Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in Brackley this morning, my usual Thursday jaunt today on the buses .
I enjoy going briefly to Bicester sometimes meeting former work mates, and Buckingham has a long time family link to a hamlet north of Buckingham itself.

Congratulations, Mick, for cheering us all up. We do feel for the folk sending in posts in frustration and for advice but it's good to end the session with such cheerfulness. I enjoyed the sunshine, while it lasted.

Morning from Norwich. A beautiful sunny day here. We re obviously very lucky with our weather !!

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 28-Feb-19 09:44:13

Morning all from a dullish South Notts. Hope all is well. Just pottering today and a patchwork group this evening.

Mapleleaf Thu 28-Feb-19 09:32:46

Good morning everyone,
Greyduster has the forecast spot on for our neck of the woods. Such a contrast to yesterday, but it’s dry so still able to get out and about without the need for hats and brollies.
Hope you all have a decent day, and those of you with appointments/treatments today, good luck, and those of you feeling less than 100%, I hope you feel better soon.
Take care, all.

Good morning All x
Dull dark foggy and generally murky this morning---what a come-down !
INR at surgery this morning so it'll be interesting after a meal yesterday with raw root ginger in it ( it's a thinner )

I won't be doing much else today I don't think apart from getting some fresh crumpets for future breakfasts.

Hope the day goes well for everyone, including gillybob smile

Morning Michael, Annie and all. I woke up thinking it was March 1st, then realised it is still February! Had a lovely couple of hours in the garden yesterday, that's all I can manage these days, but oh I did enjoy myself. Last night, one of the arms of my specs fell off, while watching TV, nade me jump, so off to S.....s to get them fixed this morning. We were going to have a day out, but may have to change our plans now, botherations.
Have a good day one and all.

Good Morning from a very foggy Co Armagh

BlueSapphire Thu 28-Feb-19 08:31:22

Good morning all, it's been foggy in Northampton this morning, but the sun has just come out.
I am planning on having a lazy morning after a hectic few days with the girls, and then hoping to cut the grass this afternoon.
A good evening at wine club yesterday evening, and I got through the day ok. DD stayed over and she has just gone to work.
Sorry to hear you are poorly Maw.
Hope everyone's day goes well.

Mythbirtthedragon Thu 28-Feb-19 08:14:25

Good morning from east London. Dull and grey this morning - remains to be seen if tennis is outside again. Back at choir again tonight; feeling very chuffed with myself as I've booked my flights to go with the choir to Mull in April. Have a good day

Grammaretto Thu 28-Feb-19 08:10:50

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is dreich and cold again. I was enjoying the warm spell and have arranged to meet an old friend today for a walk somewhere nice - may have to alter our plans.
I love that your birthday treats extend over several days Brunette10grin
Sorry to hear you are still poorly Mawflowers
Good wishes to all who are unwell or unhappy.

ninathenana Thu 28-Feb-19 08:07:37

Good morning everyone.

No fog this morning yeah ! If they are right today is the last sunny day in Kent for a while.
Youngest GS has chicken pox but they live too far for this nannie to play nurse maid.
DH out mowing a friends lawn after he's cooked breckie......he wanted to, honestly
Have a good day all.

Greyduster Thu 28-Feb-19 08:07:22

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Well, that was the sun that was! It’s a cool grey day in South Yorkshire after yesterday’s glorious swan song. That’ll teach us! We are off to the tip to get rid of our garden rubbish, and then school run this afternoon. DH has a very sticky eye and ‘man flu’. Have a good day, folks.

dragonfly46 Thu 28-Feb-19 07:56:34

Good Morning from a lovely bright sunny Leicestershire.

Coffee with friends this morning then DH has an osteopath appointment.

Hope you feel better soon maw I am hoping my scratchy throat isn’t going to develop.

Urmston wishing your Dad’s trip to the doctor goes well.
Funny you should say that every day being a Sunday is a good thing. It is the one day of the week I hate.

Urmstongran Thu 28-Feb-19 07:50:35

Morning gillybob it’s so nice to have you back. Your posts are always of interest. - I like your directness ?

Brunette10 Thu 28-Feb-19 07:48:33

Morning to everyone and to those who follow. It’s dull and damp here in Fife this morning, what a change. No matter we’ve been lucky these last few days and normality has to kick in sometime. Off for a couple of days visiting Glasgow. My birthday treat so looking forward to the change of scenery. Susan56 you too will have to get used to the change of hubby retiring. Hope all have a nice day.

Marydoll Thu 28-Feb-19 07:48:23

Good morning all from a chilly and misty Glasgow.
Off to Lidl and hope to spend some time in the garden before picking up DGD.

The garden needs a lot of work after all our building work, it used to be my pride and joy. It's so frustrating not being able to do physically, what I used to do.
Unfortunately DH won't hear of employing a gardener, as he likes to do the work himself. However, whereas I would like to be out everyday, he likes to fit it around golf etc.

Susan, your poor husband doesn't know what is ahead of him! grin
Maw, hope you feel better soon.
Brunette enjoy your special birthday treat.

Have a pleasant day, everyone.

oldgaijin Thu 28-Feb-19 07:48:06

Good morning all from grey but dry Aberdeenshire. Just as well it isn't t too cold as I have no heating or hot water...yesterday's boiler service became a major job so I hope the chap returns today with the new part.
No gardening today as the ironing beckons.
Have a good day everyone.

gillybob Thu 28-Feb-19 07:46:49

Thick fog during the night here on the NE coast. Not a lot of sleep was had due to the fog horn and a big ship sounding their horns in unison all night long. Quite a murky grey start to Thursday (just like my mood)

Off to “that place” yuk.

Urmstongran Thu 28-Feb-19 07:46:47

Good morning everyone from a greyish but mild South Manchester. No sun. No sight of the Pennines just total heavy pale grey cloud cover. People walking to the train station in heavy coats, off to work and school.

Taking dad to the doctors late afternoon. He’s anxious I know and so am I.

Your description of your cold being a ‘bonzer’ made me smile Maw it’s ages since I heard that word! Hope you’re feeling better soon - resting and waiting is all you can do really. And Susan what a lovely time of the year for your husband to begin his retirement - all the sunny, bright weather to enjoy with no work. My mum used to say ‘everyday is Sunday’!

MawBroon Thu 28-Feb-19 07:38:57

wink

Susan56 Thu 28-Feb-19 07:38:36

MawBroon how did you know?

MawBroon Thu 28-Feb-19 07:37:16

But Susan56 has he seen the length of the “To do” list you are compiling for him? grin

Susan56 Thu 28-Feb-19 07:27:51

Good morning all.Damp here in Shropshire and feeling much colder.Usual Thursday, waiting for DGD to arrive for her sleepover.DH has given his notice in and will be retiring at the end of May?He is usually a happy chap but his happiness has gone up a notch knowing the end is in sight. He has enjoyed his job but after nearly 50 years is ready to take it easy.
