Oooooh I’m all excited now......

annsixty Sat 15-Jun-19 14:58:03

The rain is lashing down here, we were promised showers, not another deluge.
My GGD has just popped in for some lunch annd lots of hugs, she is going to Dubai tomorrow with her friend and her friend's mum.
She is so excited, lots of folk think Dubai is awful but they have lots on their agenda, I do hope they will emjoy.
I am missing her already.
The Panaches sound excited as well about their new place, I also wish them every happiness and a good long time to enjoy it.
Molly is ensconced on the sofa in the conservatory, I can't keep her off so have invested in a Gtech handheld vacuum cleaner designed for pets.
When I come back next time I am coming back as the pet of a kitchener, they have wonderful lives.
Just a slightly different note here, I am suddenly missing my H so much, I just long to see him smile as I walk in the room.

Charleygirl5 Sat 15-Jun-19 14:15:58

Brodie does not look as though he is worried where his next meal is coming from. I am amazed he stood in one spot long enough for you to take a photo.

That is good that positive things are happening at the Panaches- it sounds as though they are doing well. When will they be moving?

Rip van Winkle here slept all night, sat down with a cup of coffee and woke up two hours later! At this rate I think the word slut will be wheedled in somewhere.

I am well aware that some are envious of my daytime sleeping, never mind nighttime and if I did not have a 4 legged alarm clock or a bladder, I do not know what time I would wake up.

It is becoming a minor buggeration.

soop Sat 15-Jun-19 14:04:55

I shall return later. Stuff to tell you. Hugs for you all.

soop Sat 15-Jun-19 14:03:43

Hello my darlings. It's a grey day. Never mind, there is not a thing that we can do to tame the elements. In many respects, I am thankful for as much. Interference from human-kind has much to account for.

Thank you, Lins for the uplifting message regarding our Panache and the upbeat news that they are enjoying positive assistance. It will help them both no end to have others step in and attend to whatever concerns them. Any move is a torment. Even more so when one is frail in health. flowers

Nannytopsy Charlie looks familiar. Have I ever painted his portrait? He's very handsome for his age. Your granddog looks stressed...NOT! Talk about "laid back". He obviously wants for nothing.

callgirl1 Doro phones! You have lost me. I haven't a clue what one is, or what it does.
Said hello to David yesterday. It was sunny and the campsite was busy.

Izabella Trust me...that cake, baked with love, will be delicious.
The song of the blackbird is a joy. It has such a vast range of notes that make me stop and stand still and listen. Priceless!

Ann The food mixer will be used again. When you are ready, you will be motivated. It's like my painting. I haven't lifted a brush for months. The time will come when I am inspired. After that, well, there will be no stopping me.

corner Us lot don't care how gooey the topping is. I shall be back with a large spoon. wink

Brodie has visited both during the night and day. We have filled his bowl "to the grim", as Torben would say. He leaves nothing behind. I shall include a photo taken of him early this morning. His appetite is mighty fine. I have to service his chalet a little later. Sweep and replace his mat with a freshly laundered one. Not forgetting tonight's supper - naturally. grin

cornergran Sat 15-Jun-19 11:50:24

As its still pouring here Ive been baking. A rare occurrence lately but it seems I have produced something edible so there's a (GF) chocolate sponge with far too much gooey icing on the side.

Totally tired of the rain here. Its not stopped for what feels like forever, seems very localised though as folk less than 10 miles away have sunshine. Oh well, our turn will come. May go out for a swim to the bus later and have a wander, or may resort to tidying cupboards.

TOYA. Be good everyone.

annsixty Sat 15-Jun-19 09:40:19

Your OH!!!

annsixty Sat 15-Jun-19 09:39:40

Thank you Izabella
You are always so kind with your good wishes for others, please enjoy all the sunshine you can find.
I wish you much success with your cake and a Happy Birthday to you ON when it comes.
I make a decent cake myself but oh, I just can't be bothered these days and if I do I only eat it.
One very good ,nearly new food mixer standing idle.

