Shameful confession!

Even more shocking I have never watched and nor will I ever watch MAMAMIA!

Didn't enjoy the Greatest Showman although I do like the music. Didn't like Dumbo. Bohemian Rhapsody was so-so, but loved A Star is Born. Preferred the original Mama Mia...........can you tell I've been flying a lot recently? ?

I loved the music in The Greatest Showman but it lacked depth in the storyline. I agree with GrannyGravy 13 about Dunkirk. I think the hype about the films makes our expectations high and we are disappointed by the real thing!

I dislike it intensely. I'd read the real life story of PT Barnum and this was just a saccharine telling of the tale.

I also hated Les Miserables. All that warbling just grated on me.

I disliked it too and also could not understand the fuss over La La Land I thought that was abominable, not a patch on the older musicals it was supposed to be like.

I didn't particularly like it either, and I love musicals. Oh btw I have never liked Les Miserables either.

Oh thank goodness I'm not alone, I was too scared to admit it?. I am glad there are brave souls out there ?

Also Game if Thrones, which I haven't watched a second of but just know from all the talk that it's full of violence, rape and all the stuff that I just don't think is entertainment.
Lady in the Van was a poor depiction of the book, even with Maggie Smith.

A friend convinced me to accompany her to Les Miserables a few years ago, saying " I know you don't like musicals but you'll love this" She'd already seen it several times. I agreed to give it a try and could hardly stop myself from falling asleep!
Over rated actors? As well as those mentioned, Keira Knightly gets right up my nose, pout and smile seems to cover her range. Ok bitching over.

Didn't like Greatest Showman either but I think I have an even greater confession - never watched Game of Thrones (or wanted to) and gave up on Line of Duty after the first couple of episodes.

I know, I know - there is no hope for me!

For those who hated 50 Shades of Grey - a friend gave me a copy saying that I'd like it because it's "far more psychological than you'd think". I lasted 3 chapters - struggling with the APPALLINGLY bad writing. I couldn't bring myself to take it to a charity shop - why inflict it on others - and put it in the compost bin instead (which felt more suitable).

Can I add The Favourite to the list of overrated films? What was that soundtrack all about? So grating and the film was not funny at all.

I haven't seen it either i only saw sound of music for the first time 5years ago but I do watch Calamity J at least once a year

Never seen Game of Thrones, never seen Line of Duty, which does tend to leave me out of most of the conversations at work!

Are the dislikes of Mamma Mia for the second film? Haven't seen it and have no deisre too - but have seen the original many times and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Loved Jersey Boys and Les Mis on stage - unlike GG2213 I loved some (the most well-known* of the songs - I heard Dave Willets (the then star) singing Bring Him Home on tv before seeing the musical and thought it was absolutely beautiful.

And never read 50 Shades of grey!

Ditto here! And Game of Thrones? My daughter doesn't understand why I am not hooked! Mama Mia- just not good!

I loved Greatest Showman- I've watched it 5 times now.

I think to love BoRap you need to have been a Queen fan .
My DH is quite obsessive about them & we saw them loads of times- although not since Freddie died- just would not be the same. I prefer Stones & Bowie but Queen were great 'live'.

Turned off LaLa Land after 20 boring minutes & Mama Mia was very ordinary although I did love the stage show.

La La Land hated that too

Song-writers just don’t seem to be able to write clever words and catchy lyrics like they did in the ‘old days.’

I couldn't watch beyond the first three minutes of La La Land. OH thought it was wonderful. I loved Les Mis and Mama Mia, but can take or leave The Greatest Showman. I do agree that The Favourite was strange and not at all amusing in any sense.

I've never watched either GoT or Line of Duty. It seems I'm not alone...

I can't say I disliked it, but I did find it meh. My 8-year-old loved it though, and I endured the DVD until the end.
Mamma Mia 1 & 2 are dire. None of them can sing (except Cher), and the plots are totally cringeworthy. Again my 8-year-old enjoys them, so I have to grit my teeth when he watches them for the 10th time. I don't find Lily James endearing.
La La Land was truly abysmal, so boring, I nearly fell asleep.

I didn't finish it either! My daughter said 'You gotta watch this Mum - you will love it!' I had to admit that I found it pointless and tedious and just didn't get it. I do love Game of Thrones though - and anything dark and Nordic.

Find it thoroughly amusing that any one of us should feel any sort of chagrin at having individual tastes. Thank heavens. That's what makes us so interesting and attractive to each other methinks. I too have my favourites but they're pretty old fashioned. I throw into the ring.....West side story.

Yesterday we took our little grandsons to see the new Dumbo film. As soon as it came on I realised it was another Tim Burton Film. Similar dark set, even the circus people resembled the Showman troupe.
My 15 yr old GD went to see Dumbo 2 weeks ago and was devastated by the changes. She said most of the original songs had been cut - even the one by the Crows about “When I See an Elephant Fly”. She isn’t looking forward to the new Lion King either! One has to wonder why anyone would want to revamp such Disney classics which have been loved by generations of kids and adults.

I didn't like the Greatest showman either. Left me completely cold! Like Chewbacca, I have no intention of reading 50 Shades !
