Not able to garden ?

We too downsized - house and garden - Fennel a few years ago. 3/4 acre to a smallish garden on the edge of town. Husband has an allotment. Hope the herbs bed in well - they should like this heat.

They’re just cuttings from a huge Hebe shrub, 2 types of lavender, and Lady’s mantle CanadianGran. There are two huge Lavender bushes at the end of the garden, with pale flowers and then other darker lavenders in pots

I love your arrangement; beautiful! Can you please tell me what plants are included? I'm guessing lady's mantle and lavender, but not sure about the other purple flowers.

As on another thread, I bought some herb plants from Tesco - mint, basil parsley, thyme.
Recently husband caved in and asked a gardener to clear the small beds in our new house. So there was space for a few herbs or veg.
2 years ago we were living in the country and had a 10 by 10m veg patch, full of all sorts.
We're in our late 70s/80s.

Thanks Fennel - I’m 70 - and yes, I dread the idea of, and repercussions from, falls. I haven’t had other falls, but I must take care. Trouble is, I’m quite a speedy person! I can’t do any weeding, as bending, even low down, is agony. Yes, taking paracetamol - but not making me drowsy; I’m not a good sleeper anyway. Glad you were able to garden a little today. What did you plant?

ps to help you sleep - I used to take 2 by 500mg paracetamols which helped pain and made me drowsy.

Lisagran - I don't know how old you are, but I dread falls, having had and survived a few. Time to take precautions.
Your flower arrangement is beautiful.
Can you take a low stool outside and do a little weeding etc?
Rake over a small space and plant something new. That's what I've just done today after a long time away from gardening. Long story.

Whinge away, why not if you are feeling glum and carry on snipping. ?

Thanks Gabriella - not really an arrangement - more or less plonked in! The Hebe was only put in last year, but it’s huge already.
You are all kind and I shouldn’t whinge really - others are in much worse situations. Lack of sleep = very tetchy

Pain and an inability to get about must be depressing Lisa and I hope you get well. Steps are horrible, aren't they?

Oh dear. Lisagran, that sounds painful. I hope those 4 weeks whizz by, but in the meantime, do as you are doing, nothing more. ?

That would be a nightmare for me. Now not managing housework would be no hardship!
