Our road was mentioned as a barrier so many times I would hate to try counting, and yet we have had 5 offers this year...........2 on the same day this week...........and not one mentioned said road, but yet it still exists and it is the busy silly season...... heavy with traffic heading to our coastline!

Such a lovely day,blue skies and beautiful sunshine so we have decided a short trip to the seaside to breathe in some fresh air might do us more good than simply resting pronto in our flat!!!It seems my lovely man feels more himself again and I am more than happy to oblige!

I do feel for you Nannytopsy aggravations that you certainly do not want or need at said time...........but please do not let it halt your move or pleasure..........be they very close together.Life is simply far too short to let these things rule our lives.I am sure it will be another of those "it will be alright on the night (or day!)"Fingers firmly crossed.

Synonymous I so admire your DH. Mine has taken to using a stick as his hip is still painful. It is not arthritis so we really do not know what it is but he seems to lurch from seat to seat. I find this more worrying than my own condition to be honest. I nag him I am afraid as I feel he is not trying.

Now back in the sunny shire after a wonderful time with a special friend. The fact it rained and blew the whole time was immaterial to us.

My notes remind me of two marvellous tv programmes which is unusual as I don't watch much The first was Easter Island which I visited some years ago. It was a David Attenborough programme. The other was about an octopus which I need to watch again. Such intelligence although I felt uncomfortable about the being in a tank.

Well time for a coffee on the terrace. I have it on good authority the roads are dreadful around here so will stay put. Perhaps pick greengages and plums then consider what to do with them.

Dragonfly as soop says it could well be sciatica which can be so painful that it can bring you to tears. If that is what he has then he has my greatest sympathy as that is one of the bains of my life. It is not easy to diagnose as normal xrays don't show it so he may well need a different scan. If this is his problem then do give him a wee cuddle whenever he is struggling as he really needs it.
Don't be misled by Himself either as he has his moments too and needs lots of tlc. He has his hospital driving assessment appointment through today so there is a bag of mixed emotions coursing through at present. Excitement, apprehension and what if I can never drive again. I would not be unhappy if he did not get his license back because of the PTSD but I am keeping my own counsel and going with the flow.

N&G, the 8 legged horror went under the settee, hasn`t been seen since, we`ve been living in a state of suspended terror ever since! Izabella, if it could be persuaded to pack it`s bags, you`d be welcome to it...…………….how do you know it`s a she?

My daughter had her plaster cast removed yesterday, she`s now wearing a very fetching gigantic boot, but she says the pain is horrendous now, about equal to when she had her fall weeks ago.

Just back from a very pleasant trip to the quiet part of the beach and my first paddle this year.

Yesterday’s nettle attack settled with copious quantities of antihistamine cream, thank you n&g. Today I’ve been stung by a flying something, no idea what but it itches like mad and looks like a contagious disease. Tomorrow I stay inside .

Fingers are crossed for everyone trying to move home. Our last move was scarily easy the one before the stuff of nightmares.

I’m hoping macs has stayed firmly on the ground and you are both taking it easy Soop. We’ve both got feet up here.

Hope your husband emerged victorious from the assessment synonymous, good for the self esteem, although I can imagine the understandably mixed emotions.

I’m another wondering about sciatica dragonfly, a diagnosis of anything would help you both cope that’s for sure. Enjoy the sunshine and that new bathroom, both are very good for you .

Aah, spiders. I can deal with the small ones, need reinforcements for those who fill a teacup and glare at me. I find a child’s fishing net excellent for capturing them. We usually put them out, some distance away if we can in the hope they don’t return.

Poor Dawn she really has had a bad time since that fall from the ladder. It does seem an age since it happened. Give her our kind regards.

corner MacSporran has done stuff in the garden but, thank goodness, he hasn't mentioned the hedge. Next year, I think that we should employ a gardener to perform the tricky business of high hedge trimming. MacS will be 80 very soon. We need a strong, able-bodied chappie to step in from time to time.

I hope that lady spider has gone to pastures new to find another mate, and if she`s already preggers, PLEASE let her raise her family elsewhere! David would have just got one of his size 10s and clobbered it, I`m too scared to go anywhere near it!

