Buggerations galore! I have managed to lose a very long message to you lot. I am livid. 
Greyduster I have always loved poppies.
That duvet labelled 'double' should have been returned to the shop for an exchange. How irritating. Now that you know, you will need to buy a larger duvet cover. 
Your daughter and menfolk must be one of the fittest families in the district. The thought of the Edale Fell Run leaves me breathless.

I'm about to add last night's 10:pm sunset and a flower with colours reflecting the orange and gold of the sky.
During our walk we paid a visit to a garden that a late friend of ours had helped to create about six years ago from a little corner of waste land. He died from brain cancer. This garden is a fitting legacy to his wonderful community spirit.
Before I tempt fate and lose this message, I shall post it before adding photos.

It is extremely hot in Malta. I’m not complaining. We did not have a good winter and it is lovely to see the sun, even if it is sweltering outside. I just nipped up to the corner shop and felt like I had climbed a mountain!
DD3 and her new husband are leaving for a short honeymoon in Spain later today. DD1 will go back to her life in California tomorrow. It is always hard saying goodbye, but it has been great having her here.

Soop your comment that your friend was a captain in the ACC reminded me of some truly delicious food I ate that came out of Army kitchens - and some of it was truly dire but that was a rarity! The finest meal I ever ate was when my DS retired from the RAF and the mess dined him out with seven courses of the most sublime food I have ever tasted. They did him proud. The Warrant Officer chef who oversaw it all had cooked for the Queen. Service cooks know what they are about!

I have just had my tea - kippers from the Craster Smokery with brown bread and butter and a large glass of Oxford Landing! They were delicious. I brought some back for my son in law when we went to Northumberland and he returned the gift by sending for some mail order. He and I share a passion for all things kipper. Without wishing to start kipper wars, Soop, I do prefer them to Loch Fyne, or Whitby for that matter!
I was sorting out the spare room for when DS finally makes up his mind whether he and his missus are coming to stay or not. The duvet I use on the double bed is a ten tog labelled “double”. Mysteriously, it has never fitted properly into a double cover and drove me mad trying to sort out the lumps. Today, DH said “I actually think it’s a king sized”. I told him not to be silly. So he measured it against a king sized cover and it is - a king sized! Who knew? It says double on the label!! Of course it never occurred to me, but then I am dim!
My DD and her menfolk have done the Edale Fell Run today (GS did the junior run) and SiL said it was the toughest most hair raising race they have ever taken part in. I have seen photographs of the course - he’s right; they are hair raising. I think they are all quite mad, but I am very very proud of them!
We had a walk down our back lanes today and I came across these poppies next to a field of barley. They looked lovely against all that green. Have a pleasant evening folks - sorry I have rambled!
Nannytopsy Watching and enjoying the antics of wild creatures, no matter what type, large or small, is the most rewarding time spent away from other duties. We do a lot of it hereabouts.
corner I know how you must have felt when you passed the road accidents. I always wonder who will be waiting at home and completely unaware that anything is amiss.
It is only natural to feel down in the dumps when chronic pain takes hold. Recently I had one totally pain-free day. For me, it was as good as it gets.
Mr C is indeed a star. Us lot say so. (((hugs))) for himself.

Rafa won in style. His opponent played a wonderful game. We caught the final set. The lunch was a light-hearted occasion. The food was delicious. Our pal was a Captain in the Army Catering Corps. Nothing ever fazes her. She is the type of hostess that I would like to be. As it is, I was the sober driver. Someone had to be.
I am going to read the Sunday paper. Am looking forward to a G&T mid-evening when we'll be watching 'Vera', one of our favourite dramas.

Not a lot happening here today, recovering from minding Littlest yesterday and a nasty motorway trip in both directions, one more than wet the other full of accidents, so sad for the folk involved.
Bit of a grumpy corner here today. Pain from everywhere is getting me down and we've still got cloud but the forecast says the sun is shining, how I wish it would be the other way around. Rain also forecast for most of the week which is worrying as there has been local flooding, including our nearest High Street which just couldn't cope with the downpour on Friday.
I do fret about water ingress, still not sure how I managed to agree to buying a bungalow with a river the other side of the fence. . With my logical head on the flood prevention scheme that has been completed will ensure any overspill goes the other way, now why don't I really believe that?
Mr C is at the bunged up and snuffly stage and of course the cough is alive and well. He says he feels OK so one positive there, he is a star, has just ironed all the bedding. Another positive is a supermarket order due to be delivered, always better than a fight with the trolley. The delivery confirmation tells me all is present and correct, phew, no off the wall swaps or holes in the menu for later, so a reason to smile.

Mr C us watching a film, I'm planning an hour or two with the computer sorting photos which always relaxes me so anticipate a lift in the grumps later.

soop, I am sorry you will miss the match. I missed the Federer/Rafa match due to having to entertain good friends who have come over for the weekend to attend DD3’s wedding yesterday.
I shall be rooting for Rafa today, although thought Thiem did a fantastic job against Novak yesterday.
I put some wedding pics on the good morning thread, but here are a couple more. Nice to have happy news, but it took all my courage not to fall apart when I saw DS giving his sister away in place of their lovely dad, who we all missed. Also, DD2 and DGD weren’t able to make it from the US due to problems with her ex who is causing misery over custody of DGD. Enough said.
Sorry I haven’t commented on everyone’s posts, but rest assured I have read them and those of you with troubles are in my thoughts.
