Help with water bills

I think that your son's condition may well entitle you to continue to receive help as long as he lives at home. I think the income ceiling under which you may be helped is higher in London boroughs than other areas but you'll no doubt apply when the time comes and they'll hopefully say yes.

I have been getting this for the past few years due to my son having crohns disease. I also have to prove every year I am on low income, and sons most recent hospital letter. It has helped us enormously, but I am not sure whether we can carry on getting it once he leaves full time education and I lose the tax credits I receive for him.

For anyone who has difficulty meeting their water bills there is a new initiative implemented by several companies, Thames Water being one.
Called the Water Sure scheme, it aims to have 200k people signed up.
Certain criteria apply such as, but not limited to, being in receipt of WTC, the guarantee element of PC and certain medical conditions.
If your water bills exceed £374pa they are capped at that amount or lower if you use less.
More can be found on each participating company website.
