I loved Theme from a Summer Place.

One of my favourite groups was the original Seekers, the one with Judith Durham, such titles as Morningtown Ride and World of our own. I loved Ray Conniff and his Singers too.

Tamla Motown. Especially The Four Tops.

This thread has brought back memories to me, - when I was at high school, my mother used to play "Blue Train" by John D. Loudermilk over and over...

I heard 'Wonderful Land' by The Shadows on the radio today and it took me right back to happy times growing up in the family home. Every Sunday, Dad would get the Dancetta record player out and we'd have all the golden oldies playing through the house.
My mother's favourite was 'Theme from a Summer Place' by Percy Faith. Dad's was Jim Reeves singing 'Distant Drums' and my sister loved Roy Orbison singing 'In Dreams' and The Searchers' 'Needles and pins'. My brother loved anything by The Beatles and The Hollies.

I wonder what music from yester-year brings back such happy memories to other Grans and what were the circumstances?
