My view is nobody is better than anyone else and if you can stay at the Waldorf Hilton you are as well off as them, although another wiew of mine is, money doesn't matter, kindness and good manners, do.

I have had a really good nights sleep, my GD stayed over and she let Molly into her room.
I think having her there settled my mind and I relaxed.

My GD 2 is 17 today, I do not see much of them, no problems, it is just the way it is.
I reflected this morning that I have only seen her once on her birthday
and that was her actual birth day, we had gone to look after her brother while mum was is in hospital.

We are doing “lasts” here - last day at work has gone for DH and tonight is the last dinner party in this house. Tomorrow will involve packing the best glasses, china etc. We don’t have a moving date yet but it can’t be too long! —can it?!—

Dawn is still awaiting the medics decision about whether to transfer her to Derby for her op. She`s still in a lot of pain, but in good spirits, apart from wishing she was still going to London tomorrow. I`ve taken 3 weeks to get extra care sorted for 2 days whilst I`m away, now my granddaughter finds tonight that she`s off tomorrow!
I`m still trying to instill a bit of courage into myself, ready for walking into the Waldorf Hilton tomorrow, I hope they`re not TOO posh and looking down their noses at me!

I haven't been able to access GN since last Tuesday, the lovely team at GN have no idea why, then voila everything was back. I will have to catch with everyone up pdq.

Yesterday the wonderful Red Arrows flew right over the house trailing red, white and blue smoke. They had been to the Wales Air Show just along the coast. They make me so proud to be British, love them.

My DD and I are going to Wimbledon on Thursday, she has tickets for the Ladies semi final on Centre Court. I am thrilled. My late father loved tennis and I grew up with stories of all the 'old greats'. His firm favourite was Rod Laver.

Feelingmyage I'm watching some exciting matches. If you want strike through, you need two short dashes before and after a word. okay Okay!

I too hope the Pansches are at last getting settled, if anyone deserves it ,they do.
They have had, and are still having, so many trials in their lives.
callgirl my window cleaner fell off our sloping porch roof a few years ago.
He sustained what was called a spiral fracture to his ankle/ heel.
He was in hospital for sometime and off work for more than three months.

Galen with reference to the slug...when I was at infant school, not too long ago a boy took his salad to the teacher and complained that there was a caterpillar on the lettuce leaf. Teacher gently lifted the creature from said leaf, examined it and duly swallowed it. The canteen was suddenly silenced.

Are you sure about the date? When I book a return ticket on line, it usually gives a date a month later and the ticket can be used any time during that month. Which reminds me I have to do some booking myself.

Oh Ann, it happens to us all, don't be hard on yourself. If you phoned and explained you might be lucky and get a sympathetic person who could just sort something for you. Sounds as if life is getting harder again, so a gentle hug and some .

A late Good morning from me.
I didn’t have an easy day yesterday, family problems rearing their head.
Molly was very unsettled last evening, she slept all afternoon on my bed and then was whinging and whining until after 1am , then started playing.
I have offered to put her on e-bay, free for collection.

I have booked my tickets to go and see my D at the beginning of August and just how I don’t know, managed to do the return for September!!
They are advance, non refundable, so if anyone wants a return ticket from Euston to Manchester just form an orderly queue.
I am not telling anybody just how foolish I was??
They will think I am too old to be let out.

If I could remember where I put my head greyd I could tell you who recommended vinegar for itchy bites. As warned a bit smelly but it did help lessen the aggravation - an excuse for chips here - as my three years out of date anti histamine cream just wasn’t working. Wonder why . I resorted to anti histamine tablets and a mix of vinegar and a new tube of cream, we had been near a lake when attacked, some sort of water beastie. I’m still left with angry looking red marks, guess they will go eventually

We also evicted hollyhocks because of rust. The climbing rose is prone to it but so far can keep it reasonably controlled, really hope that continues.

Need to stir and catch up with the admin this morning while Mr C does the ironing before we go off to attempt to quell the riot with two of ours, overnight stay before that unreasonably early start tomorrow.. I truly have to work very hard to be a nice person early in the morning. Patience will be required with a dallying teenager who needs to be driven miles to school in what will feel like the middle of the night to get a coach for a trip out. We will all survive - maybe .

Hello the kitchen! I am early this morning - couldn’t sleep due to one arm being covered in bites I didn’t know I had until yesterday. Another hangover from Saturday’s walk and they are driving me bananas! Note to self: always wear a long sleeved shirt! At least the leg has settled down a bit.

Corner that’s a lovely rose. I had a nice climber in my garden but every year it was riddled with rust that didn’t respond to any treatment so we dug it out. I bought it at Harrogate flower show one year and it was supposed to be disease resistant. Now it looks like I may have to get rid of my hollyhocks because they have rust too!
Panache can I move in with you? Your new home sounds super! I hope it’s not long before you get a buyer for your house and that will be another thing off your mind.

Well, it is shaping up to be a hot one again today. When GS comes home from school, if he hasn’t got anything else planned we may play boule in the garden. It will keep him off his phone, at least. I will look in later. I can hear Himself stirring so I’ll go and put the kettle on!

Bad news about that heel Callgirl but lovely to hear from you Panache. When my DH was a small boy, a neighbour called my MiL to tell her he was feeding his little sister slugs in the garden. Horrid!

Anno, I’m sorry, no idea what it’s called - the label has gone. What sort of a gardener am I? . My mum would be horrified, she knew the name of every plant in her garden and those we passed by. The rose has a delicate fragrance, I always think it’s quite gentle. Whatever it’s called I think I’m lucky to have got it to thrive.

It’s one of those nights when I can’t quite wind down, the aftermath of a hectic week. I’m hoping some soothing music will help - hasn’t yet this evening but you never know.

soop, I'm tickled to see you describing my DGD as a 'beautiful young lady'. She is anything but ladylike! Runs around on a motor scooter; is a sergeant in the Army Cadets and aspires to a military career. I kind of hope that changes!

Dawn has been told today that they might have to transfer her to a hospital in Derby, after a CT scan they said she`s done an awful lot of damage to her heel, it may need pinning and all sorts. She won`t get visitors very often if they transfer her to Derby, bless her.
