Evening all, and good wishes to you.

Being a bit naughty tonight, in that we are not sitting at the table to eat! shock

I will be eating my supper on the sofa, in the sitting room.

Mr P will be having his tea on the settee in the lounge!

(He only says it to tease!)

I know this lounge/sitting room has been done before, so this is just meant to amuse.

And, btw, he who should not be named, there is nothing anti man or androdynistic in this post, so there!

I ate my dinner sitting in my favourite armchair at one end of the lounge/diner DS ate his sitting on the sofa. Friday is supermarket take-a-way night.
DH sat at the dining table the other end of the room with his curry, rice, Bombay potatoes and popadoms plus a glass of red. Hence his need to sit at the table.
We do all sit together at the table other nights.

I ate my tea in the living room, at the table. Afterwards I sat on the sofa.

Living room for us!

gillybob Sat 02-Mar-19 09:07:03

Well our dining table is in the family room ( on the ground floor) which is where we always eat . My lounge is on the first floor where I sit on the sofa and Mr usually sits on the floor making the room look a mess . Grrrr

Last time we had dinner on the settee in the sitting room it went belly up on the pale grey carpet (pasta with tomato sauce). My DH calls it the front room although it is in the back!

At grammar school our headmistress sent us to "luncheon" since I married my N Z husband we have eaten "tea" and now my daughter insists I give the DGC "dinner" at 5.30pm. Weird.

eazybee Sat 02-Mar-19 08:01:29

I grew up with a settee in the front room and ate breakfast, dinner and tea at a table in the back room or kitchen. When I married I sat on a three piece suite in the sitting room and ate brunch and dinner at a table in the dining room.
Now I lounge on sofas, eat breakfast and lunch at the table at one end of the living room, and usually partake of supper from a tray balanced on the footstool in front of the television at the other end of the room.
And I read at the table!

I slept on the sofa in the sitting room as I’d fallen asleep watching tv and it seemed unfair to wake DH up by going to bed at 1.00am and the puplet was very snuggly. ?I didn’t have any dinner as I wasn’t hungry, DH ate at the dining room table as he was finishing some work on his laptop, DD ate in her room as she’s just finished nights and is still out of kilter on sleep patterns.
DS1 didn’t come home from work until nearly midnight and then ate cereal walking around the kitchen(no wonder he is skinny!)
DS2 went to work at 9pm for his night shift so no idea when he ate.
We are a family of shift workers, must make it very frustrating for any potential burglars, there’s always someone in/awake/downstairs/upstairs plus two dogs who sleep with both ears open in case of a random crisp packet opening.?

We had our supper sitting in the sofa in the sitting room. (But of a tongue twister there) ?
I then taxied DD and DGD to the local swimming pool for granddaughter's kayak lesson. I didn't get home again until after 11 pm. I'm now in bed in my bedroom, it's never been a boudoir.?

Grammaretto Fri 01-Mar-19 23:46:15

Boudoir conjures up a private, luxurious bedroom. It doesn't have to have frills but it might be fragrant with fresh flowers. grin

Jalima1108 Fri 01-Mar-19 23:08:42

actually, neither is mine.

boudoir makes me think of frilly net curtains and I can't stand frills.

Grammaretto Fri 01-Mar-19 23:04:53

Mine's definitely not a boudoir!
I'd like a boudoir mind.

Jalima1108 Fri 01-Mar-19 22:58:50

grin
slightly squiffy now grin
half a bottle of wine!!
he has gone off to bed in the bedroom
I shall retire to the boudoir later.

Urmstongran Fri 01-Mar-19 22:58:01

Clever Jalima what you did there!

Jalima1108 Fri 01-Mar-19 22:55:08

ps I helped to finish the bottle of wine in the sitting room. DH preferred to sit in the lounge. Both watching the same programme on the same telly. grin

BradfordLass72 Fri 01-Mar-19 22:01:13

All these rooms: dining room, kitchen, lounge, sitting room, drawing room, garden room.

In my house that's just one room. grin

callgirl1 Fri 01-Mar-19 21:53:40

Lynne ate in her recliner chair, me on the settee, both in the living room. Mind you, we don`t have a table, so not really any other option.

Bathsheba Fri 01-Mar-19 21:49:30

I had my evening meal sitting at the table in the sewing dining room, while DH ate his sitting on the divan in the drawing room. Or perhaps he was drawing on the divan in the sitting room. hmm. I'll have to ask him...

Urmstongran Fri 01-Mar-19 21:42:00

We had ours at the dining table in the big room and watched the news on tv while we ate.

NanKate Fri 01-Mar-19 21:34:11

As it is a Friday DH had a nice chilled Bacardi and coke and I had a white wine spritzer. I lay with my legs up on the sofa and DH in his swivel chair in front of the fire in the sitting room/lounge. We watched the going back in time at school for the 1980s fascinating.

Day6 Fri 01-Mar-19 21:16:29

We ate our dinner in separate rooms! Happily. He was in the sitting room on the sofa, watching football, I was in the (other sitting room? ) in a wing back armchair listening to music as I ate. I shall call it the.. erm...morning room (because it gets all the morning sunshine?) or the ..erm..music room, maybe? All I know is, it's MY room, my retreat. smile

Feelingmyage55 Fri 01-Mar-19 21:09:21

Feelingmyage55 Fri 01-Mar-19 21:08:50

varian Fri 01-Mar-19 21:08:20

We had ours on the sofa in the tv room.

Lisagran Fri 01-Mar-19 21:07:53
