Its a quiet Monday here at work. I'm bored stiff as the lads are out on site and the phone hasn't rung since 10am !

I have all the lights on and its black dark outside. Looks like there's a storm a comin'...… I'm picking the older DGC up from school at 3.15 and have no coat so will no doubt end up soaked to the skin. Might rummage around and see if I can find a high vis knocking around.

What's it like where you are?

Gilybob I'm envious of your fog horn - I'm in Northumberland and they were all decommissioned here years ago. I miss their eerie call.

Grey and rainy looking again today. Will I ever wear a summer dress?

What's happening here? I am watching water gushing from the guttering above the decking - another job to get done!

raining heavily this morning in Somerset.

After several days of that sort of infuriating weather which is sunny for about an hour and just as you think the washing is dry, it pours down, we have a day you can trust.
So I've been a washerwoman all morning. grin

Sunny, warm and encouraging to all the Spring bulbs I put in at the weekend; their little freesia noses have just popped up above the potting mix.
.
The birds are clearly enjoying it too and the ducks are reminding me that any minute now there'll be ducklings to feed. Lovely.

58 degrees and all's well. [flower]

it has again been very hot today- had to take visitors to the train station by the lake- it was boiling, but all the Alps out- so so beautiful. Night falling and temps too, thank goodness. Up in the mountains it always cools down at night - and this old house with 90cm thick walls always remains coolish- especially on north side. Pheew.

Its almost 8.45 pm here on the NE coast . Very warm but very damp and foggy. The fog horn is in competition with a couple of big ships lying offshore . Looks like it’s going to be a noisy night .

It's been really hot here in Southern Germany and is predicted to reach 40° by the end of the week. So I haven't been outside except to hang out washing which was dry in under an hour.

Inside there are flies which are very very annoying.

callgirl1 Mon 24-Jun-19 18:03:48

Hot and humid all day, a little bit of sun and a few spots of rain.

DoraMarr Mon 24-Jun-19 18:01:56

It’s been muggy here in Birmingham, but the sky is a little lighter now. Thunderstorms were forecast, but perhaps they have passed us by.

BBbevan Mon 24-Jun-19 18:01:23

SW Wales. Sunny and warm now but foggy and damp this morning. Quiet at the moment as all the jackdaws, crows and seagulls are having a rest. Come evening they will be wheeling around, and noisy.

Charleygirl5 Mon 24-Jun-19 17:56:18

Muggy and warm here- thunder is forecast. NW London.

Back from the nursery , we went to buy pots for a pot of Coleus , I got it in Lidl and there are 4 plants in the pot , managed to get another purple/ red perennial geranium to squeeze into the raised bed behind the patio , the rain kept spitting but nothing serious yet . It is getting very dark and still and I have that tight feeling behind my eyes that usually signals thunder !

gillybob Mon 24-Jun-19 17:36:31

I’m keep getting pop up adverts for Bentley. I think I should put the lottery on .

It’s stopped raining here but the sky is still heavy and grey so I think there’s more to come tonight .

So Sorry to hear you’re having poor weather on your holiday silverlining I think you should pop that cork tonight. You could stretch your birthday celebrations over 2 days and buy more tomorrow smile

GillT57 Mon 24-Jun-19 17:30:28

very humid here, what I call a 'wet blanket day' when the air feels humid and heavy. Back door still open though as we haven't had much rain (yet) nothing moving, very still, few birds singing.

EllanVannin Mon 24-Jun-19 17:28:44

Well surprise surprise, it's been, and still is, a beautifully warm day. Whether we'll pay for it later remains to be seen or heard.

silverlining48 Mon 24-Jun-19 17:22:14

Thanks UM. Yes pants to bad weather, really disappointing. It’s just that this 3 day blip is our 3 day break but there’s Prosecco in the fridge for my birthday tomorrow, might open it tonight, why not? That should cheer me up. A bit!

Getting dark and grey here in East Sussex, but warm and humid. Thunderstorms forecast for tonight. Hope it rains----my veg garden is dry as a chip. The deer have eaten my beautiful hosta and a tub of rudbeckia which were just coming into bloom. Bet they start on the veg next in spite of the fence round it.

Rain on and off, mistyish, cold - put heating on now as DGS2 due back from childminder soon. Midlothian.

BlueBelle Mon 24-Jun-19 17:12:59

Lovely here blue skies and warm air on the East coast

sodapop Mon 24-Jun-19 17:07:34

Sunny and very hot here in France. Temp going up to 38 degrees Friday and Saturday. I have a hairdresser appt on Friday oh joy. I hate the hot weather.

Urmstongran Mon 24-Jun-19 17:06:44

Oh silverlining48 that’s just pants! Get yourself out for a large glass of something nice to cheer yourselves up on your holiday.

Light clouds here in the Home Counties interspersed with some hazy sun at times.

The forecast here is for possibly hours of heavy rain tonight but the ground is quite dry so it is needed for the gardens.

Juliette Mon 24-Jun-19 16:58:07

The sun has been out oh so briefly, back to humid and overcast. Puthery is how it’s described here in N. Staffs.

The children are home from school, no one playing outside but I can here the two little boys a few doors down having what sounds like fun until it all ends in tears.

Apart from that “All’s quiet on the Western Front”

Willow500 Mon 24-Jun-19 16:49:33

I'm on the East Coast today and it's been pouring down on and off - luckily it was 'off' while a window fitter was working. Some friends are having their roof replaced today - I bet it started as soon as they got the roof off! shock

Low cloud and rain on and off on Mainland Orkney. Yesterday on North Ronaldsay we had warm sun, blue skies, long white sandy beaches and tropical blue sea - didn't try paddling as I bet it was freezing.
Just a few more days here, forecast is for cloudy but dry whereas we had a lot of sun last week.
