Have my arms shrunk?

I'm having more and more difficulty reaching things!

Not just things which are far away, but my own feet, and (ahem!) other areas.

I think my arms have shrunk, and my middle has grown.

Have you noticed this happening to you?

One of mine has definitely shrunk with this broken shoulder....look like a small velociraptor!!

Love this post, it certainly helps to know that others are having the same problems as yourself. I struggle with top cupboards and bottom cupboards or shelves, so am now limited to the middle ones. The joys of getting older lol! But I do have a very good gadget for putting socks on myself, bought it on eBay and was worth every penny. But nearly redundant now I live in Spain, as rarely need to wear socks anymore!

Juliet27 I wanted to post that but I didn't have the courage. Lol. Yes, I too very quickly reached that conclusion. Not an attractive look!

Annepl. I remember a friend leaning over to clean a mirror on a table and commenting ‘well, I’m never having sex on top again!’

I think my legs may have got longer and my arms shorter. I can't reach my toes to put tights on any more. One foot is ok but then I can't get the other foot in .

I know I've shrunk because my skin doesn't fit anymore. I've just got too much of the stuff.

Dunelm sell a neat little folding stool ….. which is handy for sitting in front of the washing machine taking the washing out.

I try not to bend forward in view of other people, because my face sags Try it with a mirror.?

Blimey annodomini, there’s no way I’d get my fastened bra up over my bum and tum so well done!

annodomini Sat 16-Mar-19 20:54:15

On the advice of another grandsnetter, I now fasten my bra before stepping into it and pulling it up. I don't like fastening it in front and pulling it round because that pulls on my skin, especially if it's still feeling a little damp from the shower.

Nanny lol ...lol

MissAdventure Sat 16-Mar-19 20:21:51

I don't know.
If I bend down that far my glasses fall off and my hearing aids out. blush

My nails seem to have developed vertical ridges which I'm told is yet another age thing! Anyone else found that?

Jalima1108 Sat 16-Mar-19 20:11:18

anyone good with a pencil?
I was supposed to pick up pencils with my toes when I was a child - exercises for flat feet.

Right, I'll go now grin

Gonegirl it's your brain, the more information gets stuffed into it, the heavier it becomes.

I'm seriously thinking of visiting a farrier because my nails have got so tough to cut.
Why does that happen EV - yet at the same time my fingernails split and break!!

I used to have very long arms in comparison to my height but just lately I have found that if I buy a jumper or cardigan, the sleeves are always too long.

Just because I've gone up a size (or two) does not mean that my arms have grown in proportion.

Does anyone think this could be linked to those of us who have problems with a magic wardrobe. Recent post. Not only do things put in the magic wardrobe shrink, but as our arms have shrunk we are well and truly snookered !

Nanny27 Sat 16-Mar-19 19:04:15

I’ve got one bikergran but it’s on the floor and I can’t reach down to pick it up as my knees won’t bend properly anymore.

bikergran Sat 16-Mar-19 18:12:54

anyone good with a pencil? lol

bikergran Sat 16-Mar-19 18:10:55

GabrielleG what a brill idea!! a bookful of GN cartoons (in the nicest possible way of course) hmm

Does anyone remember the "Fred" cartoons they were funny they always had a black cat in the picture.

This thread has put a smile on my face smile

GreenGran78 Sat 16-Mar-19 17:11:46

Gonegirl Heavy bags under your eyes, maybe smile

Gonegirl Sat 16-Mar-19 15:02:58

If I bend over frontways to pick something up from the floor, I now find I'm liable to topple forwards thereby risking landing on my head. I can't work out why this is.

annep1 Sat 16-Mar-19 14:51:27

I can't reach up at the minute and nearly fell over trying pull on bras recently as my feet got in the way.

MissAdventure Sat 16-Mar-19 11:16:13

Me too.
I was hoping everyone would join in. smile
