Ah! Thank you.
Waste of prescription meds on news 🧐
The land is dry, and the people are ...stupid?
Soops kitchen, a place of reflection, refuge and at times revelry.
A place of great warmth, caring, and understanding, where love flows daily.
Ah! Thank you.
izabella, personally I would welcome updates from you without anything else.
TOYA was invented for times when the thread is overwhelming in anyway - lack of time, lack of energy, illness etc. But please do let us know when you are around!
Just grabbing a coffee and a sit down before gearing up to get to the hospital. This is something I have to do a minimum of three times a week so I should be fit for nothing or hopefully something after all this!
It is not a permanent need so that is good.
Izabella it is so good to hear from you and even if you just let us kow you are sitting in the kitchen (munching cake) and can't post much then just do that. You clearly need your own acronym for that so put your thinking cap on and I am sure you will decide on something to give us all a giggle!
Do ask your CH to come on to GN himself so that we can support him too even if in just a small way. It does help to verbalise your feelings even if in VR and he may come to value the kitchen in the same way as so many of us do.
No time for more but will pop back later on this evening when we get back . TOYA
My Wisteria which as you can see is growing in a pot has shocked me this year as I was told it would never flower in a pot. It's only ever had 5 flower brachts before and I had no idea they smelt so lovely .
Your wisteria is giving me serious envy ! I have tried several times to grow it , it never does , just fades away !
Thanks aggi I’m sorry for the double post I didn’t mean to do that.
So sad to read of all the problems and sad news in the kitchen.
TOYA ??
It is really beautiful. Be careful the promised storm does not kill it by breaking it.
Panache and Anneliese I am most dreadfully sorry to read the latest updates regarding both your husbands diagnosis. What more can any of us do? If I lived close by, I would offer help of a practical nature. It is so much worse to read of your distress and not be in a position to be of any real support.
PLEASE continue to call into our kitchen to share anything that moves you. Be it sad, happy, celebratory or humorous. Us lot are here for each other.
tanith I would so love wisteria growing in our garden. I fear that the air is too salty as we live beside the sea.
Synonymous Huge (((hugs))) for you and your husband.
So much love and care in the kitchen today ?.
Love the bird table pheasant and wisteria photos.
Hope everyone manages to dodge the showers today! ?
dragonfly Please visit as often as you wish. You matter.
callgirl1 Your photograph put a huge
on my face.
N&G Your photograph is excellent. We have a pair of pheasants hoovering up spare seed under the bird feeders.
MacSporran's bloods show no significent changes. Good news! He will have the aneurysm scanned sometime soonish.
I start ten year hormone therapy today. The infusion and prosthetic breast appointment have bee organised for the same day, in the same Glasgow hospital next week. We therefore hope to have fish and chips on the journey home.
The bluebells of Scotland stain the verges with the most glorious colour. The pregnant deer visits the garden fence. She will introduce her youngster to us in due course.
A tooth broke. Dental appointment this after.
Thank you all for your concern.
I do visit often but sit quietly in the corner listening to what goes on and eating cake!!
Aah, now I know who the culprit is! I thought the cake had been disappearing (before I had a chance to gobble it all up) ?. What’s your favourite dragonfly and I’ll make sure we have some in the cupboard just for you. Please do keep coming into the kitchen and give us a ? wave when you are able. There are a lot of kitcheners who read but don’t post much and that’s fine but please do pop in if you are feeling low. Sometimes it’s nice just to have someone to chat to that you don’t know in RL.
izabella it’s good to hear from you too whenever you feel like it ?
tanith I love your wisteria. Thank you for the photos. It’s beautiful.
callgirl excuse me but what type of creature is it that young Max is riding. He certainly seems happy on it ?
Good news about McSporran soop. Hope your treatment doesn’t cause you any upset. Lovely pics as usual.
maw I agree with corner. No one would ever think of you as uncaring.
Well I’m off to the hospital with my DH now. Astro clinic for a change today. Take care all.
Sorry, before anyone thinks I am having my husband turfed, it should be gastro clinic not Astro!
Thanks for that Doodle. I thought I knew hospitals inside out but an Astro clinic was beyond this birdbrain.
It must be my pregnancy but I am addicted to Asparagus soup- Waitrose cup a soup is cheap and tasty. It is also better for me than cake- my dentist would approve I think.
Thought he was being tested for launching doodle.
Doodle Thank you for the correction. I was wondering whether or not he was about to join the moles. Ours appear to have moved on. The garden is looking very smart again.
Away to the dentist shortly. Do hope that there won't be any need for a further filling. I'd sooner give birth. Joke!
Charleyg Jest ye not. You know what happened to Marydoll...she's not been the same since.
soop I do sympathise! I’ve been to the dentist this morning. My new dentist assured me that a crown would be successful - I do hope so! It feels so strange, indentations instead of the smooth filling that was there before. Should have had breakfast before I went, the dentist said don’t eat until the numbness wears off. I’m starving!
More heavy showers here, but it’s good for the garden and will top the water butts up.
Thank you all for your messages of support. I was dreadful yesterday as it came as such a shock. Now I must do what my beautiful DD does while coping with a very disabled child - take one day at a time!
DH hasn’t said very much at all but he’s just getting on with things. We’ve got lots of rhubarb so he’s decided to make crumble, and he’s just gone to take some runner bean plants to an elderly friend. I’m glad he’s doing things. Much better than moping around.
TOYA ?
Just back from a flying visit to my DD to take her to a scan. My word they have come on since the eighties when I last had one. We’ve counted toes and fingers, measured thighs and tummy circumference and even checked out its heart valves. No idea whether it’s a boy or girl but DD doesn’t want to know and I fully support her in that.
The bluebells were amazing this morning - there seem to be far more of them than when I was a girl but I guess that’s down to people not picking them anymore.
No cake for me today thank you! We stopped at an excellent diner on the A29 for an all day breakfast and are now virtually comatose in front of Escape to the Country.
I must away to walk it off with the beagle.....TOYA ?
callgirl I loved the photos of young Max- he was standing very well I thought and he loves his toy.
soop the bluebells are glorious and I love the deer- hopefully she will come to the fence for you to admire her new baby.
I take it that the visiting cat has decided that there is food elsewhere, probably the live variety as you have not mentioned feeding it recently.
