DD playing the piano does it every time, she has been playing since she was six and I still get emotional.
When I was ill and she asked what she could do for me I asked her to play for me, she travelled from abroad but came armed with tissues.

gilly so similar to my DS2 when he was 2yrs old he broke top of his leg playing footbal in the garden,he had a cast from waist to toe after being on traction for 8 weeks,as soon as he was allowed home he was back in the garden on his bike pushing himself around with one good leg,I had to whiten the cast with shoe whitener before every fracture clinic visit.

I've always been so thankful that neither were alone when the time came as that to me meant everything and both had known I was there. I have missed them. I loved them both.
Mother's Day used to be pretty difficult for a long time.

I don't cry easily but do get affected by tragic news and tears of joy esp when our DGC do something amazing. I love being taught by my nearly 4 yr old . Not how to suck eggs but similar!! She has shown me how to build a snowman and how to do yoga moves.
How DM would have loved these little people as she did her DGC. I am becoming more like her everyday!

Similar to kitty the thought of my children or grandchildren being hurt or poorly. About 8 years ago my DGD (then 3) broke her leg. It was a nasty break and she was in a cast from top to toe. It was illuminous pink . We were waiting to move to this house and renting an upstairs flat. My son brought her to ours and she would not let him carry her up the stairs . She dragged herself up like a commando with a huge grin at her achievement. I cried so much I couldn’t stop. Gracie just looked at me as though I was a crazy woman...I probably was.

I envy you that travelsafar!

My children or grandchildren being hurt does it for me.

And, of course, events like those in Christchurch where children are suffering.

Just writing a post in another subject about my mum and Mother's Day did just that, my eyes prickled and the tears formed. If you had a loving mother and father it doesn't matter how old you are you still miss them even after so many years of their deaths.
