Oh HAPPY, clappy day! Such good news from Panache. I can feel your pleasure at having found what sounds like an ideal next home. I felt as if I was accompanying you on the tour. Well manicured gardens tended by real gardeners sold the flat to me. Well done. You've persevered for such a long time. Now the tide is turning and you have good times to look forward to.

Our friend's Mum's 83rd birthday celebration was lovely. A gathering of close pals. A big birthday cake and a glass of bubbly. Her wee apartment was filled with flowers, chocs and...to her delight, a large toy furry dog that made woofing noises when it's head was stroked. After the noisy celebrations, the birthday girl was ready to retire to her bed for a well deserved nap.

Panache, very good news indeed. Great to have nice views to look at too. It’s been a long time, but thankfully you’ve at last found somewhere that sounds ideal for you both.

Panache I'm so pleased you have seen a 'desirable residence' and wish you smooth roads ahead. As I said before, moving to sheltered housing has been so good for me. Please do not try to do too much yourselves - money spent on packers and removers will enable you and Mr P to enjoy a more comfortable future together, and long may it last

Wow! Just been catching up and there's so many positives in the kitchen at the moment! That's not ignoring the not-so-positives that some of us are still coping with, but I'm sure all kitcheners are rooting for those struggling and sending good thoughts their way.

Beautiful photos from everyone. Otis looks so gorgeous I want to eat him - only a grandma can say that without being hauled in front of a judge (I hope) DGS and his mum visited after school today and he burst into tears on arrival as he told me the ice cream van drove off just as they got there. Poor lamb 'gets a bit hyper' on sweet stuff but it's so hard to deny a child an occasional delicious treat

Driving home from a local event this evening the skies were just ablaze. I just had to stop at the end of our road to take a photo, not the best as I only had an iPad with me!

corner I need to give you lessons on how to get to sleep. I fell asleep outside today watching my washing dry.

Tara has now gone to bed realising I will not be allowing her outdoors now. She and I have to be up early because my new dishwasher is arriving at any time between 9-2pm. Knowing my luck it will be 13.55.

soop I know you will not overdo the ironing etc because you are well aware we are watching you like a hawk! Your garden is stunning.

Had a sabbatical for a week or so. Will try and catch up with everyone, but had to come in the kitchen tonight following Panache's good news. Delighted to hear that Mr P was well enough to view the flat. They have some positives at last, few are more deserving.

So many gorgeous pictures of grandchildren and beautiful gardens, they have brightened up a rather bleak week.

I'm just dropping in for a coffee - had a very busy day in the garden planting out geraniums and begonias into pots. Feeling quite weary now, but happy to have got the job done!

I am so very sorry for the lapse in posting but please believe me when I say I have no time to blink these days ........even going to the loo calls for quite some arranging!!!!

Indeed though, in short we are the possesers of keys to a delightful flat,offering airy,bright south west outlook with huge picture windows overlooking the place`s well manicured garden areas.
In fact it was a real problem on arrival to find that now we both are in such deep need, our standing had superc eded all others awaiting accomodation,a first on their books.So we were offered a much larger 2 bed with walk in closets, 2 baths...........all newly adapted for wheelchair use .On viewing however it was very bleak facing north,not a spot of sun, a very mean view,plus at the very end of one long corridor which of course posed many issues.
We both felt immediately the one chosen though, still a 2 bedder was so cheery and uplifting just what we need right now.
So as you can imagine the next month or two I will have even less time as the process of moving and then selling here has to take place.

My dear one is having a fairly good run at the moment,tiring very easily, needing a daily nap or two,but he actually made it to the viewings and was as pleased as punch.Now busily organising decorators,removal men etc.

Please don`t even ask after me,my new clothes of last year are falling of me and I could sleep on a pin! However if we can actiually pull this move off ......and remain in a reasonable
state then that indeed will be a blessing.

So very sorry but I have no time for catch ups right now but I promise to drop by whewnever I get those odd few moments.

Thinking of you all and trusting all remain in reasonably good health and life is being kind.........TOYA with my love.

Charleyg It is good of you to update us after the second trip to the vet. I feel relieved to hear that you are both back in the comfort of your home. Please give Tara extra cuddles from us lot.

I shall not let you lot down. It's right that I get back into a normal routine (with periods of relaxation inbetween).

I shall return tomorrow. During the morning, our pal's 83 year old Mum will be having a wee birthday party (with cake and a glass of fizz). She is far from well but happy to be taken good care of by family and friends.

Guess who is sitting beside me being cuddled! I think possibly all has been forgiven until we go back next week!

GQ I think it was a case of a young vet nurse thinking I was ancient, 75 years old so possibly wondering how I can put one foot in front of the other. She was amazed I could open the door with the cat carrier in my right hand!

kitty Wolfie is just scrumptious. Dd4, now tall, slim and willowy, was just like that as a baby... a friend called her “thunder thighs”, my mum said she was “built for comfort not for speed! Sometimes in the Stroke Unit where she works the staff display baby photos of themselves as a fun way of encouraging patients’ observational skills by guessing who’s who, no one ever gets her photo right!

maw, I think my daughter got caught up in those rail delays, trying to get to south to London for a meeting. As you say no matter how inconvenient these things are it’s a blessing not to be the person who was so desperate or those who have to deal with it.

soop it’s lovely to hear you sounding more like yourself. Us lot don’t mean to nag, it’s just that we all care about you.... a lot x feelingmyage, kindness is a very under rated thing these days and a just a wee bit goes a very long way I find!

Lovely photos corner, hope you got some sleep in the end. I did see your post when I too was struggling to nod off to sleep. I’d had a busy couple of days in the garden and was tired and a bit bit achy all over, so why then knowing I’d a full on volunteering day today was I wide awake at well past midnight! ‘‘Tis one of life’s mysteries!

n&g, days like that are great, I love it when they come. I do like a bit of structure to my week but just enough to keep me knowing what day of the week it is... as for the date, now I’m no longer at work I’ve not not a clue!

Preparing for visitors tomorrow, my bil and his wife, it’s a bit of a shame that I get on so much better with his 1st wife, we’re still in touch. Its over 30 years since they split but it still makes for a bit of tricky visit. Hey ho onwards and upwards and as always toya x

The vet nurse also asked me if I was taking Tara home by bus! Somehow I do not think so- a stick in one hand and a cat carrier in the other? It would be two buses and a hike from the tube station. That would be a minicab day.

She was amazed that I drove and did not need any help to get madam to the car. Do I look so decrepit I ask? Those who know me please do not reply!

Would those two young men like some cuddles? They are both gorgeous.

Tara is home again but will not come remotely near me. She had blood and urine taken so it is winging its way to whichever lab is used but I will not get a result until the middle of next week.

Worryingly a little nodule was found inside one of her lips so that will be another discussion with the vet next week.

She was fed there but the wrong food- she is on prescription food. I am not that bothered but they really should pay attention because it could have been serious. She is to stay indoors today which she is not liking too much.

I am sure she will come for cuddles when we go to bed early tonight.
