Meghan's Baby Shower.

The flowers from guests' bouquets and items from a 'flower arranging course' were reworked after the event by a firm that then passes them on to charity'.

I don't know what you think but having read details of the 'no expense spared' extravaganza, isn't this just a modern day version of 'crumbs from the rich man's table?'

I do think it's a good idea but I can't make up my mind about her motives. Showing off her vast wealth in the company of celebs like the Clooneys is not going to endear her to hard-up folk who normally turn out to support the Royals. Has nobody warned her it could all come crashing down?

hmm

Rich 'do gooders' claim to be worried about climate change then they jet off all over the world on holiday as well as for work. Rich 'do gooders' claim to be worried about the poor then they go on tv to ask US to donate money to a cause of THEIR choice.

Meghan could have asked for the 300,000 pounds her baby shower cost to be donated to buy a string of houses (up north) for injured and/or homeless ex British soldiers. But no, let's twiddle with a few flowers instead to amuse ourselves, gals, and then make ourselves feel better by giving them to some hospital or whatnot. Flowers should be left in gardens for the insects (what's left of them) to enjoy!

Look overtime, and there has been a few, there is a post about MM you will get the people who love her and those that don't. Last one I remember was about some dress she wore, when you said you didn't like it etc your were being abusive and bullying. We are not all positive about her and never will be and me saying I don't liked the way she always poses with her hand on her bump is not in my eyes being abusive or bullying, it is a comment.

Yes we won.

She looks further on than seven months in some of the latest photos.

I think it is airline policy not to allow any pregnant woman 36 weeks or over to fly, because they do not want the bother if they were to go into Labour.

Totally understand why she took up the Clooneys offer of a private jet, she might have met some gransnet members on a schedule flight?

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 19:04:22

Where as on a private jet, presumably you can take whoever you want with you.
But on the health / safety isuue I have no idea

merlotgran Sat 23-Feb-19 19:03:11

She's flying to Morocco so it doesn't make sense.

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 19:02:54

Yes you would think so, but I don’t know that much about it,my thinking was on commercial flights they would not want someone going into premature labour.

Lily65 Sat 23-Feb-19 18:58:51

I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry. If its not safe to be 7 months pregnant and flying surely that's it ? end of story?

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 18:33:18

Perhaps Lily it’s because the jet is private, maybe, just a thought ?

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 18:32:00

Wales now winning

Lily65 Sat 23-Feb-19 18:21:18

If you can't go on a normal plane when 7 months pregnant how come you can go on a jet? Honestly don't understand that.

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 18:09:39

Wales 9 England 10 great game so far

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 18:05:10

Definitely a lot of spitefulness on here
If you don’t like it don’t watch it
No amount of wealth can protect a person from bullying
It destroys the soul of the receiver & of the perpetrators

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 17:58:22

And Annaram1?

merlotgran Sat 23-Feb-19 17:58:16

Blacktabby has a point. Those of us who had our babies in the sixties remember ordering the pram but not collecting it until after the baby was born as it was considered a wise precaution.

Gift giving and celebration was done after the baby was safely delivered.

I know things have moved on a lot since then but I don't feel easy about such lavish celebrations before the event.

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 17:57:17

Well said Destin, & Lesleyann9
Men are so much better behaved towards each other than we woman .
Come on ladies we should be better than this.?

Anniebach Sat 23-Feb-19 17:51:19

Jealous of what ?

merlotgran Sat 23-Feb-19 17:47:13

I doubt Prince Harry will see my pots. He has yet to visit my garden.

Annaram1 Sat 23-Feb-19 17:43:34

All you Meghan bashers are just jealous as hell. I am glad Prince Harry wont see your pots.

Blacktabby2 Sat 23-Feb-19 17:34:19

Someone l know recently a baby shower. Sadly the baby was a stillborn.

Destin Sat 23-Feb-19 17:28:40

Nice comment Lesleyann9 - instead of too much negativity going round and round on this subject, let’s all try be a little more thankful for whatever we have in our own lives at this moment.

Bridgeit Sat 23-Feb-19 17:24:06

Megan needs to start learning to be discreet?
Umm , do you want us to go back a century or more , pregnant Ladies should not be seen in public ?
I don’t believe she has taken a selfie & sent it out to the media, she has to have some expression on her face etc etc. ?

crystaltipps Sat 23-Feb-19 17:17:10

They don’t “court controversy “ they are in the public eye and photographed constantly whether doing royal duties or out and about privately. If Meghan wears the wrong thing, holds her bump, smiles, doesn’t smile, meets her friend whatever, she’ll get in the neck from some quarters. It’s become a bit of a national sport.

HannahLoisLuke Sat 23-Feb-19 17:14:27

It's just tacky.
Meghan needs to start learning to be discreet.