Callgirl I am with David on that one! There were an incredible number of spiders in this place when we moved in nearly five years ago and it has taken all that time to reduce the numbers to the occasional one which is much more manageable. It is their unpredictability of movemrnt that gets to me and I suppose with that number of legs to use they would be.

Himself says thank you soop but he doesn't know what he has done to deserve it.
Well, he has spent several half hour slots over the last three days weeding my birthday heather bed and it is looking lovely now so I think I have to give him a wee cuddle on my own behalf too. He will be getting quite above himself at this rate! My cousin and DD bought and planted up the heathers last year for my special birthday so the plants have a bit of growing to do yet but hold great promise. I have taken photos of 'my walk around the garden' but am a technophobe so will have to get some help - just don't hold your breath though!

Thank you soop, synonymous and corner for your concern. We have seen numerous doctors and they do think it is coming from the sciatic nerve but not sciatica as such. He is in so much less pain than he was but still lurches around with a stick. He is in pain this evening as he has been doing the exercises the physio gave him for which I was very pleased. I worry because this is how my dad started and at the end could not even get out of a chair. They couldn't find out what caused it but I blame statins. Of course the doctors wont have this.

callgirl if your daughters leg is hurting so much it may be worth checking all is ok (although one would assume that had already been done before they put the boot on). Sorry she’s in such pain. I catch spiders in a glass and then throw them out the door. Could you not have a suitable glass and a bit of card ready just in case your guest makes another appearance.

We have found several false widow spiders this year for the first time - eek! Some of them are in the vacuum cleaner ?

Does anyone have Moshulu shoes? If so, what width fitting are they? Little fat feet here!

I love moshulu shoes as they are wearable straight away! My feet are average. They do sell in some shops. One in Aldeburgh and one in Oakham - possibly!

Doodle, to catch a spider that way calls for a lot more courage than I possess, it would be just my luck for the card to slip and the monster would be crawling up my arm!! IN haven`t seen it today, but a few minutes ago Mia was staring hard at the stairs doorway, from whence the monster appeared last night, so hopefully if it`s there she`ll dispose of it.

n&g even in retirement we still can’t resist the pull of the bank holiday urge to get out and about. It was warm and sunny so off we went, picnic at the ready. We did choose carefully which roads/routes/destinations to enjoy and although out 1st favourite destination was a wee bit busier than usual it was by no means crowded. Actually it was my favourite sort of a day, driving from one lovely place to another along beautiful and fairly empty roads, with a bit of a meander everywhere we went. We were surprised and delighted to bump into some good friends who were returning home after a few days away to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

All the talk of house moving horrors make me feel slightly uneasy, dd4 put her flat on the market yesterday. I just hope things go smoothly for her, I’m not sure she realises how much more complicated it is when you're not a 1st time buyer. Good wishes to all kitcheners waiting and hoping for a positive and speedy outcome.

I’ve one pair of Moshulu shoes which are very comfy indeed, like kitty I've got average sized feet...it’s just shame about the rest of me! Glad to see that your good man, soop, is all in one piece and looking very relaxed too.

I’m tired and worn out. I can hardly bear to watch the unbearable anymore. If I cry I’ll feel I will loose control and never stop. I watched yesterday as my now very weak DiL insisted on preparing our granddaughters birthday party. How she sat smiling through the pain knowing it the last time she’ll ever celebrate any of her babies birthdays. We watch as her body is ravaged, her bones are weak, her eyesight is fading fast from the cancer in her brain, her balance has almost gone, yet she is uncomplaining. I watched as we all pretended that her goodbyes to some of her relatives wouldn’t be her last and they’d never see her again. We’re hoping for a miracle that will never come, knowing that thing may get worse. She so desperately wants to see the birthday girl settle into her new school in September. She wants nothing for herself just to make things easier for her little ones. How can we all bear the unbearable, how?

You just will for her sake and the sake of the children, you can't let your feelings show except when you are alone.
I am sure all.our hearts go out to you all.
You are living through the most awful time.
I pray you find the strength to see it through.
