A place of great warmth, caring, and understanding, where love flows daily.

Thinking of all of you with worries and sadnesses this Easter.
We have just had a few days away in North Wales and we climbed Cader Idris. Well who should we meet on the top but Theresa May with DH and two body guards! I even spoke to her and she replied! I didn't mention the B word!!Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Easter!

Another one rather late in joining you all, but as ever you are all very much in my thoughts especially you Ann.
So pleased hearing your family are supporting you right now.A time when they are very much needed.

Whilst once again our Hospital shows how sometimes the admin staff do not know what the right hand is doing Syn, although in a way their muddled thinking may have made your best laid plans to go array, but you have had the joy,the pleasure of actually havin g your dear man home over Easter.
Sadly of course, it does come with its problems and causes quite a headache, but it also highlights more of what you need to cope better and since this is but a short visit, perhaps you can start getting the ball rolling to get fitted up with this Hoist etc.You will probably be learning new needs as you go along.
I sincerely hope though, that most of all, you will both be able to enjoy this special Easter gift you have just been given.

Good news and information for your future treatment Soop and I hope that it will all be straight forward.
What lovely photos too,the only thing quite as nice as the models must be the lovely beach scenery!!
Wishing your MacS all the best for his Hospital visit next week.

I am well aware of so many of you with your own personal trials, and I feel for you, whilst I have to admit our own load is getting very much heavier, making our lives very difficult.
It is very much a stay put weekend but on top of that I have created such a mischief.
Unbeknown to me,having placed my specs on a cabinet top, they inadvertantly slipped onto the chair seat nearby...............and yes I DID sit on them.
With my man unable to drive during this hectic weekend I have been devastated.Thankfully the chappie at Boots have promised he can repair them.........if and when I can get them to him.I am due another eye test very soon so I only need them to bridge that gap.
I must learn to be far more careful obviously. But sometimes I am SO tired, I can hardly think straight.

Yet more viewers and just as well because the last would be purchasers have been seen out and about viewing other houses, therefore we can no longer rely on them to purchase here.................with this heat and a very busy area.......and road.....I rather think we shall be biting our nails again until the autumn!!!
However we know we must go ahead with this offer of a Retirement Apartment we have had, as quite frankly our need is growing greater daily.

May I wish you all a peaceful, meaningful and uplifting Eastertide.

Synonymous after all your worries and concerns, it’s wonderful that your DH is home for the weekend.

DGD is disabled, and they have a motability car with a ramp and hoist. I believe motability is linked to DLA or PIP in the case of adults. The motability website has more information and an eligibility checker.

Lovely pics Soop and good news about your future medication.

I hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine. What a surprise to have such lovely bank holiday weather!

thanks TOYA

Spent yesterday afternoon sorting all the pots in my front garden and now the sun has moved round to the back of my house I'm going out there to see what's growing and what needs chucking. Some fresh soil and fertiliser for those that need it, then hopefully there'll be lots of sunny days to enjoy the beauties of nature.

Happy Easter to everyone and TOYA sunshine cupcake

Swanny Sat 20-Apr-19 13:27:49

Synonymous such good news your DH was deemed able to come home for a little while. A large dollop of humour will help you both cope with any difficulties.

ann I'd just spent an hour reading the last few days of kitchen events, smiling over tales of youngsters' eating preferences, then got a Kick in the Stomach as I read your tragic news. As others have said, it must be a comfort you were there with him as he drew his last breaths but oh, how sad I feel for you. I hope the memories of happier times in all the years you spent together will help you in your grief x

soop Sat 20-Apr-19 13:20:20

I have lost a lengthy message and I am not a happy bunny.

I had included a message to Ann and Synonymous My love and best wishes being sent to you both. Family support in times of need, is priceless. sunshine flowers

The hospital appointment went well. I have the first dose of Zoledronic acid in a couple of weeks. Will be taking Letrozole daily for the next ten years. By which time I shall be just short of my 90th birthday.

MacSporran has his regular hospital appointment during the week. At least the weather is on the bright side. The Oban road seems so much more pleasant when driven in the sunshine.

1inamillion Sat 20-Apr-19 11:48:12

That is good news Syn wishing you both a lovely weekend and a Happy Easter.

Kitty you couldn't have ordered better weather for your photo shoot. Enjoy.

TOYA

Just popping in for a catch up. So pleased that you are better today ann and glad your family are around to help.

syn, how nice to have you dh home. We bought a wheelchair for when ds1 came home but it is stupidly heavy. He then got a lightweight one from a company that makes them for wheelchair athletes. It was expensive but he got a donation from a charity towards it and, thankfully, rarely needs to use it at all nowadays

We have the family photoshoot today. It was bought for my 70th birthday. The weather is beautiful which is great as we are congregating at a local beauty spot but I feel like a piece of chewed string having coughed all night!

Off to fill cakes for afterwards now but TOYA!

Charleygirl5 Sat 20-Apr-19 11:11:28

Great news but also a bit scary managing but the pair of you will cope no doubt. Perhaps contact N&G because I think she has a hoist to lift something into her car. I know zilch about that but with luck, others may have ideas.

dragonfly46 Sat 20-Apr-19 10:56:17

Great news Synonymous I do hope you manage alone. We have a lightweight folding wheelchair for my mum which I can lift into the car easily.

MawBroonsback Sat 20-Apr-19 10:19:09

Great news Synonymous - see my PM when you have a moment!

aggie Sat 20-Apr-19 10:16:51

Great news Synonymous , those Chairs are a ton ! I hope you get help when needed , when you get in the house you might not need to lift it again till OH needs to get in the car ?

Bellanonna Sat 20-Apr-19 10:11:06

That’s great news synonymous. I hope all the practical things work out well for you and that you both have a lovely day tomorrow.

Synonymous Sat 20-Apr-19 09:54:32

I waved DS off yesterday as we were told Himself was not coming out until 30th and so we decided it seemed best DS went to be with his family for Easter particularly as staying for over a month seemed a bit much for them to be without him.
I then went to the hospital and there were great discussions going on and suddenly Himself can come out for the day on Sunday and then another decision was made that he can come home for the weekend. smile confused If only I had known before I put DS on the train!
Himself is really happy to come home and so am I but the logistics are another thing. I have tried lifting the wheelchair and I can't do it so it is going to be an interesting exercise, hopefully I will be able to get help as and when I need it.
I have a company coming next week to give a quote to put a wheelchair hoist into the car. Apparently they start at £800 but if you need it then you need it and there is no choice really.
I am determined that we will have a nice weekend whatever happens and I feel so blessed not to be on my own for the very first time over Easter! Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter and TOYA. Especially dear Ann flowers
