Just spilt a cup of peppermint tea over my laptop keyboard!!!!! Quick application of towels and hairdryer and all seems to be working! Fingers crossed!

Anyone else done this?

DD spilt coke on hers with knock-on effects resulting in total failure!! but your liquid isn't sticky so hopefully everything will be OK

How about the rice treatment they recommend for wet mobile phones? Trouble is, it would take a lot of rice to completely immerse a laptop!

Spilt a tiny bit of coffee on my keyboard seized the CD player bit up and also some keys Eventually it gave up the ghost bit by bit and it really was only a few splashes so you are very lucky if your laptop is ok

Some months ago, I fell asleep with a full mug of tea in my hand and spilt the lot all over my laptop - and my lap. I managed to dry it out, but the keyboard was completely haywire and I couldn't type anything sensible. A local computer buff took it to some experts he knew and they sorted it out - at a price! Tea and laptops should not go together.

Turn upside down should be first action. Don't have unsecured drinks near laptops or mobile phones.
Better safe than sorry.

I have a strict rule, it applies solely to me as I'm the only one to use my PC - no food or drink near my computer smile
