Thinking Of You All
TOYAflowers

Izabella Thu 25-Apr-19 09:52:42

Good morning everyone. There is so much sadness, stress and despair here at the moment. I do not know what to say and to be honest am not sure what is what at the moment. For myself, in a peculiar way it is comforting to know I am not the only one struggling with life at the moment. However, that does not make things any easier for any of us. It is shattering to be given any medical news that will affect all aspects of life for futures that were planned in other ways.
it is a living bereavement and hard to bear. We all need strength and fortitude to carry on, but some days they seem in short supply or desert us altogether for a while.

I am acutely aware that my personal diagnosis is causing despair to my loved ones and friends and it comes with feelings of guilt on my part, even though I am not to 'blame' as it were.

I may not post as often as it takes so much more effort but like others I do find solace here in soops kitchen. Thank you all.

Finally can someone enlighten me as to who Toyah is?

harrigran Thu 25-Apr-19 09:45:47

My thoughts are with you Anneliese, you must be in shock. Life can deal some nasty blows.
Love to all ?

tanith Thu 25-Apr-19 09:38:28

It’s just so very sad here at the moment I almost can’t bear to read some of the posts ? a flower for all those who need it today.

cornergran Thu 25-Apr-19 09:25:29

I was blamed yesterday for the dip in temperature because I had done just that with my clothes n&g. I sort of like the opportunity for a sort out, sadly not because of needed weight loss hmm.

Funny old day here, clouds one minute, sun the next. We have a monsoon forecast for later. I’m going to try to sort a short UK holiday for later in the year. Notice I said try. No guarantees.

Just need to say to mawb that no one would think she didn’t care. We all need to be as we are.

Take care everyone. TOYA.

NanaandGrampy Thu 25-Apr-19 09:16:36

Morning all !

The weather is like the kitchen today , drab, grey and overcast. Such a lot of sadness . But hopefully there will be a little sunshine too . I agree with Doodle we need some good news as well as all the sad.

Loved the photo of little Max Callgirl , he's a cracker !!

Even if you don't feel like sharing Dragonfly , pull up a share and just enjoy some company ?

Good idea from Corner , Syn about the taxi if you can .Hope all goes well today .

Yes, the new path leads to the West Wing Corner, with a fetching detour past Grampy's new Oval Office where the tender plants are now happily ensconced ! I like to think of it as consolidating them all in one place to make it easier for the bugs to eat them lol

Grampy's back remains 'tricky' so combined with the rain we shall stay put today . The job for today is swapping the winter for summer clothes. Our new little house is too small to have everything out at once so we do a seasonal swap - but after his recent weight loss I suspect the charity shop will be getting a donation once the swap is done !!

I'll leave you with a picture of an unexpected visitor to the bird table yesterday !!

Happy days x

Thinking of you all flowers
I find it hard to express how sorry I am for all in distress or suffering as my own emotions are still fragile, but I would not want you to think I am not caring.

kittylester Thu 25-Apr-19 07:35:35

synonymous, another option might be volunteer transport. Round here, the Royal Voluntary Serice offers that service. My DH is a volunteer driver for them and manages user's wheelchairs.

corner, that is good news. We had good news yesterday. DH's latest scan (on his kidney and ureter) showed no abnormalities.

Lovely photos callgirl.

dragonfly we are happy to listen if you are struggling. flowers

TOYA

morethan2 Thu 25-Apr-19 07:15:01

Anneliese just to say I’m thinking of you and your family today

Willow500 Thu 25-Apr-19 07:03:36

Although I no longer post I do read every day and wanted to say I'm thinking of all of you who are having such dreadfully hard times at the moment flowers

cornergran Thu 25-Apr-19 00:26:48

synonymous, please do keep sharing good news. I’m so pleased to hear your husband can be at home. I truly believe we all mend better in our own homes if it’s possible to be there. The wheelchair accessible taxi is a good thought for tomorrow. Another thought is could you use a hospital wheelchair when you get there? Usually some are available to borrow. Another thought is why not ask for hospital transport? Be clear you can’t manage the wheelchair and your husband can’t travel without one, but of course the down side of that is you may not be able to go with him so perhaps not such a good thought. Sorry, I’m rambling,

Max looks so happy callgirl, was it a good party?

