I have a feeling if I had opened the door in your state he may have needed Jesus to save himself!

I find nothing so irritating, especially as I have a problem getting to the door in the first place.

I fell asleep on the sofa - first time I had not been in bed all day while I have been ill- and was woken by the doorbell. Staggered to the door to be greeted by a nicely dressed young man telling me that he really like our house and would I like Jesus to save me!

Oh dear! You need your rest, soop. You should put a notice on the door - DO NOT DISTURB!

Took to my bed. Within half an hour, the doorbell rang. A friend visiting. Joined in a long blethering session. Finally returned to bed. Slept a little. Awoke to deal with a few jobs aboot the hoos. Now I am chasing my own shadow. Hey ho.
Time to log off and resolve to do much better tomorrow.

No Izabella you and me. I went to Waitrose dressed for mid January and I was fine but there were men there dressed for a day on the beach. Delighted you had lunch out with friends and a good natter.

Just returned home with lifted spirits following lunch out with friends. What would we do without them?

It seems very cold to me outdoors today, unless it is just me. I shall leave hot chicken soup (home made naturally) in the kitchen later for those that need a warm up

Good afternoon dear friends. We've been care home visiting and shopping. To be honest, I'm knackered, so much so, I'm away to my bed for a nap. I haven't forgotten you. Far from it. I shall return. That's a promise.

callgirl, when DS1, Max's uncle, was about 16, he had shoulder-length hair with burgundy low-lights. The school staff must have raised their eyebrows, but he got away with it. He did have lovely hair and now, thirty-odd years on, he chooses to be hairless, looks like a middle-aged skinhead but is a very gentle character.
Oh what we had to go through when they were kids - swimming goggles when one of them had his hair washed! Mayhem when he had his nails cut. However, gransal, I think all my GC have behaved in front of the camera - unless I'm behind it!
For all of you, in sadness or in pain, may you find peace and relief in the days to come. TOYA.

TOYA with worries. Ifeel mum ,87, is starting to be a wee bit vague, will have to be vigilant. GS4 tomorrow, we have to take him for photo at his nursery. He point blank refused to go so a little bit of "coaxing" in the form of macdonalds was employed . Will hope it works when the time comes !! Hope all have a peaceful night.

Aw Anno, as long as it`s clean and healthy looking and not TOO long, i.e. down to his shoulders, let the lad be. The school probably will insist on it being shorn, but let him be happy until then.

Aw, callgirl, poor Max. He should be allowed to be a baby for a bit longer. Our Max, now 11, has refused to have his hair cut and at the moment it's well down below his ears, really scruffy. Luckily he shampoos it frequently. I think that when he goes to senior school in September, they may have something to say about it.

Sorry callgirl, totally confused about the day. Oh dear, the dreaded first hair cut. We had a snip by snip video, it didn’t help much, but hen the hair grew a bit and all was well. Don’t despair.

Totally agree panache, an ambulance is needed for your husband for that distance. If all else fails ask that the driver comes early to build in time for essential breaks .

soop He made plenty of crumble. I always think cream makes hot puddings too cold, so I’ll leave a jug of custard as well. I also have a delicious recipe for rhubarb and orange crumble tart. Next time perhaps! Still lots and lots of rhubarb. Happy memories of my mum as it came from a plant in her garden.

Just want to say I am thinking of you all.There are so many suffering at the moment.I have been trying to sort things out for my mum the last couple of days and am feeling drained but our problems are nothing compared to what a lot of you are going through.I have just caught up on the last couple of days posts and just want to say I really am thinking of you all.

Corner, the party isn`t until Sunday afternoon.
Doodle, I haven't a clue what the creature is, but it`s cute and colourful.
Max`s mum and dad have upset me today. They`ve texted a pic of Max after they took him to the barber`s. He now has short hair, apparently, now he`s 1, he`s no longer a baby, he`s a boy, so must look like a boy. PAH!! He`s a flipping baby!

soop the cat biscuits do not need to be replaced so frequently provided you bring them indoors and do not leave them out to attract foxes.

Tara's biscuits stay indoors for as long as it takes her to demolish them which could be tomorrow or in three days time, depending upon the mood and more importantly has she had a snack when outdoors? Something I never have and probably will never discover.

Alygran Fond memories are priceless.

Panache Charleyg's suggestion re the ambulance is sound. Can that be organised for your husband's hospital appointment? He certainly won't be comfortable on such a long journey if he has to remain seated.

Care home visit tomorrow. I shall make every effort to be with you again in the afternoon.

Anneliesse Have I ever mentioned that I have a great fondness for rhubarb crumble? If not...I do, I do ,I do. Please may I have real custard with my helping.

CharleyG We put a dish of food out every evening. From time to time, the plate is licked clean by the morning. We always make sure that any uneaten cat biscuits are replaced after two nights.

Mamissimo I have never had a scan. My three sons range from 45 to 57 years of age. I also would not have wanted to know the sex of my babes. A lovely time for your family is in store.

Had last week's filling attended to. A wee sliver of tooth had parted company. No charge.

So sorry to see the heartbreak in the kitchen. TOYA.
The diagnosis and loss path is one I have walked and I wish those on it strength and courage.
Just finished day 3 with DGS. Ten pin bowling and MacDonalds. Being faraway Grandma means rare but hopefully memorable treats.
Just come back to pictures from the last holiday with DH in Scotland 2 years ago. Glorious scenery and a happy time despite what we were facing. Though I am sad it’s good to have the memories.

Panache it sounds to me that Mr.P needs a two-man ambulance supplied by the hospital so that he can lie down the entire journey there and back. If ordering please mention you will be travelling with him.

Anneliese good he is not brooding and getting on with life doing things he normally would but it must be very difficult for both of you.

TOYA in abundance

So lovely hearing all your words of comfort and great humour,whatever we face in life we need that balance.

My head is all over the place as after such a seriously lack of attention from the Hospital medics, our GP has moved mountains since Tuesday.... resulting in my dear man having his long awaited abdominal scan tomorrow, whilst Wednesday he visits the Cancer Consultant in a Hospital 50 miles away..........the trouble being we have to have a Hospital car and he fears he may not manage that distance with the pain he suffers, as his only control is getting up for a short stroll when the pain gets to an unbearable point.
Since the weekend both legs have swollen like tree trunks.
But he is keeping positive despite looking so extremely ill.

However with so much to try think and sort out in the many varying aspects of our life, there is no time to sit around thinking!
Indeed Anneliese there is such a lot to sort out.........and quite frankly, it is this " keeping going" that aids us in keeping sane.
