Can you hear the sound of hair being pulled out by the roots in utter frustration? Yep! It's me, as I've yet again lost a long post. Livid doesn't cover it.

Nannytopsy Do not settle for anything less than a caring consultant. Us lot are lurking in the background. 
Brodie didn't visit last night. It's a random visit when it occurs. He most likely has a vast territory. His "stamping ground" will stretch way beyond the newly spring-cleaned chalet. Providing he's safe, ( who on earth would dare to ruffle his fur,) he is free to please himself. 
Care home visit was shorter today. MacSporran had a check-up at the surgery en route and I had a knee x-ray afterwards at the local hospital.
Home at last. Glorious weather. It was raining in Campbeltown. Not here abouts.
I shall return in due course. 
Sorry to hear you're back at eye casualty Nannytopsy. Hope you don't get the same caring nurse as last time

I had an interesting trip to Birmingham yesterday wher I have volunteered to be part of a genetic screening research project into forms of Dementia. I had to give a DNA swab to see whether I have the gene they are looking for and while partly I would be glad if I don’t because it seems to increase the % chance of developing Dementia, but then I would be ineligible for the research program, on the other hand if I do, then I can be part of the project and the % chance of developing it later is still quite small. Anyway - a day out (with expenses)
An injudicious choice of bus to try to get back to New Street meant a bit of a walk in the centre where I came across this - the Knife Angel which some of you may have seen in other cities, like Coventry. It is made out of “handed-in” knives (to the police) I believe something like 100,000.
A very shocking piece of art work. Made me shiver.

Morning all !
We are back from Africa !! ( Well if not quite Africa certainly far away down the A47 lol !!) . We have returned the little boys home and are now quietly recovering from a weekend with a few drinks with their Mum and Dad and then crazy golf, giraffe feeding and gold medals won for being intrepid explorers !!
I have added a picture of the winners( please note ice-creams and new 'babies' were involved !!)
As usual these days, I am behind in the comings and goings of the kitchen so will just have to catch up later.
Lovely garden GrannieQ - Grampy is just trying to turn ours into something more than a big patch of lawn !! The little boys were VERY unimpressed as he banned football in the garden this visit to try and save his newly planted plants.

charliegirl I read your post too quickly and had to do a bit of a double take, wondering what cat business you wanted me for then realised I would have a free hand in your garden! Sadly I can’t take up your kind offer, my work here is not yet done!

It is doodle, thank you, it’s still a work in progress but has come a long way from the boring garden that it was 10 years ago. I don’t really know what I’m doing most of the time but I do love pottering about.

We visited Bletchley a few years ago dragonfly and like you found it a fascinating place. Can you imagine anything being kept so secret these days? On the subject of secrets, has anyone seen the film Red Joan, another fascinating story and as always Judi Dench was magnificent.
greyduster, that made me laugh out loud, better luck tomorrow! Poor Mr gd, tooth problems are no fun at all, be gentle with him! That’s a hard diagnosis for such a young woman to cope with anno, her positive outlook will serve her well. Hope she gets all the support she needs, you’ll worry for her.
mamissimo your sense of humour will help you get through these trials. When I was small i was convinced my nose was too big and it didn't look like either of my parents noses. I kept asking them whose nose I had....in exasperation my mum said “you’ve a nose like God only knows”...it didn't help!! Thankfully I grew into it and now I never think it looks too big...my ears on the other hand are a different atter!

Well I must away, I've lots to do tomorrow and I think a substantial list is needed. I’ll leave some garden photos, that's something else I need to do tomorrow, crack on with sorting out pots!

dragonfly When I was a child we lived not too far from Bletchley. Your visit must have been a real treat.
MacSporran has spring-cleaned Brodie's chalet. Swept and scrubbed on the outside and mats shaken and aired in the afternoon sunshine. Water trough hosed out, and it's all ready and waiting for boy cat to pay a call.
I have been thinking of the Panaches. Hoping that when I return tomorrow, there will be an update regarding the sheltered accommodation.
We've a care home visit tomorrow morning. After which, I'm to have my right knee x-rayed. The care home and hospital are not too far apart.
It's a lovely late afternoon. Plenty of sunshine. My best wishes to one and all. TOYA.
