there was a group of noisy teachers on the next table
Linl1066: That's not very nice! How come you knew they were school teachers? They could have been a group of GN Grannies having a meet-up with lots to talk about. Unless of course they were at top volume such that you couldn't help eavesdropping, or were their topics intelligent?
I always ask for another table. Problem solved! Simple.

Good Morning Saturday
(38 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking greyish outside this morning but its dry.
I am off again on my usual jaunt to Bicester and Buckingham on the buses.
Hope to find the flea market in Buckingham ,and the stallholder who sells the old OS is here today.
I usually browse before I buy, and then have a vegan lunch in the café I use in Buckingham, although not vegan , have taken to liking the 3 Bean chilli and rice as a nice meal .
Mick
Good morning All x
Between sunny and cloudy today and because the forecast had been for cooler weather I got a bag of stewing steak ( local farm ) out of the freezer last night to make a nice stew.
No shopping to do as I did it all on Wednesday so will busy myself later and make an orange drizzle cake for a change from lemon. I always have plenty of oranges for squeezing as well as eating. Fresh lamb for tomorrow,mm.
Mick's 3 bean chilli sounds nice. I like the 3 bean salad from M&S too.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Nooooo! BlueSapphire! This is beyond a joke now.
I expect you’ll have been told the bank holiday weekend is to blame ....
?
Good morning, weather here in East London is flicking from dull to sunny; then again, makes me realise I’ve been sat here in bed for two hours reading and checking mail. Need to do some food shopping today then over to the arts depot in East Finchley this evening to see Mark Steel. Have a good day.
Hot water? I wish.... not till next Friday! I shall be mightily complaining.
Good morning all from a lovely Northampton morning.
Just going up to DS's for a shower, and then a trip to Sainsburys. DS has just come to pick me up so must rush.
Have a nice day everyone.
Good morning to you all, another fine day I think and I must plant out the one or bits and pieces bought from the garden centre a few days ago. Our lovely daughter came yesterday afternoon and we went for a short walk along the beach, used to do that with my husband, although he would often sit while I walked. My daughter is a nice quiet person to be with and there was no need to talk, but we were both remembering. The sea has a very calming effect. Enjoy your days.
Morning all from a sunny South Notts. Unusually, I've already watered the garden (the shady side) and it feels like it's going to be another hot day.
My sister and her husband celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary and family are invited to a buffet at tea-time. I've complied a quiz - I'm sure that many of you recall what a pint of milk cost in 1979? - 15p ! It was a different world then, wasn't it?
Hope all is well with everyone.
Good morning from a quite sunny NE. Will be having quiet weekend as sons going to Wembley for their beloved Sunderland play offs what a saga!! Anyway going to take advantage of the quiet long weekend and do some gardening and coffee stops as well. Have a lovely weekend all.
Morning Michael, Annie and all. It is dry, but a bit overcast here. Did get my tomato plants potted up yesterday; and the train tickets booked, although we nearly ended up at Cheltenham, instead of where we needed to be! ?
Well the chap came to look at our wardrobe doors, they need new hinges, and while he was here, he also checked out the kitchen cupboard doors. We are going to have soft close hinges put on all the doors. As it is a relatively small job, you can never be sure that anyone wants a job these days.
He was by recommendation, and is very accommodating with fitting in with all our Dr’s, hospital appointments. So fingers crossed, before long, all will be done.
Good morning everyone. Lovely sunny day in Cardiff. I'm excited as off to London later to see my middle daughter in a musical
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Hope everyone has a good day x
Good Morning from the Black Country, where being only 10 miles from Dora the weather is the same, cloudy but sunny.
Going to a music festival today in Penkridge Staffordshire, then will stay overnight in a hotel. Over the 3 days of this festival, today looks to be the best for the weather.
We have a Vegan café that has opened here in Stourbridge Mick and I plan to try it one day.
Hoping you can get your tooth sorted today Kitty
Wishing everyone a lovely Bank Holiday weeend.
Good morning from a dry but cloudy NE.
Just DH and I for a week but he has four more hospital appointments so that should keep us out of mischief.
Enjoy your bank holiday weekend everyone.
Good morning from the NE coast. Another bright and sunny start to the day and the sea is shimmering.
Hope your map man is there today Mick and do enjoy your lunch it sounds delicious although DH wouldn’t think so.....he doesn’t “do” beans of any kind. (Weird) .
You are very welcome Beechnut I didn’t realise how much you needed A/C in the car until mine packed in and I was doing school runs on some of the hottest days so far this year. Glad you’ve got yours sorted too.
Hope BlueSapphires British Gas man showed up yesterday and got that damned hot water sorted !
Sorry you didn’t get to see your usual dentist kitty it would be a shame to lose a tooth that could be saved but the last thing you need is toothache when you are away from home.
