The daftest thing I’ve ever done

Went back ahead of my DH to the car which was parked in a multi storey car park. It wasn’t there! Couldn’t find it anywhere. DH appeared after what seemed like ages saying “Oh, there you are. What are you doing up here?” Yep, I was on the wrong level ?

I tried to remove my nail polish using mouthwash. Just relieved I didn't try to rinse my mouth with nail polish remover!

This morning I decided to bleach dishclothes in a bucket in the sink. As I was going out I could hear a dripping noise like the shower.I checked both bathrooms and went out for 4 hours. When I came home I could still hear the noise and discovered I had left the hot tap running into the bucket! Luckily the sink was unplugged or the kitchen would have been flooded.

On the day that my late partner was due to move in, a friend brought a bouquet of flowers, saying "How exciting! How're you feeling?" I'd just been ironing, so I wound the flex round the iron and said "Well, it's marvellous, of course, but I'm trying to think of it as perfectly natural", as I put the iron in the fridge.

Big mistake trying to eat my lunch whilst reading these. I have cleared up the cucumber I managed to spray round the conservatory. I’ve such a stomach ache from the laughing. Bless you all! I don’t think there was a single one that I couldn’t envisage myself doing.

I frequently answer the tv remote control instead of the phone.
By then I’ve missed the call and there’s a message on the ansaphone.

Love all these. Katy, I too have dropped the knickers into the toilet bowl instead of the basket!
I find this post quite reassuring - was beginning to wonder if a trip to the GP was in order!

Not me this time but my DM. She was on the rota to make the teas and coffees after church.
She put a teaspoon of instant coffee in half the cups and when anyone asked for coffee she just poured boiling water from the teapot - without noticing it was actually tea. She got to the end before she noticed. Anyway the astonishing thing was nobody complained but she wasn't asked to help again.

A friend of mine went to a meeting, when she came out she could not unlock her car. She gave up and rang for her husband (20 minutes away) to bring her spare set of keys. When he pulled up next to her, he asked why she wasnt by her car which was parked further up the road. To be fair, the unwilling car was the same colour as hers.

My ex lived in west of Scotland; 2.5 hours on a coach from Glasgow.
I had been staying with him, and we got up at around 5am so I could pack and catch the 7am coach to Glasgow, then on to airport to fly home.

Both miserable and tired and cold, we caught the bus, changed for the airport, and duly arrived - to find my flight was actually the next day.

We had to spend hours going back to his, then do it all the next morning!

My CD stopped working, so as it was under guarantee, I took it back to the shop.

To make sure the batteries were out (I don't use them but they had to check) the girl opened the back to reveal an ant's nest and thousands of the little beggars.
She thrust the CD player back at me and it was then I did the most lunatic thing (it still make me go hot to think about it) ever.
I blew, hard, into the nest. Ants were propelled everywhere. All over the poor, screaming lassie, all over the Customer Service desk, all over me

No but I have lifted the toilet seat instead of the linen basket lid, and thrown my pants down the loo

Bradfordlass72 Your 'ant' story reminded me of last time I was visiting my daughter in Australia. They have an automatic garden-watering system. She lifted the lid, to adjust the timer, and found the box seething with ants. She was about to go for the killer spray, but I told her that, if she left the lid open, the ants would remove themselves. Sure enough, a procession of ants, carrying their eggs, began to evacuate the box. Within an hour they were all gone.

I congratulated myself on saving all those little lives.

Unfortunately, finding that the box was closed and dark again, they all moved back in! My heartless daughter squirted the lot!

I'm just back from a weekend away. Before leaving home I pushed my phone charger through small gap in my bag. All weekend I searched for it, to no avail. I found it while unpacking, in the lining. I don't know how i managed to get it in there.

I sprayed all the roses with weedkiller last year - result no roses!

I just tried using the sky remote to make a phone call.........?

Squirt not squint but maybe!

After yet another 4 am early morning call with hay fever sneezing, I sleepily tried to squint eye drops up my nose then staggered into kitchen for a cuppa. Then proceeded to pour boiling water into tea caddy instead of tea pot!

I once ‘lost’ my car on holiday with DH, I’d popped to a local supermarket to get fresh bread and when I came out my car was gone I walked round and round that car park and eventually went inside in a panic to tell them my car was stolen.
They advised me to call the police so out I went for one last check just in case and I got my phone out and in my bag spotted the car keys with the Skoda logo on them, my cars a Nissan. My car was at home as we’d taken DHs car on the trip. ?

I had lost one of the car keys, searched high and low and spent a fortune on a new one. Two days ago I was defrosting and cleaning the freezer, what did I find? You guessed it, the car key.

I’ve inadvertently worn my glasses when already wearing contacts and then wondered where my glasses were and why the room looked all fuzzy ?

I've had a few of these, I went shopping in my slippers, without my purse, and tried to boil an egg without putting any water in the pan - but the worst and most expensive mistake was last week.
Going downstairs with the laundry bag and having no pockets I put my mobile on the top of the laundry, intending to remove it to the worktop when I got to the kitchen - mindful of the ghastly tumble last year I wanted to have one hand free for the banister.
But the mobile slid out out sight, I wanted to do other things before starting the washer so I got on with those and forgot about the phone. Later I bundled the clothes into the machine. Eventually I wondered where the phone was - nowhere to be seen , not in any of the usual places and then it dawned on me. Oh dear.
I'm grateful the sim card kept the contacts and pictures but I wasn't really ready to upgrade.
I fear I'm getting ever nearer to a home for the bewildered.

I decided to make cous cous for my lunch. I duly put some in a bowl and left it to soak in boiled water. When I came back nothing seemed to have happened. When I tasted it, I realise I had made it with oatmeal. Porridge salad, anyone?

Visited a friend on Wednesday and as I walked from the car to her door I couldn't remember locking it. As the friend opened her front door I'm searching through all four sections of my handbag for the car keys. What are you looking for she asked. My car keys I replied. They're in your other hand she told me! Senior moment?
