My husband's favourite TV programmes

From the above 'Chasing Classic Cars' is about it.
He's been doing the 'Wheeler Dealer' thing from about 18yrs old.
As we speak he is in his cave listening to blues while re- building the super charger for his own American HotRod (built in 1937) which he races.
He's also 'advising' our godson how to build a car.
So as you can imagine soaps etc don't come into his world.

Mine liked extreme fishing! I mean as if those words go together oh and gold rush! Yawn!

My friend says I'm the only woman she knows who is on charge of the remote control.

My DH cannot seem to enjoy anything made after the 1970’s - he will watch re-runs of vintage comedies like Bless This House, On the Busses, Some Mother’s do ‘ave ‘em! Etc Etc. I love good dramas like the ones that come on at 9 pm but he just won’t concentrate enough to follow any of them.

Mine watches news programmes, the antique shows, Would I Lie to You and Have I got News for You ... over, and over and over again!

Oh, and he never misses Corrie or Emmerdale!

Actually, he will watch just about anything rather than turn the tv off, and that included children's programmes back when they didn't have their own channels.

He only gives me the remote when there is genuinely nothing on that he wants to watch (which doesn't happen often), and even has the audacity to make out that he is being thoughtful when he does this! Grrrr

We watch the 6 o’ clock news and the local news programmes together, then I disappear into spare bedroom to watch “my “ programmes and he remains in lounge to watch “his” programmes.

My DH watched and played sport all his life as even when he was quite poorly he played boccia and wheelchair curling (thankfully not on the ice!!). When the kids were young I had plenty to keep me occupied and didn't mind (and he did encourage them to play and watch sport as well) but once Sky came on the scene we did a deal. He watched all his sport sound off (said the commentators annoyed him anyway!) and I listened to the radio or CD's. Occasionally I would go to the bedroom if it was something I wanted to watch at the time otherwise I would record stuff and we would watch it later. Of course this was before downloads, etc, and now I have all the time in the world to watch what I want.

He loathes soap operas and anything to do with giving birth.

My husband will watch Judge Judy incessantly, even after they have been repeated several times. Also most of the programmes listed by overthehill. YouTube on his tablet whilst I watch my soaps. We do both watch the late evening dramas on scheduled TV.

Willow500, you have reminded that I used to watch Dick (chateau) Strawbridge on Scrapheap Challenge. He is a clever chap!

My dear late husband enjoyed Call the Midwife and I'm grateful that he didn't watch cricket on the telly as it seemed to go on all day, same with golf.
Believe it or not he enjoyed Strictly Come Dancing, The Voice, and Britain's got Talent - I'd rather chew my own arm off than watch those. We both liked Bake Off and Sewing Bee, Rick Stein, that bloke in France, beardie Dick and his wife Angel in Chateau.
I enjoy 'house' programmes - Homes under the Hammer, Love It or List It, etc and loved Phil Spencer's History of Britain in 100 Homes.
I love quizzes too - Pointless, The Chase, etc.
I know I'm a bit weird - I like Abandoned Engineering.

The Masters from Augusta are due his week. Oh joy! If it's not golf it's snooker.

My husband likes:

I don't like any of those. I like real-life dramas, wildlife programmes and documentaries.

I sit and watch my things upstairs, whilst he watches his tv downstairs. Occasionally, we meet for a cup of tea!

My husband likes all the war history stuff, Time Team, the Gold Rush programs, car pimping or Scrap Heap Challenge but will also watch the dramas with me and the soaps. He will watch big football matches but is not really interested in sport. He does watch Britain's Brightest Family and messages fly back and forth with his sister with the answers - I leave them to it

My husband used to like Patrick Moore in The Sky at Night.
That was when you didn't have much to choose from. I wouldn't get a smell-in if he was alive today.

In answer to your OP Overthehill, are most reality shows like TOWIE targeted at women? I don’t really know.

Apparently my DH likes every single programme on TV apart from the stuff I watch. Very, very rarely do we watch the same things, say Line of Duty or football when England or DCFC are on. He loves The Avengers, space crap, you name it he will watch it. We have 2 tellies!

Football is on all the time here. Any football. Fortunately we have two TVs

That thing about the pawn shop (American)
Lots of things on the history channel
He won't watch daytime TV (and who can blame him).
Fortunately most of the dramas that are on we both like.
He used to love travel programmes (what happened to those?)

I think separate TVs are vital to a happy marriage! (Also separate bathrooms but thats another matter!)

My OH watchs all on your list overthehill his ambition in life is to buy one of the classic cars from USA but not much chanse of that,he made do with going to their showroom in Cearars Palace when we where over there.
He insists that all the programmes I watch has baby deliveries just as he decides to eat something,I will watch special programmes on my TV if there is any thing special he wants to watch.
