The wrist/hand swelling continues, together with pain. I have swapped chairs so that I can get myself upright without doing MacSporran a mischief. He tries to lift me but I am aware that he has suffered hernias in the past. Cannot risk yet another. I shall be able to take seriously strong pain relief after lunch. Looking forward to a period of respite as a result.

corner Belated happy birthday greetings. Stunning images of magnificent blooms. What a joy they are to behold.
*N&G& LOVELY to have you call into the kitchen.
Cooper's birthday cake is a work of art. Why was the meeting the mini beasts not a success? I would have thought all the children would have loved the experience.
aggie
Synonymous I can well imagine your husband's joy (and yours) on having two legs on which to stand. After the downside of his surgery and infection, he is now well and truly on the mend.
Ann and Panache Us lot will continue to listen and comfort you by doing so.
dragonfly Your tree peony is stunning. I would so love one in our garden. My late Nana grew peonies. Hers were deep crimson and prolific. She also grew Sweet William and they had such a heavenly perfume.
I am sitting in my kitchen with the rain pouring down outside, through my skylight the sky is very dark grey!!!
Spring has not sprung in SE Essex.
On the good side the veggie patch will not need watering.
Soop rest, rest and more rest, in fact that is my prescription for all kitcheners and their other halves if at all possible.
I am putting off sorting out some paperwork so GN is very welcome.
Panache I hope you find a solution to your buggerations soon.
Synonymous good to hear Mr.S is getting on with his prosthetic.
Ann take time, you do not have to rush into anything, better days will come along
To all I have forgotten TOYA?
soop, it's more than a buggeration, isn't it. It's one damned thing after another and this latest development has just about put the tin lid on all the others. I can feel your distress. 'A wee sob' is more than ok. Sometimes it's an absolute necessity. soop, you've always unstintingly shared our buggerations and sadness. Now it's our turn to send you healing vibes. ((((hugs))))
What good news from you Synonymous
I hope your H goes from strengh to strength.
His health will surely improve now he has the infection removed.
Sorry you are not too good soop stop doing so much and relax more, it is for your own good.
Belated Happy Birthday corner.
Hoping for better news from the Panaches but that may be a vain hope, they have so much going on in their lives.
I am still feeling discombobulated, I can't get my head round things, but I am sure I will eventually.
Very early days.
TOYA whether with probs or not.
Good morning the kitchen! What a time we have been having this last few days. Himself has a grin from ear to ear and has his old sparkle back and it was lovely to watch him get his new leg fitted. I had almost forgotten how tall he is and it made my heart turn over seeing his joy in being able to stand on two legs.
It always takes at least a couple of days for me to recover from an expedition to 'the big smoke' and I am always so grateful to get home to our small corner of the world and happy to live in such peace!
We have so enjoyed the lovely photos of all the gorgeous little people belonging to kitcheners and the flowers have been stunning. We have a yellow tree peony which was pathetic when we moved in but although it is improving it is not a patch on that lovely white one! Ours will get better but has quite a bit of competition to contend with.
More appointments again today so must away! TOYA (((hugs))) and
Morning Kitcheners , I hope you are feeling better today Soop
I think I am losing it , I opened the microwave to cook my Porridge and found yesterdays still in situ ! I was in a rush yesterday and can remember being very peckish when it came to lunch time .........sigh
Morning all !
I am not caught up on the comings and goings in the kitchen, so apologies for that.
Belated birthday wishes Corner !!
I'm so sorry to hear you feel poorly Soop , please get better soon !
Its all relatively quiet here with Grampy's back much improved and we have recovered from the trip down for young Coopers momentous 5th birthday .His meeting the mini beasts birthday gift did not go to plan and I will post a couple of pictures...I am sure you will see why :-)
Wishing everyone a day with a little sunshine in it.
Dragonfly that’s a lovely peony - I love them!
Lovely photo Dragonfly - my ordinary peonies are almost open. Maybe I will have room for a tree peony when we move ?.
Evening All. Funny old day here, it seems I am a year older, not sure how that happened. Our plans were scupperd by the rain so it was retail therapy time and a nice lunch. Not so bad. There’s a surfeit of cake so gf chocolate cake and red velvet muffins in a tin on the side. They will be fine tomorrow so save me from myself and eat them, please.
You wouldn’t believe the performance I had convincing a radiographer this morning that no matter how much he wanted me to my hand simply could not adopt the position he said it should . Hmm, that was sort of why I was there.
. He also called me ‘my lovely’ every three words, I was pleased to escape and I imagine he was pleased when I left
. Other than that there’s a niggly family worry I seem to be carrying which will take its time and so I must get used to it, and I will,
Pleased you have been resting soop, here’s hoping you wake feeling so much better tomorrow. Been thinking particularly of ann, dragonfly and panache while hoping kitty isn’t overdoing it. Your sad news also made me think grannyq, I think I do far too much fretting about what might be and not enough enjoying what is. A lesson learned.
So many worries and buggerations in our kitchen. It’s good to see all the photos, certainly raises the spirits. I’ve attached a couple of recent ones as my contribution.
Take care everyone. TOYA.
I wonder, Panache, if you could employ someone to help you sort the things you would want or need to take with you, if you decided to move. You could sit in regal splendour and direct operations.
We are doing that gradually in preparation for our own move but we have the luxury of time. We have just had a second viewing but these people are only just going on the market.
TOYA

