My mother would think it was a lot of nonsense! Sharing your thoughts with strangers, she would have been horrified!
In fact if she was still alive, she would have "banned" me from going to the meetups in case I was kidnapped . grin!

Interesting thought, yes, I think that had she mastered on-line, she probably would have enjoyed Gransnet

I think my mum would probably have enjoyed a chat! She would have been 97 later this month but alas died in 1984 aged 61. She was open to change, challenged inequality, felt strongly about family ..yup she would have joined!

Dare not tell my Aunt (94) she would be on here causing havoc on the political threads! She skypes/facetimes & uses FB.

Absolutely not. She would have thought correctly that we were wasting a lot of time and giving out too much personal information. She was a very private person.

My mother could barely speak to the neighbours let alone anyone else.

My Mother would have loved GN, she was extremely sociable and enjoyed people and a good old natter. She was texting up till a couple of days before she died, she had embraced technology, had a kindle and sent emails on it.

No definitely not. My mother was an old fashioned very private person and would have been horrified by all the personal revelations. My mother was born in 1896 so it's hard to comprehend how modern life would seem to her.

Possibly generational, we all think nothing of it grin and the generations behind us well they are different again in the sometimes indiscreet ways they can conduct themselves on line. I suppose we are all of our time. I think my mother might have rather enjoyed such a forum.

Nope, my mother would never have interacted with strangers.

Just that really, I'm sure if my mum had been on line this may have been a site that appealed to her. What about yours? and if you think she would have subscribed to this site what threads would have drawn her in?