Izabella Sat 15-Jun-19 09:17:57

Still not in full 'catch up' mode with all the news, but at least I seem a little more with it this morning. Perhaps the sunshine, blue skies and joyous song of the blackbird sitting atop the oak tree has helped. Silly of me, but I am sure he comes to cheer me up.

Lovely pictures again and I am thrilled to hear the Panaches have moved forward. Please you have picked up too annsixty

This morning I am attempting a birthday cake for OH, but just a basic Victoria sandwich. Recent experience has taught me to use a recipe these days, hopefully resulting in a finished product with the right ingredients ?. CH is in charge of setting the oven temp. these days, and weighing ingredients for me - so hopefully all will work out.

To everyone else with buggerations of all kinds, I hope today brings some patches of sunshine.

? to all.

callgirl1 Fri 14-Jun-19 22:06:45

They both know how to relax NannyT! Charlie looks good for 16.
Lovely photos Soop, the one at Campbeltown harbour brings back some happy memories. Nice for you to have filled Brody`s tummy again.
Good to hear news of the Panaches, thank you Lins, send them by best wishes please.
Synonymous, things seem to be going well now, I hope Smokie`s tum soon settles down.
CharleyG, do you remember warning me about Doro phones? Well, mine arrived, and it`s going back! The blurb said it was unlocked to take any sim card except 3. My old phone is a Nokia, but the sim card won`t fit the Doro, so my dsaughter is taking me to town tomorrow to go round the phone shops with my old phone.
I know I`ll have missed out a few of you, but TOYA

Nannytopsy Fri 14-Jun-19 21:55:31

And this elegant creature is the granddog, who we pick up tomorrow.

Nannytopsy Fri 14-Jun-19 21:53:27

Some good news tonight from various kitcheners. This is Charlie - he is sixteen.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Jun-19 21:02:57

Back home on my sofa, good to hear from the “Panache’s”.

Nighty night ?

cornergran Fri 14-Jun-19 20:43:16

Thank you lins, positive news, do send Mr and Mrs panache my love.

Positive news from you too synonymous, other than smokies digestion, good to know you have had practical help. Wishing you both well.

Mixed outcomes from your blood tests grannyg, but seems more positive than not. Do tell your weight loss secret, I seem to have lost the knack hmm.

TOYA and be good everyone.

gransal Fri 14-Jun-19 19:34:10

Great news about the panaches Lins. Thank you so much, keep us in the loop if you can.

Doodle Fri 14-Jun-19 19:18:20

Oh lins thank you for sharing that information about the panache’s. Such good news ?

Lins1066 Fri 14-Jun-19 19:14:57

Lovely picture Soop that Gunnera is three times the size of ours.

I pm'd Panache today and she asked if I would share her news with you all. Firstly she has had trouble with her PC so has had a buggeration there. Fortunately she and Mr P have had two 'wonderful men' decorating their new place. They have also sorted their garden, trimmed, mowed and collected rubbish. This has been a great weight off Mr P's mind in particular.
Panache wants to let the GN Kitchen know that she is thinking of them and wishes everyone well. She apologises for not posting but is preoccupied with the pressures of moving. She sounds positive and to quote Panache :
" at the moment we are coping and healthwise things are not too bad, so no complaints at all.........although we could sleep for a month"
Good news indeed.

soop Fri 14-Jun-19 18:08:03

Thank you, GrannyGravy for updating us. You too have many buggerations to manage. Enjoy the joy of grandchildren duty. You will have deserved the reward of a meal out treat. wine

We had a very happy tea party with our friends. Home and ready to put stuff for our trip into the "Heelands" into the wash. Exciting times. grin

Goodnight for now. TOYA and I trust that we'll all catch up again tomorrow. smile moon

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Jun-19 15:38:52

Blood test was all good apart from “bad cholesterol” which is high.

