Just back from 4 nights on a friend's narrowboat with another friend. The boat is great, and it was very generous of the owner to invite us along. We were lucky (mostly) with the weather. So, what's the problem?
Well, I suffer with IBS. The very first thing explained was the toilet. Basically, the rule is only liquids in the toilet - for all else we wait until we stop at a pub or a mooring where there are toilets! I wanted to turn round and go home straight away! I coped, although I had to break the rule a couple of times, but I felt bloated and uncomfortable for the entire trip, and have suffered since I got home.
Yes, I know I should have thought about all this before I agreed to go along, but it was all arranged by my two friends while I was on holiday, and I just went along with it all as a different experience.
We live and learn, although you'd think I'd know better by now!!!
