Shameful confession!

DGS2, age 4, knows all the songs and dances from The Greatest Showman. I wouldn't have watched it otherwise.

I personally quite liked Frozen, my small grandchildren were crazy about it, I bought them elaborate Elsa outfits from the Disney store.
Now, it’s so uncool, they cringe at the mention of it!

Not seen The Greatest Showman but the DGDs have the CD of the songs which I thought were awful. Just cannot see the pointing lot of the modern pop stuff. (Reminds me of what my Dad thought about The Stones). Loved the first Mama Mia, not seen Here We Go Again. Really really wanted to see Dunkirk but when I did see it I was too impressed, bit too arty for me. Not seen La La Land, don’t ever want to read or see 50 Shades. Loved Bohemian Rhapsody once I’d got used to the teeth. Thought Frozen was awful.

They are doing a prequel to Grease apparently, about how Sandy and Danny first met.

To be honest, the first 30 mins were really boring but the end is fab xx

I was staying with son & DIL who had already bought & watched The Greatest Showman and were quite happy to watch again with me as they were sure I would enjoy the film I didn't, but did not like to let on as it was supposed to be a treat for me (glass of wine & chocolates included). Enjoyed Mama Mia for the music but not seen Mama Mia 2, did not understand why everyone raved about La La Land as I thought it totally over rated. 50 Shades did not appeal and although I have seen plenty of copies in the charity shops definitely won't be tempted. My friend gave me the Miniaturist as she had enjoyed it so much and usually we have similar tastes in books but that again was one I did not enjoy.

I have never seen The Greatest Showman
I thought Mama Mia had great music but a feeble story line
I LOVE Grease and can watch it often but Grease 2....No thank you!

I only saw LaLa Land on television, and turned it off after less than half an hour.
Pleased I didn’t go to the cinema to watch it!

I agree that La La Land is dire.

Did like Greateat Showman and absolutely loved Mamma Mia 2 ( and 1) but loathed La Land I haven’t read Fifty Shades and never have any intention of doing so

Still enjoy watching Grease now and again!

I didn't think much of Dunkirk, either. Darkest Hour, on the other hand, was utterly brilliant.

Didn't much care for Les Mis either - except for the Master of the House bit, with Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter. Would almost watch again just for that.
Dh loved it all, though.

At the moment I'm happy that my very little Gdcs (just 4 and 2 3/4) are into exactly the same old films/musicals their mother adored at the same sort of age - and still does! So we dig out the lovely old Disneys, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jungle Book, and The Sound Of Music, South Pacific etc., they really love the songs - among others Gdd loves singing about Washing That Man Right Out Of Her Hair!
They don't make them like that any more!

Never read 50 Shades, I have got a Liane Moriarty in my ‘to read’ pile though, and now I’m reluctant to read it!
Having said that, my daughter hated The Miniaturist, and I loved it!

I loved The Greatest Showman and Mama Mia. One film and stage show I absolutely hated was Les Miserables. A few hours of my life I'll never get back.

Fifty shades was badly written, we had lots of copies donated to our library. I also agree about Liane Moriarty, bit of a one trick pony.
I have found that lots of books are hyped up in the media but when you come to read them they are absolute tripe. I have been caught out by this several times.

I only saw my DGS's version of the 'Greatest Showman'. Here he is -

Absolutely loved Greatest Showman, even my husband enjoyed it, watched the DVD with grandchildren dozens of times!
Didn’t like LaLa land though!

CrazyH I did see Greatest Showman in the cinema and found it intolerably bad

Like sunseeker I volunteered in a charity shop which had loads of copies of 50 shades. The manageress would allow the volunteers to borrow a book as long as it was brought back so I borrowed one. It was so boring I didn't bother to read it all.
Bohemian Rhapsody was wonderful at the cinema but on a small screen on the plane, it was not as good.

sunseeker I hated it I thought it was a dreadful film and came so close to walking out I didn’t enjoy *Bohemian Rhapsody that much either it was better than Greatest Showman but not up my expectation but I absolutely loved every minute of Fishermans Friends

I feel the same way about Les Miserables., the show and the film. Don't very often voice this as my DD and GDD's rave about it.

Chewbacca I didn't like LaLa Land either.

I haven't read Fifty shades and don't intend too.

I watched Lady in a Van feeling so sorry for both of them, her mental health issues were quite overwhelming and I just could not see why others were finding it a funny comedy to enjoy.
