What're your bad habits?

And I mean ones which by your own judgement, rather than anyone else's, you would rather not have.

I run hot, soapy washing up water and then walk away because it's just a wee bit too hot for my hands, and then forget so that when I get back to it, it's cold. angry

I hate wearing rubber gloves, so that isn't the answer. A timer is and I have one - but I forget to set it grin

So, what little imperfections do you admit to?

1) Making arrangements to go out then not wanting to go when the time comes.

2) Hanging onto clothes I no longer fit into leading to ...

3) Procrastination about dieting - I'll start tomorrow - leading to ......

4) Buying more clothes I don't need.

5) Deciding a job needs doing but I'll just come on GN first grin

I'm the most indecisive person in the world, - I think.
I drive myself mad with it.

Diggingdoris Wed 01-May-19 11:11:32

BradfordLass thank you for agreeing. Trouble is when I know someone's coming I have to charge about like a mad thing cleaning and tidying! Exhausting! If visitors catch me unannounced I try to steer them into the garden as it usually looks gorgeous!

Nail-biting! Gosh I could get a Nobel Prize for it!

I can remember doing it at three years old - now I'm going downhill to seventy and I can't stop.

Happysexagenarian Wed 01-May-19 10:11:56

I'm the same as so many others here - procrastination and putting off doing things. Then I feel guilty about it and have a blitz of activity which is exhausting. Otherwise I'm a Mary Poppins - I don't think !

Slobbing around in my dressing gown on GN etc, like now. Must get showered and dressed, I have a load of washing to hang out.

Diggingdoris Those aren't bad habits, they're pleasures smile

Nannyxthree Wed 01-May-19 08:33:39

over thinking things ( it sounds better than anxious) and taking on more than I can cope with now I'm older!

Evie64 Tue 30-Apr-19 20:07:39

Smoking! Yes, I know, I know, I really do know. Been smoking since the age of 14 and 64 now and so far, completely unscathed. Hate it when people lecture. I'm an adult, a free thinking independent spirit who makes her own choices in life. Sigh, as she lights up....... smile

Oh and I like to have things 'just so' in the house. I saw a card the other day that described me perfectly. grin

"I am very flexible, as long as things are just the way I want them"

Day6 Tue 30-Apr-19 19:53:04

I know I can be envious. Not in any sort of spiteful way, but when others seem to have things come easily I resent the fact I always seem to miss out on luck and that life has generally been a slog. I doesn't last long. It's a momentary thing and I am always able to count my many blessings, which sort of cancels it out.

I also tend to leave things till the very last minute. It's the only motivation I have. I tell myself I will be more organised and do things when I have time but I am queen of the last minute rush! (Never miss a deadline though!)

Why bother ironing Legs55? Iron it when you need to wear it. That’s my philosophy, anyway my things only get squashed when in the draw or wardrobe, and then need ironing again!

OPgrndtr Tue 30-Apr-19 19:27:33

I only wash the windows on the front of my house.

Grannyrebel27 Tue 30-Apr-19 19:18:30

I am a big dressing gown sitter on my days off. I sit for hours watching breakfast TV and any old rubbish. Another one is throwing things into cupboards untidily to the point that something eventually falls out!

Grandmama Tue 30-Apr-19 19:04:03

Several years of paperwork waiting to be sorted and filed.

Worry and anxiety . . .

(1) What should I wear? Deciding what to wear on the basis of what whoever I'm going to be with will think of my outfit (they probably don't give a damn about what I'm wearing!)

(2) Did I upset X or Y or Z? Usually with no evidence that I have upset them.

(3) Mulling over again and again over something that has happened when there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. And probably nothing I could do about it anyway. And it probably doesn't matter anyway.

Procrastination - flying by the seat of my pants, hoping I'll get away with not having done something important.

GabriellaG54 Tue 30-Apr-19 18:12:46

...and being too outspoken. wink

GabriellaG54 Tue 30-Apr-19 18:11:01

Hmm...er...?
1) Starting to get ready to go out 30 minutes before having to leave.
2) Shopping.
3) Making sure that everything in the home is 'just so' before going out. anywhere.
4) Insisting on giving gifts for lifts.

Buying plants and flowers. Just can’t resist. If I see a good deal, in the basket they go. Trouble is as on crutches, can’t dig the holes to put them in. As live with daughter and two grandsons, have to wait for the right moment to ask them to get the spade out. I see the look on my daughters face every time come home with more but just cannot stop.

tinaf1 Tue 30-Apr-19 16:29:07

Maggie maybe I also still bite my nails mind you state of mine have put my granddaughter off of biting hers so every cloud eh? ?
Nanny loves shopping forgot I do that one will add it to my list ?

eilys Tue 30-Apr-19 16:19:44

Yes I am told I do when watching football, so my family say,but they are liars,l would never do such a thing

KatyK Tue 30-Apr-19 15:41:01

My DH always says 'I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure'. smile

Tallyann1 Tue 30-Apr-19 15:35:56

Me too !!

Diggingdoris Tue 30-Apr-19 14:14:41

I keep putting off doing housework, and then find myself pottering in the garden instead, and end up spending the whole day out there.
My other sin is reading in bed at night, when I'm really tired but the book is so good I just have to read one more chapter, then one more etc.

quizqueen Tue 30-Apr-19 14:01:53

I constantly leave cups of tea to get cold so have to reheat them in the microwave. I always speak my mind - not usually welcomed on this site, where most people (and moderators) seems to only want a watered down, politically correct response!!

Amagran Tue 30-Apr-19 13:53:38

I'll put my post on this thread later.......if I remember....grin
