Shameful confession!

I was laughing about Mama Mia while my sister and criends thought it was great. I will confess I loved A Star is Born. I love Lady Gaga being "Stephanie" while I also have a crush on Bradley Cooper!"

Havent seen it. No desire to...so does that out me in the not liking it category?

Can I suggest that anyone who didn't like The Greatest Showman watches Barnum instead. Same story but wonderful production with Michael Crawford in the leading part. I could watch this one over and over again.

I have not seen The Greatest Showman. Did not like Lala Land. Liked Bohemian Rhapsody. Did not like Les Mis. Have read all three of the Fifty Shades books, got at a charity shop for 50 pence each, and thought "I can do better," Her new book The Mister is out now, May give it a go if I see it in a charity shop.
What somebody thinks is good may not be what another thinks is good.

La La Land was like being promised a cup of coffee and being given a cup of froth. No substance at all.

I haven't yet seen 'The Greatest Showman', though quite looking forward to it.

However, like another poster on here, I really can't abide 'Mama Mia' - can't think of anything endearing about a woman who was stupid enough to casually sleep with THREE different men in the same month without taking precautions! On top of that, I was never actually an Abba fan, in the first place, so the music doesn't even have an appeal for me - in fact, I'd find it very off-putting.

Despite saying that I was never an Abba fan, I absolutely LOVED 'Priscilla Queen of The Desert' ;-)!

I haven't seen it but my daughter and 7 year old granddaughter absolutely loved it.

Marilla I am with you on the Harry Potter books and films! I can understand children liking them but I have family members in their 40s and 50s who are obsessed!

I have to confess to loathing Mama Mia. I much prefer the the old Hollywood musicals some already mentioned.
I also have to admit to Gransnetters that I don’t enjoy Harry Potter books or films and have to pretend to my Grandchildren that they are great.

I liked mama Mia but maybe because I saw it at the cinema with my DD and it just made. Me smile. I haven't seen Greatest Showman. What did people here think of La La land? I TV nought it was OK but not as brilliant as everyone said and not really Oscar nomination worthy.

I didn't like Wicked musical and neither did OH. Infact we left half way through. Think what some people like doesn't suit others regardless of the ratings.

100% agree with you I can’t understand what all the fuss was about, definitely not my thing but that’s what makes us all different.

I feel the same as most of you, but feel quite sad as well. The reason being is that my cousin Paul Massey who lives in LA is the sound recordist for the film and actually went towards the Oscar he won earlier this year. ( Such a big award) So I was expecting it to be extra special which it wasn't and I was disappointed. I will probably watch it again just for the music which was good I thought. But otherwise boring.

Haven’t seen the Greatest Showman (and don’t think I’ll bother after the comments on here). Also disliked LaLaLand. Loved the stage shows Les Mis, Phantom, Mama Mia, Blood Brothers, Lion King and War Horse (was fascinated by the puppets and how it’s so easy to forget they are puppets after a while).
Also have no intention of reading 50 Shades.

I haven’t watched or read any of the above except did see The Lady in the Van and was astonished how people thought it a sentimental smiley thing...except where I saw it in small independent in Headingley near where AB grew up. A bit of s silence and some hint of pursed lips. I mean why couldn’t he have installed a portaloo in his garden. In for a penny.

Going to see Dumbo at the weekend, so far have loved all the remakes, Mary Poppins, Jungle Book, and I especially loved Beauty and the Beast, so hope Dumbo won’t be a disappointment

I did like The Greatest Showman, but hated Mamma, Mia!

I didn't like the Greatest showman either. Left me completely cold! Like Chewbacca, I have no intention of reading 50 Shades !

Yesterday we took our little grandsons to see the new Dumbo film. As soon as it came on I realised it was another Tim Burton Film. Similar dark set, even the circus people resembled the Showman troupe.
My 15 yr old GD went to see Dumbo 2 weeks ago and was devastated by the changes. She said most of the original songs had been cut - even the one by the Crows about “When I See an Elephant Fly”. She isn’t looking forward to the new Lion King either! One has to wonder why anyone would want to revamp such Disney classics which have been loved by generations of kids and adults.

Find it thoroughly amusing that any one of us should feel any sort of chagrin at having individual tastes. Thank heavens. That's what makes us so interesting and attractive to each other methinks. I too have my favourites but they're pretty old fashioned. I throw into the ring.....West side story.

I didn't finish it either! My daughter said 'You gotta watch this Mum - you will love it!' I had to admit that I found it pointless and tedious and just didn't get it. I do love Game of Thrones though - and anything dark and Nordic.