Oh dear what a waste of a good pint of Guinness Marydoll . Could have been so much worse though, he could have spilled it over you instead of himself ! It’s nice when our DD’s still rely on us to sort their special outfits out for them isn’t it? And mum always has the right accessories .
Continue to enjoy Malaga Urmstongran I’m sure you will. Have a nice Sangria for me will you ?
I took my dad for his usual second big shop of the week straight from work yesterday and our usual cuppa and toastie. He then wanted to get some new fish for his tank and so we spent an hour in pets at home, which made me long to bring a bunny rabbit home (I didn’t ).
Then off to DD’s to do a few little bits in her new garden which is looking fab . It’s her birthday today and I have got her the usual bag of surprises (she rarely ever gets to treat herself so I go a little bit mad....nothing expensive just lots of nice bits). Lille Evie is loving her new outdoor playroom and bangs on the back door until DD opens it to let her out. I think she is going to be very outdoorsy just like her big cousins.
Have a great Saturday everyone x
Good Morning from Fife. It looks as if the sun is struggling to peep it's little head out but I hope it does. Have splitting head today and no I had no wine last night
but did have a bad dream. Anyway no specific plans for today will have an easy day I think. Kitty hope your pain has subsided. Marydoll you brought a
to my face with your antics yesterday. Hope everyone's day is good for them.
Good morning from Colchester where the sun has just come out after a shower.
We are off to Duxford Air Show for DGS3's 3rd birthday.
Good morning,
It's a bright, sunny morning here in SY, still a bit breezy but not quite as much as yesterday at the moment.
General chores this morning - washing out, shopping, etc, then going to friends this afternoon for eats and chat. I think today is meant to be the better day for decent weather over the bank holiday.
I do hope you get your tooth sorted today, * kitty*. Did the dentist not listen when you said you were going away next week?
Glad to hear you are feeling better, Alygran. Tummy bugs are nasty things.
Hope everyone has a nice day today. ?
Good Morning All. Quite warm in Cheshire.
I have just struggled to get the hose to water the very dry flower beds and get the water where it needs to be.
Flipping Hozelock again they never seem to last long.
Have a good day
Morning all, lovely and bright here in Torbay, plenty of blue sky here could kit out the navy? My grandchildren also look at me as though I’m mad when l say that. Grandchildren with me this weekend so must “shake a leg “ and get started on the day. Hope it’s a good one for all.
Good morning from sunny North Yorkshire. Finally feeling better after more than a week with ‘tummy trouble’. Visit to the local market today before heading to Derbyshire to see my daughters for the weekend. Helping DD2 with the raised beds in her garden.
It’s 10 years ago today that my Dad died so will be raising a glass this evening.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Good morning from Birmingham, where it is alternately sunny and cloudy this morning.
I’m going to give my living room a good clean this morning after having the children for two days- lots of little fingerprints everywhere. Tai Chi this afternoon, then afternoon tea out with some friends.
trot not tort!!! lol
Wow how lovely Scentia Poor you kitty nothing worse than toothache, really hope you get it sortedout. The cloud starting to break up here in letchworth and a glimmer of sunshinewhich bodes well for the Food Festival being held this weekend in town. I will tort off a bit later to have a mooch with my sister who wants to try the artisan bread that is usually sold on one of the stalls. She wants to see if it tastes any different to the fresh bread you buy in a shop!!! lol. I said it will cost her more that is for sure.
.We will probably stop for coffee then i must visit the library and do some fresh food shopping. Want to get out in the garden a bit later, time to pull out wallflowers which are now going over and put in my geraniums. Have a great day everyone.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, we have rain forecast later.
I did manage to go to lunch yesterday, but it was a bit of a disaster.
DH stood up, leant on the table, it flipped and he sent a pint of Guinness and a glass of Coke flying everywhere!!!! ?
You could hear the gasps of horror from the diners. ?
DH was frozen to the spot, while I frantically searched for a totally inadequate packet of tissues! Not good for my BP!!!
To make matters worse, he was wearing a light blue sweater. I'm sure you can envisage the state of his sweater.?
Apart from that I did have a nice morning out.
DD was getting ready for a wedding at our house, whilst we were out yesterday, as of course she needed mum to iron her dress and basically dress her!! (My bag, shawl, jewellery etc ?)
I now remember why I encouraged her to leave home. How can a 35 year old leave such a trail of disater?
DIL has offered to take me for coffee this afternoon, during the cup final, while DH is glued to the TV and DS1 is at the match. Depending how I feel, I may take her up on her offer.
Kitty, I hope you get some relief from your pain. I would love to go to your fleamarket, Mick, hope you have a successful day.
Scentia, not seen you posting on this thread before, so welcome and safe journey.!
Sorry I meant for kitty to get her tooth sorted out.
