Yay! Napisan was around when my first born came along in 1961. did you use the muslin nappy inside the terry towelling one? Double the washing. I didn't have a washing machine. Would pummel the nappies (after a long Napisan soaking) in the bath. I didn't have a spin-drier until the second baby arrived two and a half years later. Us lot were made of stern stuff. 
Just for you n&g, the back gardens surviving still despite monsoon conditions here but the poppies in the front aren’t faring so well! Glad to hear Sam has recovered his dignity. Good luck at the weigh in, I always imagined a sometimes very forced wee immediately prior to clocking in at weight watchers made all the difference, never thought of going commando though

Off now to collect Pip the pup for her few days stay at granny’s house! It’s not looking like great weather for dog walking this week!

N&G Our Sam is a dog of discretion. He doesn't do fisty-cuffs that result in doing a wee behind the chairs and, having a thermometer up his nethers would have been the last straw. He deserves a day of peace, quiet and lots of pampering.
Lins1066 I am impressed by your daughter's energy and achievement. Your husband sounds to be as fit as any young fella. I hope that the weather perks up for him. It's warm and sunny here. Although, I know very well that, once the wet and windy stuff vacates elsewhere, it will sneek into Kintyre. Fair dos.
Ann I'm relieved to hear that the phone was found in a dry location. Many years ago, Torben put his Mummy's into the toilet. He was a toddler. He thought that it was a clever thing to do. His Mummy didn't agree.

Well I’ve had a this and that sort of a day where I’ve mainly been extremely idle. But of course there’s always a price to be paid for that, the price being a sudden flurry of activity late afternoon onwards as I remembered all the things I really meant to do today. Will I ever learn, at this stage in the game probably not!
Our Dorset mini break was very relaxing, a good mixture of time to ourselves and catching up with old friends. The weather was kind, at least some of the time, so we could enjoy the beautiful coast line.
Good news on your phone Ann, my dread is dropping mine down the loo! Do please be kind to yourself, no wonder you’re feeling so tired after the emotional upheaval and loss of the last few months.
soop lovely to hear that you’re feeling a bit more like yourself again. For goodness sake don’t go overboard and undo the benefit of the quieter period you’ve had. Isn’t it just marvellous to be in the right place at the right time and with a camera to hand! Bella what a lovely happy wedding it seems to have been, albeit with its own poignant moments.
Well the rest of the week looks like it’s going to be pretty wet. That’s unfortunate as we have dd2’s dog moving in tomorrow for a few days. They’re having their kitchen extended as well as some work on the front of the house. It’s now reached the stage of them mainly living upstairs, where of course much of the contents of downstairs are being stored. Dd is at the point of not being able to remember where she’s put things. So she came across this afternoon to leave all their bedding for me to wash/dry - given the weather, thank goodness for the tumble drier!. She took away clean bedding from here as she can’t lay her hand on theirs! Good job I have a well stocked linen cupboard! Poor girl it’s being going on for weeks and has a while to go yet. Like me she hates living in a muddle so is more than a little stressed. So Pip the pup needs to be out of the equation, the other grandparents have done a stint already so it’s our turn now.

Nannytopsy Sorry to hear that your get up has gone. Funny thing is, the opposite has been true for me today. The sunshine has perked me up no end. I've been helping MacSporran in the garden. Have helped him to clear the debris. Feeling much more like my old self.
Breast cancer nurse will phone mid-week. I may opt to return to the Letrozole therapy (as it is the best for my type of cancer.) However, if I have a relapse after a month or so, I may return to the hospital for a change of medication.
Panache Us lot are thinking of you and hoping that you have the support you need to help you with the move.
Care home visit tomorrow. After which, I shall pop into our kitchen for updates. I shall leave you with a pic of MacSporran after an afternoon in the garden.

I have done very little today but managed to get wet feeding the birds! My get-up-and-go has got up and gone today 
. I must do something before himself gets home or at least look busy!

Ann, if it has been through the wash, put it in a bag of rice for a couple of days. It worked with one of DS1's a few years ago so worth a try!

I love kippers GD but rarely cook them at home as DH chunters!!
Can't stop I'm all behind hand. How is it some days I can get loads done and, today for instance, I've not done the morning clearing up yet. We had an abortive trip to the garden centre - the heavens opened as soon as we got there so we came home - that wasn't supposed to happen till 11.00 - but I've never quite got organised since!
