spark111,why do you feel so sad? Is it as the result of something that has happened recently or a specific event, or just a feeling.

I think it sometimes helps to remind ourselves that if we feel like you do, hiding deep sadness or lack of confidence, behind a cheerful facade, that we are not alone, that many the people we often envy; always cheerful, always happy, life seemingly going so well, are actually feeling just like us.

spark Do you think it would help if you went and talked about it with your doctor? There could well be a way you could be helped. Give it a try? x flowers

I'm so sorry Spark111 rest assured, you are certainly not alone. Many of us put on a brave face because we are scared of being called a moaning Minnie.
Can you at least take some comfort in small things? I find this helps a bit. If you have no-one you can talk to there will always be some sympathy here.

Hi Spark, and welcome, if you are new here. Sorry you are feeling so sad.

You have taken a big step by admitting how you feel here, I understand it's easier than telling your own friends or family, because they have an impression of how you are, and that is just a façade. Please talk on here and get some help, others have felt like you do.

You need to talk.
Gonegirl suggested a doctor, great idea but you probably won’t get much in in 10mins.
He/she maybe able to refer you to a counsellor though.

I am concerned that this is a domestic abuse situation.

M0nica Fri 15-Mar-19 14:11:09

Urmstongran, yes, we could do with hearing from the OP, and some more detail.

SparkIII you don't say why you are sad. Has a certain event or loss caused it, or are you just generally sad, always?

I think most of us wear a mask and plod on through life, smiling and being agreeable even when life is weighing us down, for whatever reason.

If I feel overwhelmed and sad I tend to write down how I am feeling. I am honest and spill it all out in words on paper.

You could try that if you have no one close you can unload with.

A sadness you just cannot shake off is draining, as is pretending all is well. Try to work out what is making you feel sad if you can. If you can't you might have low level depression, and a trip to your GP would be in order.

Feeling for you, because it's a difficult way to live. Hugs through the ether to you.

Thank you so much.

Your OP sounded a bit more than hormonal changes to me. I don’t remember feeling ‘scared’ when I went through it.

You sound better sparkles so that’s good.
