Nannytopsy Tue 14-May-19 09:23:56

Hello everyone! What a lovely morning! I am still struggling with my eye and wondering whether to go back to eye casualty today. It is three days with no improvement.

aggie Tue 14-May-19 07:52:12

Many Happy Returns of the day Marydoll flowers

annsixty Tue 14-May-19 07:49:03

I have sent my birthday greetings to marydoll on the Good morning thread but it doesn't hurt to say them again.

annsixty Tue 14-May-19 07:46:33

Sending very best wishes to the Panaches today.
May things go well for them.

Bellanonna Tue 14-May-19 07:42:07

Good morning. Just popping in to wish Marydoll many happy returns of the day. I hope she can enjoy her day and celebrate a little. Happy birthday MD! ???

NanaandGrampy what a cheeky visitor to your bird table, I loved seeing the rabbit.

The weather has been so beautiful and those flowers are just beautiful too, Soop and Grey. I love this time of year and have missed going out in the fresh air. Enjoy the rhododendrons Corner or as DH's gran called them ' rosydandrums'

Kitty what a happy couple you make. One for the album.

Good news about your son Callgirl hope all goes well for him.
I'm glad your dear DH is home with you ann your posts are very moving.

Hope everything goes well for the Panache's viewing tomorrow.

Here DH has been busy mowing the lawn and putting kidney bean plants in a large container, they grow( hopefully) up a wigwam of bamboo canes. It was really warm this afternoon and he wouldn't wear a hat, so now he is rather pink. Why won't men just do as they're told.

Hope everyone has a restful night.

cornergran Mon 13-May-19 23:05:09

Evening All. The photos are beautiful. You both look so happy kitty, the rabbit definitely needs a step n&g, you’ve both caught the essence of nature soop and greyd.

Hope there’s a ladder in sight for that family hole greyd, be kind to yourself..

We’re off to see some rhododendrons on Wednesday, the weather deterred us last week. I’ll try for a photo but can’t promise the quality hmm.

Sounds as if your treatment could continue to add to your pain soop, some grumpiness is allowed. Please rest when you can.

Good to hear your husband is safe with you ann. Mr C and I have the same agreement, we will then leave home together. Wishing you well with the solicitor, travel safely whichever way you choose.

Sounds better for your son callgirl, don’t we worry about these children, young or old?

Hectic day here tomorrow beginning with the dentist, can’t wait grin. In case I don’t get to the kitchen here’s wishing marydoll a very happy birthday and a positive apartment view for Mr and Mrs panache.

There will of course be folk I’ve missed out. Apologies as ever and TOYA. Sleep well everyone.

callgirl1 Mon 13-May-19 22:22:34

What beautiful photos again today. I LOVE the bunny! And yes,I can just about hear the water rushing over the weir. Soop and GreyD, really pretty blossom and flower pics, although due to my terror of wasps and their like, I tend to avoid flowers in summer and autumn, sadly. Soop, sorry that you`re still not well, please take very good care of yourself.
Kitty, that`s a lovely photo, your fella`s a bit of alright, isn`t he?
My son rang early this afternoon, he`d been discharged from hospital, still not knowing what had been wrong, and he was on his way to Lincoln to start his last week of radiotherapy, they`d told him as long as he could get there by 4.30 pm it could still go ahead.
Ann, so glad your hubby is back home with you. I hope your solicitor visit goes well, and that you get there and back alright.

grannyqueenie Mon 13-May-19 22:03:18

Fabulous photos, kitchen friends!
You two look very happy together, kitty, lovely photo. We’re to do some prayers for the young couple on Saturday, I’m hoping they will still be smiling like you two lovebirds in the years to come! I’ve spent some time thinking about it tonight so have an idea of what I’m doing. Let’s hope the old boy agrees with my thoughts on the matter, hmm why do I think that could go either way?

