Indeed, Charley, but DH is used to me prattling and shuts it out?! I have to add that, as well as all his chatter, the messaging service on his phone kept pinging! When something pings in our car it usually signifies some sort of mechanical Armageddon, so both DH and I were alarmed. After the first few times it was just b****y annoying. When DH asked him a question about something on the dashboard display, he actually leaned over his shoulder and started fiddling with the buttons on the steering wheel while DH was driving, at which point DH said “I’d be grateful if you didn’t do that again - it’s dangerous!” You couldn’t make it up!

I have just been making lasagne - both vegetarian and carnivorous ? - so I will leave some in the kitchen with a nice fresh salad (those last are three words to strike fear and loathing in me at any time!!). I will try and look in later. TOYA.

Good luck with the microwave Charleygirl5. I’ve just picked a few sweet peas I wish you could smell them they just make the whole room smell divine.

I would have told the salesman sitting in the back to shut up because I could not concentrate.

It rained during the night, the sun is out as is my washing and I am waiting for microwave no.2 to be delivered. Hopefully this one will not be too large.

Soop you have my sympathies. Our internet has been dropping in and out at an alarming rate for a couple of days and the IP’s ears must be burning fit to bust!

We have had one of those silly days which started off with me discovering this morning that DH had left the freezer door open when he went to get some ice for my G&T .... LAST NIGHT!!..... and ended with us in a car showroom - again! We arranged to test drive a car that DH saw online and when we got into the car, the salesman climbed in the back. We looked at each other and DH said “You’re coming with us then?” “How old are you, Mr Duster?” says this cheeky youth. He told him, and the upshot of it was that it’s not their policy to allow you out on your own if you are over seventy!! “Go and tell your manager that I have been driving for forty years and I have never had an accident, and I don’t intent to blot my copy book now!” So he did, and came back and said “sorry, it’s our insurance you see!” So he sat in the back and for an hour he wittered and waffled about the most inane things under the sun until I was ready to scream “Shut the hell up you silly boy!”, hit him with a jack handle and dump him in the nearest field! He kept asking where we were actually going. We had no intention of telling him! Anyway, at the end of the day we left a holding deposit to allow us to go away and think about it and having thunk, we have decided it is not the car for us. It is too heavy for the engine. I hope this means that DH has all this out of his system now but somehow I doubt it!
GS and his dad are away this weekend so DD is coming over to have dinner with us tomorrow. I am greatly looking forward to it, though she couldn’t be persuaded to stay the night which would have been nice.

Penicillin has been used in a diluted form to save my life Anno but after this last experience I really do not want the stuff ever again.However it meant we had to road test the pull cord system and found it working well!!

Wishing you well on your move Nannytopsy it is both exciting and also traumatic but again once you get to the other end you soon forget about the bad bits as you are too busy settling in and making a new nest!!!!

Sorry hearing of your internet connection issues Soop it is so annoying but hopefully it will be short lived.

My dear one is excitedly trying to do his bit here in making this place a real home but even putting up a picture is such a struggle.But he is such a warrior, determined to make his mark and he wins out in the end though then needs some rest.

The leg remains truly a buggeration we could well do without,but hey!!we shall not let it halt us for sure just simply a slowing down process.
Bedroom is almost complete,the small bedroom makes a great dressing room cum study,the kitchen is very usable and after tomorrow we shall be well on the way of having a very pleasant sitting room.The bathroom needs some planning to get the best out of the large space.The hallway again is nice and roomy athough needs to be to house our wheelchairs.

Great joy earlier as a white dove had made its home on the terrace below and so we were able to follow it as it pranced around.Never a dull moment!

Sorry to hear about your internet problems Soop . But we got used to it when we were in the wilds of rural SW France. Regular loss of phone and internet connection. Until they chose our dept. (Gers) as the first in France for laying the broadband cables!

Panache hope you are feeling better now and that they have sorted your medication. I hope your leg is improving too. I think someone mentioned a honey dressing to you, then I remembered that when my late Mil had a problem with her leg she had a honey dressing and with good results.

We have had another sunny day and have made the most of it, we have been for a walk and a coffee. Heavy rain is forecast tomorrow.
Following the physio appointment yesterday I am now walking with a walking stick,no crutches. It gas been a long haul.
Syn it is very good to hear that your DH is making such good progress.

GS is dirty, wet and sandy have fed him and sat him in front of CBBEEBIES bedtime hour (I feel no guilt) before bath and early bed for him and a long cool drink for me:

Our D has gone to our S and DILs to mind their children whilst they have a well deserved five day break abroad- we are juggling GC and dogs between D, us and other set of GPs.

Had to laugh today as there were 3 Grans all of us had C at the school together and now we have GC at same school, same teachers etc!!!!

What a coincidence - I have been wondering where you were Baggs! Good to see you! Very frustrating for Soop. I have been sick to the back teeth of technology this afternoon. We were supposed to be going out this afternoon, but DH has been trying to connect his new all singing all dancing TV to the internet with zilch results. We tried every configuration known to man and after ringing our very unhelpful internet provider, and very unhelpful John Lewis tech department who only mewed a bit and said we’ll send an engineer - next Thursday, I walked out and kicked things around the garden while he pushed on. An hour of stumbling around later he managed to do something that did the trick. Trouble is, he can’t remember what it was!! What happened to the days when you switched a tele on and just, well, watched the tele? I hate it.

Izabella I hope your supper party goes well, and it’s very good to see the post it notes are keeping us both afloat ??!

Chin up GrannyG, I would rather that than the silent period my GS is hurtling towards at the moment☹️. A stiff G&T will put you right!

Syn sounds like Mr S has turned into a bit of a Duracell bunny (and please don’t anyone jump on me for that expression!). It’s good to hear that he’s doing so well after all the trauma he has been through. I hope things settle down for you both.

anno it is lovely to see the positivity oozing out of Himself and as a result he has so much more energy. Trying to keep up with him is another matter! As for the adapted car we are exploring the possibilities and Himself is waiting for an appointment for a NHS driving assessment where he can use a simulator to see if the PTSD will allow him to drive at all. After that, if he is able to cope, they will let him try all the available and suitable adaptations. My concern is that you can never tell when the PTSD will kick in and if he is in charge of a fast moving vehicle that could be dangerous. I feel very torn and perhaps part of that ambivilance is that I have grown accustomed to having more autonomy or independence and I don't want to lose it!

Mr.Gravy and I are with GS and 40 other pre-schoolers at a Farm Play Park it is raining!!!!

Have decamped to the indoor soft play area, the noise is unbelievable loud!!!!!

Panache, how very disturbing to have had such a violent reaction to the anti-b. I haven't t had penicillin for 60 years since injections turned my backside red and very itchy. Luckily I didn't have your reaction. Glad the little touches that make home home have arrived. You are on the way to being well settled.

panache I am so sorry you have the buggeration of a laceration to your leg. Hard to heal, so please rest and elevate as much as is feasible. (That last word caused my brain some difficulties. It would just not recognise the correct spelling ? ) Hopefully correct now. This is another recent development and I now have to use a spell checker all the time. Yesterday I could not work out how to write 'was'.