Unfortunately I have osteopaena and the alendrolic acid medication has destroyed my stomach so cannot take it anymore, so I drink a lot of milk (well lattes and cappuccino!!) as well as yogurt for calcium, which in turn puts up cholesterol????

So another blood test in 3 months and see what they come up with. Next stomach appointment is next month, the joys of getting old!!!!

At least my BMI was good and I have managed to lose 2lb in 10 days (not sure how???)

I hope you all have a good evening, we are on GC duty till 7pm then out for dinner locally.

TOYA ??????

soop Fri 14-Jun-19 14:52:32

A beautiful, sunny good afternoon desr friends. Care home visit went well. Coffee in the Royal and chat with people that we meet on Fridays. Took a photo beside Campbeltown Loch. Will share with you.

Synonymous Thank you for an interesting update. Your dear husband is a trooper (as are you)...well done to you both.

gransal I like the luggage label communication. What a clever idea. Our Brodie called by and polished off a bowl of Tesco's finest dried cat food. I wasn't aware that he'd called until this morning. He has no fixed agenda. Like any self-respecting feral feline he suits himself. grin

Ann Off you go together with your good friend, good company is the best possible tonic for you. sunshine

Nannytopsy Have us lot a photo of Charlie for our beloved pet portrait gallery?

GrannyGravy Thinking of you. Let us know what's what - (if you so wish.)

gransal Fri 14-Jun-19 13:33:12

synonymous we have a little cat who visits us every day, started about 2 years ago. When she started I was giving her some treats. One night she arrived with a luggage label tied to her collar saying please don't feed me it makes me sick, although I do like cuddles.. I took heed and now just supply loads of cuddles.

annsixty Fri 14-Jun-19 12:34:12

Lovely to hear from you Synonymous keep up the good work and more importantly keep posting.

Synonymous Fri 14-Jun-19 11:10:09

Good morning the kitchen snd all you lovely lot! smile
I have tried to play catch up to no avail but have enjoyed the photos as always. Still not able to do very much but am so relieved to have some extra help in the house to do some of the things that overwhelmed me. It makes you feel so much better to have everything up straight.
Himself is doing well with his new leg and has had adjustments made to it which have made it more comfortable which means he does forget to take it off and check the stump is ok. hmm All is well so far and he is able to wear it for longer in each of his daily three sessions.
Garden friend is making the garden a joy to be in! I am about to order another pallet of mulch to help keep the weeds at bay - where do they all come from?!
Smokie is grounded at present as he has an upset tummy. I have a suspicion that one of my lovely neighbours may be feeding him treats (Dre***mys) which we know upset his internal workings. They are banned in our house because I am the one who has to clean up the messes although Smokie will do anything for just one of them (or preferably the whole packet). Not sure how to tackle that one as I don't know who or even if that is what is happening although that is what the 'evidence' points to!
soop we have similar photos of us in building mode and you do wish you still had that energy, wish I had bottled it for later (i.e. now)! grin
TOYA flowers

annsixty Fri 14-Jun-19 08:52:35

Thankyou GrannyG
I am certainly in a better frame of mind this morning.
My trip out yesterday did me a power of good and I am out for coffee with a friend this morning.
We managed a fairly dry day yesterday and I don't think it is raining now but at around 4am, when on a bathroom visit it was pouring.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Jun-19 08:22:57

Good morning all xx

Blood tests results today, I used to not worry about anything medical nowadays everything is a worry???

Let’s hope we have a drier day today, the sun is trying here but I think the clouds are winning.

Annsixty I hope your back is easier today.
TOYA x

Nannytopsy Fri 14-Jun-19 07:59:34

Charlie goes out and sits in the rain. When he is wet through he suddenly realised and comes in crying. We, as dutiful slaves, fetch a towel and gently dry him. Except for three o’clock this morning when he was ignored and left to sort himself out!
Do you remember that song
“How high’s the water Momma?
Six feet high and rising ...”