Looks like your camera is serving you well greyduster, hang on in there with the family fretting and keep thinking “this too shall pass” but hopefully easier than a kidney stone, as I’ve heard it said

I’m a sucker for a good sunset, soop, and you do have some stunning ones in your part of the country. allassinsane we are having a few days on Skye later in September, we last went there almost 50 years ago! I’m hoping it’s still as lovely as I remember it to be.

I must away, I need an early night after my dawn awakening this morning. Toya, those I’ve mentioned and those I’ve forgotten! Sleep well all x

allassinsane Mon 13-May-19 20:39:27

Love all the photos that everyone sends in. Really enjoy looking at them. The love shines through kitty.

Ann I've been following your posts over the last couple of months, before I joined gsnet and just want to say how deeply moving your posts have been. We've had a close relative who has been through almost the exact same thing as yourself and I know words cannot change anything but hope that you can find strength knowing that there are people who understand.

The rabbit photo, I thought they were cute until they ate all my flowers, roses and new plants we put in the garden when we first moved here nearly ten years ago.....also finding holes where they're trying to set up home....

soop I love your photos of sunsets. We've never been on the Kintyre peninsula though a couple of years ago we had a holiday in Argyll and Bute and visited Inverrary and all the beautiful places around there before we went on to Barra. We've also holidayed on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, Skye, Mull and Arran. We love Scotland. Do you still paint?

Well I gather you're all very refained here, much better than that other rough lot in that other place...winkbye for now.

Doodle Mon 13-May-19 19:24:41

Well what lovely photos everyone. Thank you all for sharing. kitty that’s a really nice photo of you and DH
callgirl glad your son was feeling better. Let’s hope his treatment isn’t delayed.
N&G your bunny photo is FANTASTIC. Yes I am shouting too. I love it. A big aaah moment.
P.S please will you ask grampy to build a little step for the tiny rabbit - he almost can’t reach ?
In case you are reading panache hope things are ok for you both.
TOYA ?

Bellanonna Mon 13-May-19 17:43:15

Ann that’s a. lovely idea.

Bellanonna Mon 13-May-19 17:42:15

Kitty what a lovely, happy picture of you. I remember one you posted eons ago of you as a young bride. You still look just as happy.
grey, lovely pictures. I find all the photos posted wonderful to look at.
On another matter our marydoll has a birthday tomorrow. Let’s hope she is able to get up and enjoy it. I’ll wish her all the best tomorrow.

annsixty Mon 13-May-19 17:04:59

It is a lovely photo kitty as are all the others.
I would never dare put my humble offerings on, they are not good!
Yes my H is back where he belongs, at home with me.
He is not in an urn, just a quite sizeable royal blue box.
He will not be on display but in his wardrobe until mine join him and then we will be scattered together.
Best wishes to all with problems, I hope the Panaches like tomorrow's apartment and that things move on quickly for them.

soop Mon 13-May-19 17:01:42

Oh, kitty Your special photograph is just that. The love and laughter is there for all to see. Wow!

Greyduster It is so good to have you back with us lot. Family "black holes" are about the blackest one has to deal with. I'm wishing you happier times in store. Gardens and nature are an uplifting tonic for the jaded soul. Your photos are lovely.

I'm still hurting...joint pain throughout has flared and even a short stroll takes an awful long time. Arthritis in my knee is troublesome. I was asked to stop one of my meds for fybromyalga after coming home from surgery. I've since had the infusion that can increase bone pain. I have to take anti estrogen meds for the rest of my life. Before all this faffin', I felt really very well and ready to recouperate. At the mo', I'm a mildly grumpy (with myself) old mare.

