I batch cook soups, stews, curries and casseroles and freeze in single portions. Then, OH and I can have a "quick" meal when our busy schedule makes it difficult to cook from scratch. We grow our own veggies and freeze those when we harvest so only have to rely on shop bought if we want something different. Whenever possible I freeze leftovers too as I hate to waste food.

I have nearly given up on cooking , living on sandwiches and soup . The soup is homemade , it is the only thing I seem to be bothered cooking ,it freezes well . The bread made in the breadmaker gets sliced and frozen too

Well I still tend to cook for two, so eat half and freeze half. At the moment I have in the freezer 2 pasta bakes, home-made burgers, curry, chilli, spicy lamb, Creole chicken, and a beef hotpot, so plenty to choose from when I don't feel like cooking.

My freezer is tiny, just enough space for a pack of mixed, summer vegetables which I need as I am virtually housebound and can't shop every day for fresh.

However, I do keep little pots of homemade soup in the door and that, quite often, is all I want in a meal.

It's many years since I've eaten what most people regard as a 'normal' meal and recently in hospital, had to send back two of the three courses each time.

Yes, I do it once a week.

Yes! I make family size meals of most things like curry, chilli, stews, cottage pies, lasagnes and divide them up and freeze them.
I don't like ready made food at all and not a take-away fan either.
I am never without homemade soup in the fridge.
So much more healthy and tasty than shop bought.

Frequently. Tonight's supper was lamb curry and vegetable curry, both were home-made and bulk cooked some months ago. The rice was freshly cooked.

I am feeling rather pleased with myself today. I bought meat at the butchers yesterday, used vegetables and beans I already had at home ,and I have been making stews and cottage pie. Altogether I have made 18 portions of food for the freezer for about £16. This will last me ages.Does anyone else do this.?
