Maw with her age and symptoms I think it may be kidney problems so heaven knows what the cost of treatment will be.

I am not sure where she is, probably like Hattie, crept upstairs but she now prefers her cat bed and has left "her" bed and room alone. Why- I do not have a clue. She is as loving as ever, even at 5.30am today but that was not appreciated by me.

Why do these things sneak up on us?
I had a theory when we were young marrieds with barely two pennies to rub together, that as long as I had £100 or even £50 in the building society I felt secure. It was when that savings account had dwindled or disappeared altogether that the domestic appliances or the utility bills would gang up on me.
Rainy days used to happen too frequently- still do.
I sincerely hope there is nothing amiss with Tara though, always a worry.
Hattie has taken to sneaking upstairs to a spare bed to rest her eyes and benefit from the sunshine on that side of the house. I haven’t the heart to disturb her!

My dishwasher has packed up and I took Tara to the vet yesterday as she is drinking too much water. The bill including blood tests was to be £194. She apparently curled up into a ball and would not allow anybody near her so they gave up. I was in the waiting room. She is going back on Wednesday to be sedated and the bill rockets to £450 or thereabouts. I am meeting for coffee with GNs later and I will need to be anaesthetised I think.

I think it would have been easier for her if I had been there.

On my way home

To keep my mind active I try and do the crossword in the paper every day. Sometimes I have to look up an answer in a Crossword Solver when I’m stuck. Many of you know I am dyslexic but I was stumped this morning when my misspelt search for Asian desert ? came up with the answer “apple pie”

Yes Anno is right and the big floppy flowers from big tubers are flag iris which come in lots of colours. I have some white Siberian iris too.

Surprisingly bright this morning. It was raining last night when I got home from the cinema. The film was Tolkien, a biopic about the Lord of the Rings author which was far more interesting than I expected.
Had a remarkably vivid dream last night. I was dancing the Gay Gordons with a very dishy young man (I was young too) who looked not unlike George Cluny. We went through all the phases of the dance twice and the music was playing in my head. Oh what a lovely dream! I wish it was a serial and I could have another chapter tonight! On second thoughts, that might be a let-down.

Good to see you safely back here Resurgam. The yellow flag irises are water-loving. I tried to plant some alongside 'my' brook, but nothing happened. From a couple of tubers, bought years ago, I have a huge clump of Siberian Irises, beautiful blue ones that look rather like the shop-bought irises but don't last long as cut flowers.

Very quiet here this morning. Mr C seems to have taken advice to rest after yesterday’s procedure to heart and is still asleep. I need to do a food shop at some point, otherwise think I’ll be demonstrating resting in case Mr C forgets how to do it .

Nannytopsy.

I have only just grown some Iris. They were in the garden cheap leftover area a couple of years ago and they are looking good .
I am not sure of the difference between types of Iris,s. They are yellow and white. I think they were some other ones.

Are the "flag Iris" the ones that like dry sunshine or the water?.

I think the weather over the winter has been kind to the gardens Resurgam - mine is looking good too. Last summer’s baking has given me a fabulous display of flag iris too.

One thing that has really cheered me up is the blackbirds in my garden this year.
I would love to know how many hours they spend singing in one day. Someone has probably worked that out.

That and the little robins sticking their noses into every thing.
And my garden is looking good .

I heard Marty Wilde on Loose Ends the other Saturday - last week? Amazing for any age but is he really 80? Hope for the rest of us yet!
