Having heard that Ukraine has elected a comedian as president I wondered who I'd vote for if we had to elect one.
Josh Widdecombe would cheer us all up. David Mitchell might be too intellectual and cynical. James Acaster too off the wall.
Possibly Rob Brydon? I'm not sure.
Not interested in responses commenting on current politics please.
Who would you suggest?

I live near Jo Brand and she is very different to how she is on tv.........she's quite miserable. Not a 'people person' for sure. I would not vote for her!

An interesting result for the Ukraine.. I'd not long ago remarked to DH that the most intelligent, thoughtful, thought provoking and interesting responses on BBC's 'Question Time' seem to come from the comedians more consistently than from other panel members...... I'm a Billy Connolly, Susan Calman sort of voter maybe with a small dash of Frankie Boyle.... He's been a bit eye popping recently...but who can blame him??

Billy Connelly - talks so much sense, and has a real caring nature - he also doesn't stand any crap!! If Billy felt he was to old for the job, then bring on Bradley Walsh !!

James Acaster

Peter Kay or Lee Evans

The legend that is the Big Yin (Billy Connolly) or Frankie Boyle. Or if we're allowed to nominate people of other nationalities (who also happen to be deceased...lol), then Bill Hicks!

Yes Rhodd Gilbert for me as well Annie. Also I don't get this Mrs Brown thing, hate it.

Bathsheba Wed 24-Apr-19 11:53:28

Michael Macintyre
Jo Brand
Jack Whitehall and his dad (or perhaps just his dad? grin)
Romesh Ranganathan
Peter Kay

But please, please, please, not Stephen Fry. He wouldn't have anyone in his cabinet with him, because he'd be able to do it all himself ?. And anyway, can you imagine anyone wanting to serve under him?

Tinydancer Wed 24-Apr-19 11:38:48

Frankie Boyle, tells it like it is and no bull****. He comes across and a deadpan quite rude comic but if you listen to his message he is a compassionate person. He has the shock factor for me but that gets my attention.

Definitely Rhod Gilbert,he would channel his "anger" into sorting out Brexit in no time and then make us laugh telling us how he did it!

JohnD Wed 24-Apr-19 11:29:35

Why not Brendan O'Carroll . Does anyone know him?

Aepgirl Wed 24-Apr-19 11:28:34

Michael Macintyre - he can make me laugh whatever mood i’m In.

Susan56 Wed 24-Apr-19 11:22:32

Jo Brand

trisher Wed 24-Apr-19 11:19:39

Jo Brand because she wouldn't stand any bullshit!
Joe Lycett because he's got your back and he'd be so creative with solutions to problems.
Susan Calman because she's funny and Scots so she might just maintain the Union!

missdeke Wed 24-Apr-19 11:18:29

Eddie Izzard, Richard Ayoade, Josh Widdecombe or Romesh Ranganathan.

olliebeak Wed 24-Apr-19 11:08:51

Susan Calman - she always has me in stitches!

JanaNana Wed 24-Apr-19 11:07:08

Peter Kay every time or Bradley Walsh.

baw53 Wed 24-Apr-19 10:41:52

And where are the clowns?
Quick send in the clowns,
Don't bother, they're here .

icanhandthemback Wed 24-Apr-19 10:39:13

Frankie Boyle, he could carry on the job of offending everybody like TM or Boris!
Sarah Millican, she makes me laugh and would say it how it is.
Sarah Pascoe is intelligent and can be very funny too.

maxdecatt Wed 24-Apr-19 10:38:22

We already have a bunch of comedians, 650 of them called MP's., runing this country.

Craftycat Wed 24-Apr-19 10:37:38

Peter Kay every time. Question time would be hilarious!
