This is obviously lighthearted!

Do posters picture other posters?

I see gonegirl as very slim, energetic, blond, busy, athletic and a good cook!grin

I see Maryeliza as a size 12/14 a reader and with a very wide social circle who does voluntary work.

I see urmstrongrsn as quite tall and slim, likes a night out, loud and cheeky but very soft heated.

grin feel free to add posters wink

Pittcity
Fabulous, with or without the make-up. smile

Oh dear rosecarmel something clearly got lost in translation.

You might not understand “awa an bile yer heid “ either.

Pittcity Fri 24-May-19 09:32:22

I have met many of you and nobody is as I imagined. I try not to picture people any more.
This was me in a GN video a few years ago. I have now grown out the blonde and am mousy light brown with silver highlights (natural) and still prefer gloss to lipstick.

Thanks Gabriella for your congratulations on my weight loss. It all started as I was nearing 60 (I’m 72 now). I saw a photo taken on holiday with some friends of ours and I thought ‘who’s that fat bird’ and it was ME ?

Post at 00.14 was to mcem

Apologies to Mycatisahacker.
It's a great pity when the OP took care to remind us that it was a lighthearted thread, yet snidey and cutting comments spoilt it...and not for the first time on GN.
What's with the hatchet jobs? Can't you be civil and polite?

rosecarmel Fri 24-May-19 00:23:06

I like you -- if it matters any- Even though my spelling and grammar are hideous ..

My husband knew that when he married me, and married me anyway- smile

GabriellaG54 Fri 24-May-19 00:14:14

You just can't bring yourself to name the person though can you?
You obviously haven't got the courage.
Sad indeed.
How can I be greedy when I have all I want and need.
Snobbish...haha...from Liverpool? Don't make me laugh.
Self important? Give me an instance.
I have as much right to correct grammar/spelling as anyone else. The fact that I choose to exercise that right at times is beside the point.
At least I don't pretend that poor spelling doesn't exist and that I 'know what they mean', when I don't.
I'm not one of the Emperor's New Clothes gang.
Any more digs at me and I shall report you for making me the target of replies and not the essence of the thread.
Whatever you do or don't like about a poster on GN, it should not in any way be reflected in a personal comment aimed at castigating that person simply because you don't like them.
You've made it clear that it's me you target yet you're too scared to actually come out and say so.
That says it all.
You know it's wrong.
If you don't like, don't read but you can't help yourself.

BTW, does your iPad/computer/phone not have what we call “full stops”, and you I imagine “periods” rosecarmel ?

No, all of my keyboards are postmenopausal- smile

rosecarmel Thu 23-May-19 23:54:11

I wouldn’t hold your breath rosecarmel -the Scots (and the Broons) don’t suffer fools gladly

Goodness, that's a lot of suffering for just one country-
I do wish you and yours speedy recoveries- smile

mcem Thu 23-May-19 23:27:57

I don't castigate others.
On GN I have encountered only one poster who is unfailingly unsympathetic, greedy, snobbish and self-important. Who claims a position of superiority along with the right to correct grammar and spelling mistakes despite the fact that she frequently makes those same mistakes.
These are traits I wholeheartedly dislike and am well aware that I am not alone in that.
(I'd also dispute the use of the term "non-narcissistic" in this context.).
I have outlined certain characteristics I dislike, while I tend not to dislike people.
However, if the cap fits............

I have a bit of a problem with this picturing people malarkey.

For a start I don't see any of us as 'old'. So many posters are witty, funny well read, kind, capable, wise etc and I can only imagine lots of lively women I'd probably enjoy chatting and laughing with over a cuppa.

Going on the news and politics threads more often than anywhere else I suppose (fool that I am) I have a picture in my head of some of the Grans I may be at loggerheads with. grin They are all very strident, upright and slightly imperious. I expect they are all doctor's receptionists - or leaders of WI groups, circa 1950, or failing that, storm troopers. grin

I jest.

Me? I am a dead ringer for a young Sophia Loren. Not.

MawBroonsback Thu 23-May-19 22:51:06

GabriellaG54 Thu 23-May-19 22:43:17

Do you have a problem with opinionated, self confident women mcem because you seem very bitter and scathing when no-one has given you cause to be so, not in this thread anyway.
I would look in the mirror and ask yourself why you need to castigate others who actually, in a non-narcissistic manner, like themselves.
I can't be superior as I'm from Liverpool and shop at Primark (among other stores)
That alone tells you that many women from Liverpool have oodles of confidence and I'm certainly not remotely pretty.
Maybe it's just that you'll never have my chutzpah.
Never mind.
If it pleases you to constantly find fault with me (which you always do with your snidey remarks) then go ahead, have fun. Small things amuse empty minds.

At least you can never be let down in dreams...
I watched an enjoyable film last night on iPlayer starring Pierce Brosnan. 'Love Is All You Need'.
6Not my usual cuppa but the scenery was good.
Subtitled from Swedish. I like subtitled films - more interesting IMO.
It gets removed in 90 minutes if you want to see it. smile

mcem Thu 23-May-19 22:20:32

Self doubt danni? That's for inferior beings!
A classic example of the old Scottish saying "She thinks she's Erchie!"
(Don't ask!!!!!)

callgirl1 Thu 23-May-19 22:03:32

I keep waiting for MawB to reply re the stew and dumplings, lol!
I`m short, fat, grey with a few leftover brown bits, and need a walking stick, my romantic liaisons are still what they`ve always been...……...dreams!

DanniRae Thu 23-May-19 21:55:08

Well someone doesn't suffer from self doubt, do they? hmm

rosecarmel Thu 23-May-19 21:22:46

I have that "thing", too -- appealing to both sexes- I think it's due to having "somewhat" of an androgynous look/appearance-

Despite cat fights, and what everyone truly looks like, I picture everyone being kind -- even Mawbroon .. smile

GabriellaG54 Thu 23-May-19 21:05:47

Sorry BlueBelle that comment is over my head. confused

BlueBelle Thu 23-May-19 21:02:27

After a write up like that I wonder why on earth women would seem catty Gabriella ???

GabriellaG54 Thu 23-May-19 20:03:18

Yes...I do have a sense of humour Gonegirl.
grin

GabriellaG54 Thu 23-May-19 20:01:33

Wow! That's some weight loss NanKate. Congratulations. ???