Logging off for today. All good wishes to our lovely Granspals. TOYA. smile moon

MawBroonsback Mon 13-May-19 16:53:33

Lovely pic kittylester! ???

kittylester Mon 13-May-19 16:30:18

I'm so chuffed. Some of you might remember that our children bought me a family photo shoot for my birthday. We got the proofs today. They are fabulous!

gq, your skill with a camera is superb. And, I'm so glad you are going to wear something you already own. You will feel much more comfortable. What does your role at the wedding entail?

ann, I hope your visit to the solicitor proved helpful and that your dh has made it home. flowers

n&g, what a wonderful photograph. Arent you lucky to have such fabulous visitors.

How are you doing soop, I hope you are resting enough - you know we'll nag otherwise.

callgirl, glad things seem ok with your son. Phew. Are you sure that was your first drink?

marydoll, I hope things are on a more even keel for you now.

I'm off to do my stint on a Carer's course. I hate the evening one but luckily we only do I a year.

TOYA.

Greyduster Mon 13-May-19 16:17:50

I thought it was about time I sneaked in the door again, having been missing for about twenty two pages, staring into a big black hole labelled family issues, so please forgive me if I don’t attempt to catch up, but I do sent my heartfelt good wishes to all who are ill or weighed down with stuff. I have, however, looked at all the photos of gorgeous grandchildren, flora and fauna - always cheering. We also had a much needed holiday that was so hectic I now ‘much need’ another holiday! I have now resolved to deal with things a day at a time.
Yesterday DH and I went to our Botanical Gardens to see the rhododendrons and just enjoy what is a beautiful and calming space. Difficult to believe it is just a mile from the centre of a large city. I will leave you with a few photos out of the hundred and five I took! Next time I look in, there will be cake. hmm DH is making one.

soop Mon 13-May-19 12:48:16

A photo of the weeniest blossom that caught my eye this morning...

soop Mon 13-May-19 12:44:32

Galen...guzzle away...enjoy those bubbles and savour the treat.

I forewent a G&T last evening. Instead I enjoyed one glass of Becks alcohol free lager. It was refreshing.

callgirl1 I'm pleased to hear more positive news regarding your son's recent setback.
As for spilling your cider...that was a buggeration. Note to self - keep a few bottles in reserve for such times.
Said hello to David over the weekend. The campsite is busy. The weather is perfect.

granniequeenie Your message to Ann was uplifting. flowers.
Your photograph was, as usual, fabulous and atmospheric.
You were wise to settle for a garment that you already own. I believe that well chosen/interesting accessories are the key to a successful outfit.

It is lovely to have you join the madhouse kitchen, allassinsane. You will always be welcome and sometimes, not always, may be fortunate enough to be offered cupcake. Whatever...come on in and join in the merry banter. smile

NG* THAT photo of the wee, plump rabbit is nigh on PERFECT. Yes, I am shouting. It has made our day. grin

soop Mon 13-May-19 12:27:41

I am about to catch up from back to front...if that makes any sense. wink

Ann It's also a marvellous day here in Kintyre. A very special day for receiving your husband's ashes back with you at home.

Retracing my steps to read previous postings...

annsixty Mon 13-May-19 12:14:10

Well I now need to go out.
I have been in touch with a solicitor and I have an appointment on Wed at 10am.
I will have to get a taxi but may be able to use the community bus to get back home.
A beautiful day here, the Funeral Director, lovely man, is bringing my H's ashes this afternoon .
He will of course, get paid at the same time!!!
TOYA

grannyqueenie Mon 13-May-19 11:58:50

Fab photos grampy, the early bird and all that!

aggie Mon 13-May-19 09:45:32

Some very talented Photographers , I love the rabbit xxx

Bellanonna Mon 13-May-19 09:27:58

Oh goodness, I’m bowled over by those gorgeous photos.
Yes I can indeed hear the rush of water from the weir gq, and what a lovely position for a church!
N&G both those pictures are captivating in different ways. Now if that were a squirrel, he would be sitting in there munching away. It’s really cute. And the sunrise. Well! Like you I rarely see those, but what a stunning picture. It really lifts the spirits to see such lovely photos and I always enjoy them. So thank you!
