Weather Forecasts - Why?

You are not alone shysal wouldn't be without the app.

Does anyone else find that when listening to a forecast they lose concentration before it gets to their region, thus missing it?
Thank you BBC Weather app, which I check first thing every morning to help me decide what to wear!

Thanks Wade for making my point so well.

The time given for the evening weather forecast after local news is always very limited, yet the forecaster always wastes time by telling us what the weather has been like during the day. I already know that! Just tell me what the weather is going to be like tomorrow and if possible for the next few days.

Exactly Phoenix. Presumably they are well paid to stand there and tell a camera that they will see us soon.

Perhaps the weather people could expand and tell us other things we know like - the world is round?

We have a lovely chirpy weatherman here in the Midlands - Des Coleman. He even makes a rotten forecast seem cheerful

Oh Anniebach you have made me homesick for Wales now I’m not living there anymore I loved Derek and I met him once, he was just as lovely in RL

We did have one who used to say "spits and spots" rather too much. We once counted 5 in one forecast!

I agree they are very nice but still don't understand why they tell us what we already know!

Can't stand 'in the overnight period'. What's wrong with 'overnight' or 'tonight'? Also can't stand 'a rainy/sunny/windy old day' - no need to be quite so chummy when you're giving useful information, and the 'old' adds nothing IMO. Also, why the value judgements that some of the presenters give - not everybody thinks that a rainy day is always a bad thing, particularly farmers, gardeners and firefighters!

Having said that, the Scottish forecast at 6.55 is a must-watch, and I do like the presenters.

It isn't raining here although it is very cloudy. It's so cold.
I like the weather forecasters, they are all upbeat, but with our weather I suppose they need to be.

And TV presenters do too.

I suppose many of us live in hope that there is a tomorrow ?
