7pm and the Bra is off.....

Since moving to non-wired bras, I no longer feel the need to take it off when returning home from work. The wired versions have all been thrown away!

It’s weird, when I’m out and about, don’t notice the bra. But as soon as I’m home, it has to come off! But I’m the same with shoes these days. Only comfy boots make me happy.

ReadyMeals I have that too. As littleannie says its probably costochondritis although I do have fibromyalgia too. A paun relieving gel or cold compress might help. I also found a really comfy front closing bra (its actually a post surgery bra! )

I wear a sports bra all the time. (I get sports bras that are comfortable and not too tight.) I sleep in them as they are so comfortable.

I'm a take it off asap! Have been for most of my life - my breasts have changed loads during my lifetime from medium to large to small then miniscule! nowadays I wear the ones in between sleep wear and sports wear as the norm and only don the wired ones for short periods when dress/situation required - then get it off asap!!!! Am so much more comfortable being without them. Always have been, so not an "age thing" for me.

32E/F here, so sleep bras are no good as they just shove it all into a 'monoboob'. Mostly I'm comfortable, but sitting down in the evening the band round the bottom can start to dig in - why do they make them so narrow??
When I first started wearing a bra I kept trying to breathe in so that the bottom of it would drop down round my waist where it would be comfortable.
It makes me wonder why anyone would want to undergo male to female gender reassignment (I know someone who has) when they would have to strap themselves up in a bra.

I only wear a bra if I go out. I have released my inner hippy/Charlie Dimmock at home and no longer wear a bra under my t shirt. They seem so restrictive and uncomfortable of late.

I do keep a cardigan hanging in the hall in case of callers., and for reasons of decency. The old 'chapel hat-pegs' still tend to have a mind of their own and poke out at inconvenient moments unfortunately.

As I walk in the front door from work I am removing all my clothes, including the bra. Leggings and a baggy top. Unattractive I know, but sooooo comfortable.

I don't find bras uncomfortable, quite the opposite, I feel uncomfortable without one. I wear one even at night, as advised by the midwife who led my ante-natal class nearly 40 years ago! They're usually underwired as well.

I stopped wearing ordinary bras when I retired. I now wear an ahhhh bra ( or similar) , pull on , no seams. If you need more support you can layer them and wear 2. No one can tell the difference and they are soooo comfortable .

Never thought about taking my bra off before bed time, perhaps I’ll give it a try. Fortunately I’m only an A cup but M&S light as air t-shirt bras are very comfy.

Same here, although I was recommended by my Doctor to always wear a Bra if I wanted to keep their shape.

I am ok with bra on until after dinner in the evening, then it’s nice to change and be comfortable.
A few years ago we went to a neighbours house for drinks and an evening meal, and wanting to look good I wore a lovely lacy bra that was actually a bit too small, but gave a good shape under a dress.So far so good.
After lengthy drinks, then the meal, then the pud, then coffee......?the bra became more and more agonising.
I went to the loo and took it off, luckily I had a scarf in my bag, which I draped round myself, haha.
The moral of the story is not to be vain about bras, and always have a scarf in your bag ( they cover stains too.)

I sometimes do gardening etc without a bra on, but do feel a bit self-conscious if neighbours stop to talk - even although I know I shouldn't bother.
I often take my bra off in the evening - my husband thinks it's some sort of magic trick when I manage to take it off without taking my blouse/jumper off !
I also find the straps slip off my shoulders no matter how I adjust them.
Looking for recommendations for comfy non-wired bra - most I've tried don't give a very flattering shape, but I will persevere.

I can’t stand bras, they make my back ache. I normally wear a sports bra if I wear one when out and as soon as I am home I take it off. Most days I just wear one of my Ambra very comfortable seamless, stretchy tank tops that I think are as good as a sports bra.

None wired soft cotton or sports bra style are so much better and not restrictive. Big bandwidth between each breast helps support your frame and helps your posture. The stretchy material means it moves with you too.
I brought some from the giant online retailer -made by Lilly and Lilly plus a few stretch maternity ones which are heaven, not branded ones.

Does anyone remember Mava breastfeeding bras? They were recommended by the NCT and had a sort of lace up arrangement at the back. I got a couple by mail order and the sight of them reduced MrA (and me) to helpless laughter for several minutes.

When my husband was alive we got ready for bed at bedtime. Now 6 pm is PJ time and I love it. I would much rather have him and a cuddle up on the settee but you have to find new rituals to make life bearable and being comfortable is one of them.

Hmm, yes I do take no e of more or less when I get in. Depends if I'm alone or with someone, however, I do wear a sleep bra (Bravissimo) or a sports bra when I take the day one off as I don't want saggy breasts.
I do always change into leggings and cami top, bare feet. I wear as little as decently possible. Don't like jewellery or scarves...no rings or watch. I didn't even wear an engagement or wedding ring. No nail polish except on toes and no make-up.
I'm as bare as they come.

When was it decided that women should (must?) wear bras? My mother, who was a "flapper" in the 1920s, never wore one until my wedding in 1964. She wore corsets as she grew older, but not bras. Women seem to have survived without them in earlier generations!

Happy keeping my bra on but as soon as possible I put my pj bottoms on and a lightweight sweatshirt. In fact I have them on now.

Not only will the bra be off by 7 pm, so will the jeans, the jumper, the pants, the earrings, the make-up and anything remotely restricting.

The nightie and dressing gown, however, will be on. Don't want to frighten anyone.