I seem to have lost the art of sleeping but must try now. Sleep well everyone.

callgirl1 Thu 25-Apr-19 00:13:27

Synonymous, why not "hang the expense" and go by wheelchair accessible taxi, presuming of course tnhat there is one in your area? I`ve had to do that acouple of times recently in order to get my daughter to hospital appointments.
Panache and Anneliese, I`m so very shocked and sorry to read the news about your husbands, I feel so helpless.
Ann, when my husband died it took a week to get everything signed so that I could get the death certificate. I did as MawB suggests, I got a few copies, a copy was requested several times, so good job I did. I couldn`t face going to see my husband at the Chapel of Rest, I was with him when he died, my youngest son went and said he wished he hadn`t, he said "that wasn`t my dad there."
Morethan, what a beautiful photo, your DIL looks so relaxed and happy.
Soop, I hope all went well at the hospital.
Corner, so pleased that your husband`s news was good.
N&G, congrats to Grampy, that`s one hell of a path!
My I share 2 more 1st birthday photos of Max, they`re better than the ones I took.

Doodle Thu 25-Apr-19 00:09:20

Never feel reticent about sharing good news synonymous. Good times and bad come our way and we need to hear good news too.
anneliese I can only imagine the strain you are under tonight. So much going on in your head and so much worry. I hope you will forgive me for saying a special prayer for strength and comfort you tonight and panache and morthan and all those who have such troubles at the moment. I’m thinking and praying for you all x

Synonymous Wed 24-Apr-19 23:15:07

Such awful news to receive and I am so very sorry Panache and Anneliese flowers Lifting you all up in prayer. xx
You too soop, Dragonfly and Ann and so many others just now.
-
I feel very reticent in sharing that we have indeed had a joy day in that Himself was brought home by ambulance today and doesn't have to go back. It is quite a challenge as there is very little in place and we are both feeling pretty overwhelmed but know that we just need to go with how we feel.
I was a bit surprised since he has a hospital appointment at noon tomorrow and that is going to be an interesting excercise actually getting him there since I can't lift his wheelchair into the car. I am just praying that the Lord will send someone at just the right moment tomorrow morning when I need the help. My poor man fell asleep just as soon as I got him into bed and is gently snoring so I think I must try and follow suit.

TOYA and sending (((((hugs))))). What a blessing the kitchen is to so many of us. sunshine

Nannytopsy Wed 24-Apr-19 22:25:56

Panache & Annaliese what sad news for you both. thanks

grannyqueenie Wed 24-Apr-19 22:11:23

Just a quick pop in and having read a few posts I can see that these are stressful and demanding times indeed for so many kitchen folk, I’m sad to read of the various very hard situations you are all facing.
I won’t mention anyone in particular because I’ll just accidentally omit someone or another! But be assured I’m sending good wishes and toya tonight. x

Anneliese63 Wed 24-Apr-19 21:58:30

dragonfly I too am struggling but I know that so many of you have gone through similar things. Share if it will help but know how much we care. ?

cornergran Wed 24-Apr-19 21:45:00

You’ve been in my thoughts dragonfly, I’m sorry you’re struggling but then I think why wouldn’t you be? Come and talk to us or just sit and rest here, whatever helps. flowers.

dragonfly46 Wed 24-Apr-19 21:35:18

I was keeping a low profile as I am struggling at the moment but I have to add to the other posts and say how shocked and sad I am to hear the news from both Panache and Anneliese. You and your DHs are in my thoughts and prayers.

