I think it is a data protection issue to take unsolicited photos.
I wouldn't imagine that particular law is different for royalty.

I don’t think it matters what class you grow up in when it comes to managing the media or your PR. I’d argue that Meghan is far more adapt at presenting the image she wants us to see.

That’s pretty shocking about Wimbledon She’s in for a shock if she thinks she can stop people taking photos when she’s at national events in whatever capacity she chooses to attend.

Kate, Sophie, Fergie, Diana , Camilla - all had grown up in similar circles - unlike Meghan who has no experience of moving in "upper class" society (a phrase I hate but can't think of another way to describe that circle). Being able to speak in public or pose for photographs is no training for becoming a member of the RF.

You might not be able to see that, but at Wimbledon a fan had been taking photos of Serena Williams when she noticed Meghan in the same row as her. Took a quick photo and was tapped on the shoulder by a royal protection officer and told "the duchess was here in a private capacity".

They are practically newly-weds, of course they hold hands. She is a strong confident woman but is in a situation which she has no training for or experience of - so may need the reassurance hand holding gives her. I wonder how any of us would act if in that position.

They release pictures - accused of courting publicity. They don't release pictures - accused of ignoring the public. Seems to me they can't win.

I think Meghan and Harry very much control their PR machine - so what we see from them is very much who they are and what they stand for

To clarify matters it is the RF as a body I hate, individual members I have no feelings about because I don't actually know any of them. I also find it very strange that some people seem to think they do know them, and not only know them but like and dislike things about them. Just because you see pictures in the papers and read what they are doing is nothing to do with them as people it's all part of the publicity machine which surrounds them. And maybe none of them can hellp being born into the firm but they could all choose to walk away.

I agree Anniebach, the whole hanging off him feels like an act for the cameras to show just how much she loves her man.
