Whats happening outside where you are?

Here in south Northamptonshire, we missed yesterday's rain, apart from a couple of light, short-lived showers, but we've certainly got it now! Very grey and wet out there.

I'm glad that my water butts have been topped up and the garden watered, but I really hope it clears up later so that I can sit out there. For one reason or another, my plans to do that have been scuppered nearly every day over the last week.

(I can't complain about one of those days, as what 'scuppered' it was a completely unexpected and extremely last-minute opportunity to go down to Wembley to see Billy Joel, free! That really was a once in a lifetime experience for me )

In Weymouth it’s sunshine and showers after hours of torrential downpours during the night.
We’re off to Lyme Regis and the boys I’m sure will find Go- Karting somewhere along the way. (On holiday with some adult GC).

Heavy rain, humid & breezy here at the moment. Supposed to stop raining after lunch - we'll see! To be fair, the sky does seem to be lightening up a bit...

Heavy rain here in Birmingham. I live opposite Edgbaston Stadium and can see preparations being made for the next World Cup match tomorrow, so I hope the weather forecast is accurate and there will be sunshine tomorrow. I really need to go to the post office in Moseley and do some local shopping, but it’s much nicer on my sofa with a cup of tea watching the rain!

I'm now hoping that it bucks up here so that I can hang my " boiled " washing out. Towels, a sheet, underwear and tea-towels. I must say it looks quite promising at the moment and the mild atmosphere will dry it in no time-----though I do like to see it blowing a bit and not just hanging motionless as it will. Still, we can't have everything.

A bit overcast, but the sun is there somewhere, and it's a lovely warm day. Hoping for a bit of blue sky later this afternoon, but I'm not complaining - at least it's not raining.

In south west Northumberland at present it's overcast with a light breeze. I felt a few drops of rain a little while ago, but nothing really.
According to the all knowing Alexa we can expect thunderstorms later, but I'm sceptical. We'll wait and see.

Here in Suffolk these two kestrel fledglings are in/around their nest box about 80 metres from my house

The rain has stopped so I am sitting in the garden looking across the meadow to the school, listening to/watching the children practising sports for Friday's sports day. Ground's a bit damp but I'm sure they don't care!

There is a fine rain falling here in the northernmost fringe of Berkshire. DH insisted on going to stock up with logs this morning. Despite the fact that it had been raining all night and the logs are stored in the open.

I have just caught sight, from my bedroom window, of two small children in the cul de sac opposite, dressed in raincoats and wellies, jumping up and down in a huge puddle! It looks like heaps of fun. There is an upside to wet weather for some!

On the M4, heading to Cardiff. Husband is driving, no rain but a few clouds. Traffic is okay!

It’s cold (12 degrees) and lashing down with rain here on the NE coast this afternoon . Leaving “this place” for the school run in about 5 minutes . What a day for June .

Gonegirl, the elastic is integrated within the waist of my drawers so no " perishing " so far. As long as my underwear is presentable ( in case of an accident,etc ) I'm quite happy.

Temp. here near the Mersey is about 18 with a high humidity. Poor you gillybob. We're not a million miles away here in the NW, how areas differ.

Been a lovely day here on the Baltic, bright sunshine and a calm sea, and have spent the afternoon reading on deck.

Well it’s been “Baltic” here too BlueSapphire (not in a good way mind you ) bloomin’ freezing tonight . Heating on , boots and puffa coat back out of wardrobe ready for school run tomorrow . Brrrrrrr

Below my window ( I’m on the fifth floor) a man is doing face painting on other men. Someone else has a shopping trolley full of flags of two nations. Some very smartly dressed people are going by, but most people are dressed for changeable weather, and quite a few are carrying cushions. I can hear the sounds of chanting, singing and vuvuzuelas, but no drums just yet. An open- topped bus carrying men dressed in green and waving huge flags has done a couple of turns. Yes, it’s the Pakistan v New Zealand World Cup match at Edgbaston Stadium. I hope the rain keeps off!

I'm stuck in the middle of an industrial estate, vans going backwards and forwards outside and that's about it really. Its grey, damp and chilly too.