Anneliese63 Wed 24-Apr-19 20:49:51

ann don’t apologise. You have had the most demanding time and the delay because of the bank holiday is just making things so much worse. Unfortunately with other kitcheners it truly is an age thing. We are all going in the same direction and have to deal with horrid health issues.

At the moment although I am very upset, especially as the MND diagnosis was a total shock, I am being totally irreverent about his beloved Man Utd, which we are watching at the moment! I’m sure he has no idea of the implications so I am trying hard to stay upbeat! This is just the first step on a very difficult journey.

My dear Panache I cannot say how sorry I am for this latest setback. And thank you for your support. I know there will be lots of difficult things to us to deal with.

I have a dental appointment first thing, so any tips for dealing with puffy eyes will be most welcome! I probably sound so frivolous, but at the moment I’m trying to hold things together. Which will all fall apart when DD rings later tonight.

TOYAthanks

cornergran Wed 24-Apr-19 20:36:59

I’ve tears in my eyes reading today’s posts. As charlie says almost too much to take in.

Panache and Anneliese you must both be in shock as must your husbands. I’m hoping the NHS is at its best for you. I do agree with others, Panache if the sheltered accommodation is made available to you please accept it. Others can pack (removers did most of it for us), auction for your home is certainly worth a try, please believe it can all happen.

I’m sorry for your loss Grannyg, people we care about leave such a space.

Oh morethan of course your energy needs to be elsewhere. The image of your daughter with her grandson is beautiful and very precious indeed.

Little Max has determination callgirl, he’s delightful, hope the party went well. The first one is special.

kitty what are you doing getting more germs? Hope mrlester is looking after you. Get better soon. Persie is a gem.

You’ve had a rough weekend ann, it must have been oh so hard seeing your husband but you went with your heart, you could do nothing else. Hope the formalities can be accomplished without hitch.

Excellent path n&g. I had the same thought as 1inamillion, is the West Wing at the end? (Not nosey, definitely interested smile).

Can I introduce a little positive? Mr C saw a consultant today about his skin ‘thing’, she advised removing and testing it but is as sure as it’s possible to be that there is nothing sinister. Phew.

Hope today went well soop and harrigran, there are a lot of medical appointments about that’s for sure.

I know I haven’t mentioned everyone and I also know there’s no need to apologise but I will in any case. Everyone is important.

Take care everyone, TOYA.

Doodle Wed 24-Apr-19 20:26:31

Sorry panache I urge you not uneven you

Doodle Wed 24-Apr-19 20:25:02

There is a great deal of sadness and worry in the kitchen at the moment but that is what we are here for to share these times and offer as much comfort and support as we can. Those with some lightness and joy in their lives should not feel afraid to post either because we all the laughter and lifting of spirits too.
panache I cannot believe you have been dealt this additional blow. Your poor DH, no wonder he has been in such pain. I do hope a treatment course and plan is forthcoming soon. Like others I too uneven you take this chance to get into sheltered housing. I really hope you are able to make that move soon, I am sure in your circumstances it is the best thing for you both.
anneliese I am so sorry to hear you have received such shocking news. You must be so worried. I hope you have been given some information or helpful websites so you can discover more about your husband’s illness and what options are available.
morethan thank you so much for sharing the picture of your DIL and her new grandson. I am sure that will lift her spirits. I think of you a lot and hope that your DIL Grows stronger.
kitty your Persie sounds as though she’s going to be a very practical young woman.?
TOYA ?

annsixty Wed 24-Apr-19 20:24:10

anno you were the first person I thought about when I read annaliese's post.
It must have raised so many things you may not want raising.
I am so depressed this evening.
I want to go to bed, pull the duvet over my head and stay there

annodomini Wed 24-Apr-19 20:00:54

Anneliese, so, so sorry to hear about your husband's MNR. I had the same experience when I heard the same news about my dear sister in New Zealand. It is a horrid thing to be confronted with. Please do feel free to PM me. I will be thinking of you both. sad