Anneliese even if my eyesight was 20/20 which it is not, I would have to book a course to thread a needle. Good luck.
soop please stay in bed for as long as you think you may need. The swelling is a total buggeration, not forgetting the pain. No point me bringing up Tara to see you, she is not sympathetic whereas my last cat would have stayed with you all the time you were in bed, awake or asleep.
Ooh Mamissimo! I bought an overlocker last Autumn but I haven’t even taken it out of the box yet! I’ve never used one so it’s an unknown quantity. Fortunately our local authority runs courses, so I need to book myself in!
A day of very minor buggeration for me today! I’m making a box cushion for my DH’s chair in the kitchen. It’s got to have a zip, piping....and those things to stop it slipping off the beautiful leather on the seat. In other words, it’s a right faff! ......and the fabric frays every time I breath so I’ve got to get the overlocker out as well.
It’s made me niggly and I’m normally a serene, gentle character ?
Hope your days have been niggle free and thinking of all dealing with real buggerstions.
granniequeenie Your final paragraph eloquently sums up our kitchen. Life is a rare mixture of experiences and emotions. In an instant our so-called certainties can be upended and we are left floundering. This is the beauty of our kitchen - the experiences of others may help in some small way to offer support and comfort.
Your photographs are a joy. Thank you for your valued contribution.
dragonfly I wish your daughter well. She will be closely monitored.
Lona and Charlieg The meds made me feel slightly light-headed. No bad thing. I returned to bed and, after reading a chapter of my book, drifted into a pleasant sleep. I believe that the swellings may have trapped a nerve or two. On a scale of 1-10 it was well on the high side.
Us lot are made of tough stuff. However, there are times when it's okay to have a wee sob.
I shall love and leave you until tomorrow. TOYA.

Panache I think that moving into sheltered accommodation will be the right thing for you. Like all the other kitcheners I agree that an experienced removal firm be hired though.
I'm sorry to hear of this "blip" Soop, your GP sounds on top of things though. Hope your poor wrists and hands are better soon.
There are so many with illness and worries aplenty, for all of you I send love and ?
Mim and Mila - both photos are lovely, they also look strong characters and good company.
Our DD has been in Shanghai, Xian and Beijing on holiday. She has arrived back in the UK this afternoon and is on her way to Paddington. She has left behind temperatures of 30 degrees, whereas it has rained all day here and is cold to boot. Looking forward to seeing her.
Have a restful evening all.
It’s very quiet in the kitchen these days, it feels like there’s a bit of a subdued atmosphere. There’s been lots going on, some folks with happy times to celebrate but so many others living through difficult times with much to weigh them down.
It’s a microcosm of “real” life I guess. We’re celebrating this week with some young friends who've just had their 1st baby and also looking forward to attending the wedding of some other young friends wedding in a week or two but then alongside that had a phone call today from my old boy’s walking buddy. His wife died in the hospice this morning, when I visited her last week she was still very much herself and we chatted and laughed together. Now a week later, after 50 years of marriage, her husband faces life without her. We haven’t known this couple very long but they’re similar in age and interests to us and we’d enjoyed meals together over the last few years. It’s certainly pulled us up with a jolt.
It can be hard to balance the contrast between the highs and lows of life. There’s room for both and everything in between as we pop in and out of this comfy kitchen. So on that note I’ll shove off and do something useful! toya whether today is full of joy for you or one with sadness, for whatever reason, threaded through it. I’ll leave some photos from a visit to a local garden to lift the spirits.
Oh dear soop sorry to hear about this setback and miracles of miracles you were taking rests. I only hope there is something else for you to take once you feel a bit better.
Hope you feel better soon soop.
TOYA
soop sorry you are feeling unwell. Please take care.
My daughter was doing really well but had a relapse today. She has a bad headache and nausea. We don’t think the wound is infected.
Dear Panache I feel that moving into sheltered accommodation is the right thing for you and your husband. Yes, it will take some upheavel at the onset - but, it will almost certainly be to your advantage for so many reasons that your Granspals have mentioned. It is essential that you select a removal firm of good repute. You cannot be expected to pack and unpack without expert assistance.
There has been a wee blip as a result of the Zoledronic acid infusion. My wrists and hands are swollen and extremely painful. I barely slept a wink last night. I phoned the help line just after 8 a.m. and was told to contact the GP. Within an hour and a half I was in the surgery. Lovely lady doctor thinks that it is an allergic reaction. I have some seriously strong meds and, I have every intention of returning to my bed very shortly for some much needed shut-eye.
Panache Feelingyourage has written a lot of sense- there is a lot to think about.
