Izabella you have my utmost admiration. I have been close to people with dementia personally and professionally over many years, and you are a star! If only you were able to give so many others your positive attitude

Good evening to everyone in soops lovely kitchen.
Not sure if savouries are as popular in the kitchen? I know cake is very popular but - but Maybe with a glass ?? or two! ??. Yep, that’s me this evening in Malaga!
Anyway, love to all and have left patatas bravas, gambas pil pil and some delicious tortilla on the side for those who may like it!

Please note, I am assuming goslings darted through the railings rather than farted through them 
.... mind you seeing the mess they make ..?
DH and I were out walking this afternoon and we came across 3 young goslings who had got separated from mum and dad by an iron railing. Gosling being small had farted through. Mum and dad on the other side couldn’t. Gosling were reasonably happy pecking about on the grass but mum and dad were frantic. They kept trying to squeeze themselves through the bars and making such a noise. They tried running (goose version of running) at the railings and throwing themselves at the railings to try and get to their babies. They were getting quite distraught. I couldn’t leave them like that so DH and I spent about 10 minutes very gently trying to coax 3 wayward goslings back through the railings to mum and dad. Eventually the family were reunited. Mum and dad checked everyone over and all seemed well. At that point, DH discovered that the large 6ft iron gate that we assumed was locked, wasn’t! We could have just opened the gat and let mum and dad through. Oh well, at least it gave the onlookers something to laugh at
soop so pleased to see you offload (some of?) your trials and tribulations here. You facilitate that for so many of us that I was seriously worried about you bottling up your own worries
syn did I read that right? You DH tried to balance himself on the bathroom scales on one leg? For a moment I thought you were going to say he overbalanced into the toilet pan A neighbour moved in a couple of years ago after a leg amputation. His previous home had a flight of stairs to the front door and he became housebound. He was 'over the moon' to move here, where he had ease of access at front and back doors. Unfortunately he later had to have the second leg amputated and that just would not heal and the visiting health 'care' was inconsistent. After a further hospitalisation he was rehabilitated to a nursing home, where he decided to stay as the wound was receiving daily attention and subsequently healed. A couple of neighbours regularly visit him and he comes to see us here too. I think what I'm getting at is that we worried more about him than he did himself. He's kept his infectious humour, his enjoyment of life and his determination to not 'let the bu**ers grind you down'
Oh soop, letting off steam is essential, otherwise you’ll go pop a bit like a pressure cooker with no steam valve. So please, just say what you need to. If you can cope it does sound as if talking to your GP about a referral to reinstate the surgery could make a huge difference to your quality of life. Sending a huge hug.
We all get to the end of our tether sometimes synonymous and truly your husband wasn’t the most sensible. Don’t give yourself a hard time. I’m so sorry for the name of this organisation, it’s not the most friendly, but a former neighbour used disabledholidays.com and enjoyed a holiday in a wheelchair friendly hotel. We all need a break at times.
Good to hear Tara is her usual bossy self charley. I visited a neighbour who has recently inherited a cat yesterday. I was assured the cat is friendly and will go to anyone. She took one look at me and stalked away, hmm, what does that say? .
Fortunately Mr C was recovered today so we were able to spend some valued time with part of the family. Life is so busy for them we worry about being a nuisance. Enjoyed some shopping afterwards and then sat in a motorway car park for what felt like forever on the way back. Still, it was worth it.

Synonymous I gasped on reading about your husband's unbalancing act in the bathroom. Yes...he could have done himself a right royal mischief. You on the other hand, would be duty bound to give him yet more support as he attempted to get himself back on track. Naturally you are zapped of energy. It's been a hugely stressful time and you are running on empty. Enjoy your daughter's visit. If you get a quiet moment, share your feelings with her. It is good to share. In doing so, somehow the heavy load of responsibility seems a little lighter.
You both deserve a proper break from routine. I hope that, before too long, you may be able to organise something.
Both MacSporran and I talk about taking a wee break. Thus far we haven't committed ourselves to anything.
I took my book to bed this afternoon. Read several chapters. Watched the birds flitting around the feeders outside the window. Saw a steady soaking of much-needed rain fall on the lush vegetation.
The rubgy match begins at 6:30 and I have already cleared the ironing so that I can relax during the thrills and spills.
I am thinking of you ALL. I also wish you a pleasant and peaceful Saturday evening.
