In the pictures from Wimbledon she looks very slim. Compare her to others standing close by.

When I see films of women during WW2 they mostly seem slim and wore dresses with belts which emphasised their figures. I was born just after the War and we ate 3 meals a day and no snacks and we were all slim.

I despair how things have changed now and it seems to be the norm to be a lot larger. We have a different lifestyle now which is not conducive to slimness.

I was never slimmer than when I had young children. I was very much the same shape as Kate, have been most of my life, and only now is my waist rather thicker. It’s just natural to some people. I ate what I like and still do.

I do agree that overweight is seen as normal by many now. If you’re surrounded by overweight/obese people, it becomes the norm.

I had a waist measurement of 24" for many years. It was my natural size. I only wish I had the same now!

I seem to recall you’ve got the hang of one fingered captions Gonegirl wink

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 22:54:15

Does anyone still use that old emoji? (moon)

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 22:53:46

moon

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 22:53:35

Oh! I see! (I can't do captions)

merlotgran Sat 13-Jul-19 22:41:53

OK. Not really a joke just a light hearted reference to Kate and Meghan supposedly proving there's no feud. Kate takes her sister along for back up.

Feel free to add your own captions.

It's true, there are so many fatties these days, we're beginning to think it's how we should be. Look back on tv footage of the sixties to see how stick thin people were - that's how we should be.

Anniebach Sat 13-Jul-19 22:34:17

Yes I know merlot, I just thought if the seating had been different the press would kick off

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 22:33:25

I didn't get it merlot. Someone explain please.

merlotgran Sat 13-Jul-19 22:06:36

It was a joke, Annie. hmm

Anniebach Sat 13-Jul-19 22:00:22

Very wise seating arrangement, if Kate had sat in the middle she would naturally speak to her sister and tomorrow’s
press, Kate ignores Megan .

SirChenjin Sat 13-Jul-19 21:51:04

I think we’ve just become immune to obesity and so someone who is very slim is noticed - which is terrible. We’re just back from holiday and thing that struck me when we landed at the airport and in town shopping today was the size of people here shock There were obviously overweight people there but not to the extent it is here.

Anniebach Sat 13-Jul-19 21:30:06

I have had eating disorders twice. No way would Kate’s hair
look as it does if she had a problem with food.

Urmstongran Sat 13-Jul-19 21:21:10

I think she looks very thin. But her hair is glossy, her face and smile are warm and her legs are fantastic! I don’t think there’s anything to worry about here.
?

She is sporty - plays tennis herself, swims and, judging by mum Carole, has good genes.

EllanVannin Sat 13-Jul-19 21:13:26

I lost a lot of weight after I'd given birth and thankfully all but for a few extra pounds since, I've also stayed pretty slim. It's in the genes. Genes help, but you can also make sure yourself that you don't start ballooning.

merlotgran Sat 13-Jul-19 21:11:27

I chuckled at Kate's masterstroke - seating Pippa on Meghan's left.

'Hey, Pips. You know that seat you wanted for the final?' grin

Lessismore Sat 13-Jul-19 21:06:16

You are right Annie and Good Luck to her, Pippa and Meghan. A lovely day for them I'm sure.

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 20:58:59

I used to be thin. Sigh.

Anniebach Sat 13-Jul-19 20:56:56

No thinner than on her wedding day

Does it matter?

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 20:53:07

It might be the dress.

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 20:52:45

Yes. It is last year. Time flies.

MissAdventure Sat 13-Jul-19 20:36:36

She has always been very, very slim to my mind.
When my mum was telling me how stunning she was (Kate, not my mum!) I said as much and got a big telling off.

I like to see people a bit more sturdy.
