Soop’s kitchen, filled with kindness, understanding and some damn fine cake ! Come on in.

My dear Soop and all kitchen friends what a relief to visit the kitchen and my friends again, after what can be best described as the most traumatic and horrendous 6 week period ever, plus tne move from hell!!!!

The PC let me down badly during this period and firstly may I apologise to the dear ones whom have taken time and trouble to contact me more than once.Only now I have read those messages and believe me they are very much appreciated.

We are both firmly esconsed in our delightful new home still surrounded by chaos and far too many boxes for to be fully functual.Bedroom and kitchen already nicely set up,sitting room has most of the furniture with more arriving next week, when hopefully I can turn artistic so we can then set it up nicely.
We are so pleased to have arrived in one piece though both of us are virtually on our last legs.My dear man rose to the occasion and did his bit,giving it his all, whilst I have carried the bulk of what has been such a tremendous load.
One I thought I would never manage.

On returning to put our old home back into saleable condition I dropped a drawer on my badly swollen lower leg, causing a huge gash with much blood spilling out onto until then a spotless cream carpet!!!
Viewings have already been booked in.Fingers firmly crossed.

Tomorrow we face a beast of a day with a 60 mile journey up and back for my man to visit his Consultant regarding any treatment available??? for this vile bone cancer in pelvic and hip bones as well as both legs.I fear this may be indeed a long and extremely bleak one.

However alreadty we feel this move will prove to be the right one, with the flat itself proving quite spacious for a 2 bedder, although of course it should improve when we eventually set it up as a real home from home.

The PC seems to have settled at long last, but please be aware it maybe quite a while before I am free and able to be back more frequently,and the day I can truly catch up will be another of those red letter days.

I almost thought I was to be locked out as I had great difficulty in gaining entry, and how maddening to hear the username Panache had been taken..................fully knowing I was the very culprit!!

Right, onwards, things are remarkably behind here. This mornings coffee session was miraculously accomplished without injury to anyone. A minor miracle in fairness as 16 people who refuse to sit still in a relatively small room is a recipe for disaster when I have a hot drink in my hand. Our gardener seems to have left the gate we asked him to make. A good thing I think. I just hope he fixes it firmly as I can't actually pick it up, goodness knows what he's made it from.

Racing about again tomorrow (don't nag Charley, I will sit in the garden I promise) so probably won't get in. TOYA and be good everyone.

Ok, you lot, do you think that, as a kindness to me and other busy people, you could all flipping well sit still!!

I have, this morning, posted a 70th birthday present to my longest lasting friend (IYSWIM) We lived next door to each other from being about 3 years of age, started school together and eventually our paths diverged. But, whenever we talk to each other, we are back to our old friendship. I hope your renewed friendship is the same.

I hope the dizziness has abated anno, it's very debilitating. And, Corner, stop scratching!!

Welcome to all newbies, especially the ones who have brought cake. soops kitchen is a lovely place to be. To share happinesses and woes and bubbles and cake!!

I have been reading but not posting as things have got a trifle worse, rather than better, round here. My silly brother in law has been discharged from hospital and told to come home after a few days rest. You may recall that he is in the middle of France with his arthritis, low blood sugar and a chest infection, towing a flipping caravan!! His wife has suggested that, as he is so much better, they revert to Plan A - he continues to Provence, she flies to meet him and they have a holiday. I'm livid, Dh is breathing fire and their daughter is beside herself with worry - as she tells me at least 3 times a day.

And, DD3's cat still hasn't come home!!

Tanith your Grandson is solid gold. What a lovely gesture. Both my niece and my best friend are widowed and we talk about their DH’s at every opportunity, but oddly, I baulked on Friday at handing my BF some photos I had found of her and her hubby recently. I somehow felt there would be a better time.

Nothing special today. We are off to watch GS run in an interschools athletics match this afternoon. Fortunately it is a cool day, unlike Saturday when we all struggled with the heat. This evening I will cook beef stroganoff for dinner. Apologies to all I have missed. TOYA and I will try harder next time!

I’ve brought a bowl of strawberries from the garden to share, they are washed ???.

Maw asked how DH and I met, well we first met at my best friends house he was visiting when I called in, he was just a friendly happy chappy we met a couple of times over the next 6/7 yrs and after my first husband and I divorced we met up and the rest is history. We were very happy and all my children liked him a lot he was the only Grandfather my GC knew and loved.

Our wedding was low key with the reception in our garden but all the people that mattered were there.

tanith, I'm so pleased for you. What a lovely generous and considerate couple they are. The rosebush will be a joy in years to come.

ann, sorry you had a disturbed night. I felt a bit woozy last night and went to bed early. The result was that I was wide awake in the small hours and finished a book before I got back to sleep. This was unusual for me as I normally sleep like the proverbial for 7 hours.

Blue sky here in SE Essex, very little breeze. I have good intentions to do some house jobs today before the cleaners arrive tomorrow, but, I am in bed on GN!!!! I need to change the bed and put the summer duvet on. Attempt the ironing all before my 12.30 appointment with the asthma nurse, 3rd health appointment in 2 weeks, if only one doctor/nurse could have done all 3 in 1??

So busy in the kitchen and in TopsyTowers. Yesterday spent church cleaning for funeral on Thursday. There is a large colony of bats, so lots of mouse-like droppings. ?
As a result I am walking like an old woman this morning - don’t you dare say it!
My garden is going critical and I have the North face of the ironing to scale. Then we move upstairs, which now contains the horrid, dirty (mousy) contents of the loft. I have already been to the tip twice and there is plenty more.
Better get started I suppose!

Hope sleep came ann, somehow the night time hours are longer than the day time hours when sleep is elusive.

Minor I know but I’ve such an itchy, hot ankle it’s driving me to distraction. Can’t see a bite and anti histamine has had no effect. Just one of those things that will doubtlessly pass once I’m busy today and have more to think about. Our turn to host a monthly coffee session so best double check the supplies.

gransal well done in being prepared, things are less scary when we arm ourselves with all the facts.
Another disturbed night for me, I was so tired when I came to bed that I did drop off quite quickly but then I woke up after a couple of hours and can't get back.
It is pleasantly cool so that isn't the problem.
Another one who hopes the Panaches are settled and happy in their new home, what a trauma they have had, they surely deserve some peace at last.
Well I hope you are all safe and secure in your beds and sleeping the sleep of the just.

As you may have gathered I am an owl ! Have started to research AMD and will be printing out copies of as much info as possible to give to the family. My comfort is that this will not happen overnight so I have time on my side to get used to it, as much as I can. Another chapter of my Alex Grey book , the Glasgow version of the Rebus stories, and then I will give this sleeping lark a bluddy good go. Many thanks for your support.
