Lins1066 Yes indeed...MacSporran's two for real sweet pea plants have settled in nicely beside the mange tout. Overnight rain perked up the entire garden. It wasn't his fault that he returned home with the mange tout. The local village plant sale had a number of plants that still needed a good home. They are in a box outside the village telephone box. It wasn't until he took the plants out of the pots that he saw a wee marker saying "Mange Tout". Aww!

We planned a walk through one of our parks yesterday and because we had been invited to a barbecue at DD’s straight after, we asked if GS would like to go with us. As he was apparently getting under his dad’s feet trying to be helpful, the answer was a resounding “yes”. We took a football, of course ?. I don’t know why all our lovely parks seem to have rivers running through them, but they are a confounded nuisance because they draw footballs like a magnet! We managed to get it out fairly easily the first few times but then it seemed lost and all my entreaties to leave it where it was fell on deaf ears as Grandad went in to retrieve it and, following some inventive small boy advice called from the sidelines, managed to get his feet very wet. Expletives were muttered! It could have been worse had he not been wearing shorts. I apologised to a lady sitting on the bank with her dog for my menfolk disturbing her peaceful afternoon and she said she should be paying me for the entertainment! Having wrung his socks out and dried his shoes as much as we could, the rest of the walk went without (much) excitement, and there was very good “proper” ice cream halfway round. We all looked a bit the worse for wear when we arrived back a DD’s - I could see she was actively considering whether she would let us past the front door or send us round to the tradesmen’s entrance?!!
Himself and I have a quieter day planned today. He is aching from all his exertions!

I am so behind on kitchen matters , it’s been a busy old weekend so far as we have had the joy of the company of the littlest man !
We are returning him home today so by tonight we shall crash and burn ! I totally understand Galen , lovely but exhausting.
We took him to the dinosaur park yesterday , we told him that a T. rex was loose looking for lunch . His face was a picture when we turned a corner and found a 12ft dinosaur walking down the path !! I don’t know who ran quicker him or Grampy !!
Your broccoli should freeze well Ann . I have to say I gave up blanching , I don’t think it makes much difference. I just chop into florets and freeze .
I’ll leave you with a couple of pictures from yesterday . The sign of a good day is a sleeping child on the way home lol We’re off to the forest for an hour before the long drive back !
