Evening all! The lemming I live with had an urge for a seaside trip today, so off to the East Coast we went! It’s the one disadvantage of where we are, right in the middle of the country, the sea is not anywhere close! It was a bright, if rather nippy day, so we enjoyed a walk along the beach and of course the obligatory fish and chips, which actually weren’t that nice.

What good news of Mr Syn, the resilience of both the human body and spirit is amazing. Glad you’re feeling a bit better Ann, do take it steady though and don’t be rushing around too soon.

A very elderly neighbour of mine is caring for her husband who has dementia. He’s been admitted to hospital after having awful diarrhoea. The paramedic who atended was so concerned about her she rang the GP to insist they visited to check her out -she’s been unwell with a chesty cough for weeks now. The surgery weren’t keen to oblige but a somewhat cool GP did call, examined her and pronounced “it’s viral no antibiotics needed”. That’s all well and good but my friend felt she was treated dismissively, there was no attempt to find out how she copes with her 98 year old husband etc. Even an acknowledgement of how tiring it must be to do the amazing job she does, day in day out, would have cheered her up no end. I despair!

Well it’s bedtime for me, I’m hoping all that sea air will herald a good nights sleep. TOYA x

Synonymous That sounds really positive and hopefully, after working hard in the gym, your DH will also sleep well. With luck the post operative pain will slowly fade.

Feeling a tad perky here this morning after a much better nights sleep. Not great but huge improvement and that just makes everything seem better !!

Lovely pics GrannieQ , I have the sea in my soul too , I can sit for ages just watching it in all its guises. My father's family have a naval tradition going back several generations so I guess that's where I get it :-) .

( After their stint is finished I have it on good authority that they will joining the rest of the team in the local pub for a fry up- its a tough life for some :-p )

Its ‘beginning to put it all back’ day which involves furniture moving and a degree of crawling on the floor, so will someone tell me why Mr C thought it appropriate to wear his tidy trousers and most recently purchased shirt? I despair.

Appropriately clothed we are about to make a beginning. Wish me luck as the majority of the fairly dusty and ancient ‘stuff’ separated out to be considered for removal is male oriented, could be a lively morning.

Hello the kitchen. Something bit me on the leg yesterday (seems to be a bit of a theme going on at Duster Towers). Probably when I was prowling around the acreage (Ha!?) and it has been driving me mad all night despite putting cream on it. So I am somewhat sleep deprived and grumpy this morning. Add to that the B word related growlings issuing from Mr GD and I will shortly be ready to shout “Pass the leg of lamb!”
We had some good news last night. DD went for a job interview yesterday morning at the University and they rang her up in the afternoon and offered it to her. She’s very pleased. The Uni is the city’s major employer and if they aren’t better organised than the shambolic, uncaring outfit she works for now, there is something amiss.

Gq I recognise your lovely photos as being one of our very favourite places. We usually manage two or three trips a year but for one reason or another we didn’t get there this year and have missed it. I agree, though, that anywhere in this neck of the woods is a long way from any interesting bit of coastline. When we first settled here, it is the one thing DH complained about because where he lives in Wales, they are only half an hour from the sea.

Glad to hear that the head of the Norfolk chapter is feeling better this morning. Told you the potted meat was good?! Hope the boss and L/Cpl Sam catch lots of speeders today! The DC bought DH a trouser press when he left the Army and started his first civilian job. He used it religiously, but now, he has become a ‘draper’ too! However, it would be more than my life is worth to get rid of it!

I am off to take some books back to the library shortly and have a mooch around M&S. I will look in later.

Our choir sang the Faure Requiem last night and we were better than we have been for years. I shall leave them all behind when we move, so it was a bit sad saying goodbye after 24 years. We only sing in the Spring, and I really hope we are gone by then!

soop, my mum has been moved to a general ward (her breathing is easier apparently) from a surgical assessment ward. I guess this means there were no injuries detected that might need surgery. Thank goodness for that as she is very frail. Doc in emergency dept told bro of several small 'issues' which are "manageable" and an occupational therapist has been assigned.

I love my rings.
When I first lost over 3 stone in weight all my rings had to be resized as they were slipping off my fingers.Having lost yet more weight and it is now sadly, a daily occurrence ...... I find my wedding ring actually falling off again....I have not dared to wear any of the others for a long while.
So obviously another refit is due......when will it end I ask?

Have been thinking of you Nannytopsy with your house newly on the market and warily expecting your first viewers.I hope all goes well.
Yet another pair of viewers here today, and what a turn up for the books as they say!! For once the road which has proved to be something of a nightmare has actually turned into being a favour!
This couple it appears had fallen for our property on the net last year,it fitted their wish list exactly.But the price was too high for their purse.Having seen us drop the price however has actually encouraged them to come along and actually view.
Apparently it is everything they thought it was plus the road being an advantage (leading to the rugged western coast with all its beaches) as they intend doing a small B &B.
They have sold 2 small letting properties and their own home is up for sale, with an interested party already looking for a mortgage.They need this 3rd sale to be able to put in a proper offer for this...............but it certainly sounds quite promising.
A “big fly in the ointment though” there is NOTHING even nearly suitable coming up for sale this year as yet and believe it,neither are there any lets.
So we are truly living on a wing and a prayer yet again.

These viewers came from North Wales where they have had snow for several days.......yet here the sun was very welcoming,no snow at all.
I think much the same for tomorrow..........

House moving seems to be in the air. DD2, our witterer, has found a house they would like to move to but it needs lots of work - luckily DSiL works for a house builder. We have already had 3 sketches sent for our comments and they only saw it this morning. I could be spending a lot of time in the kitchen - hiding!

I've not been on GN all week, as I too have been unwell, lots of catching up to do, but I'm sending hugs and prayers to all who need them.

Panache my local jeweller put 4, what they call, sausages inside my loose ring. Now stays on and hasn’t slipped off since.
