I do love the sound of soops but to be honest I find I’m a little shy in asking whether could I come in and join you?

You sound such a friendly and supportive bunch (I’ve been peeping for a while now!) but I’m unsure whether it’s okay to just step into your warm and friendly kitchen without invitation?

I treated myself to 2 pairs of trousers, a silky, pretty blouse and a pair of shoes.
I wonder if any will go back when I have tried them on at home and checked if they go with things I already have?
We are going out to eat tonight, it is to a dog friendly pub as the very spoilt dog has to go everywhere if the whole family are going.

Good news Panache , I echo Charleys thoughts, rent what works for you and once the money is in the bank you can take time to breathe and make choices. We had our movers pack for us last year and what a godsend !! They even took apart furniture and reassembled it once they delivered it . They store too , so if you had to take a furnished place you could move just the 2 of you and a suitcase.

Your village sounds like ours Soop its such a joyous place to live, there is a real concern for each other . Best choice we ever made !

Your post resonated with me Feeling ! About 10 years ago on the death of my father my siblings and I made a conscious decision to not only meet up together at funerals and weddings . We now go away for a week every 2 years with our spouses. We spend the week chatting ( drinking) being generally silly and just generally being part of each others lives. That way when the day comes for one of us to go we have celebrated the heck out of our lives :-)

Its been simply glorious here , long may it last !

Good news, dragonfly. I shall learn what my treatment will be when we visit hospital on Friday. The affected breast is a hell of a lot larger than the other. It's the waiting that is stressful. The knowing is easier to come to terms with. for you.

ann retail therapy is hard to beat. Do return to tell us nosy lot what it is you treat yourself to. Have you enough handbags?

We are off for some retail therapy in beautiful sunny weather yet again.

When I awoke this morning, I felt nauseous and lack-lustre. After a wee lie-in we went for our usual walk and the sunshine, birdsong and flowers helped to invigorate me. We live in a small, close-knit community. A short walk and a visit to the only shop is like a proper outing. Folk stop to blether. News is shared. Dogs are patted. Babies cooed at. We love this place. It's good to be alive.

Went to see my lovely oncologist today and she isn't a bit worried. She has put me back on the tablets and will see me again in four weeks to do the ECG herself.

I have left homemade leek and potato soup on the side if anybody feels like a little lunch.

N&G The photos of the hares are prize winners. I have only ever glimpsed a solitary creature some long time ago. Such a beautiful and graceful animal.

Panache The time is right. YES, it will mean upheavel that you can well do without. However, the result will be worth the stress and ultimately give you a more settled lifestyle and a peaceful state of mind. Good vibes a plenty from Us lot.

Wander through the kitchen door, hoping to catch up, realising that it will take time, smiling inwardly and scoffing a waffle dribbling with maple syrrup she wishes.

Believe me ladies I hear all you say,what is more I heartily agree....... and we have followed every path,even pushy........ which is not our nature.
Of course we are serious about moving as it is no fun having strangers trek endlessly throughout your whole home ......especially as normally we are private.

We really need sheltered Housing only as our situation deepens,needs are multiplying and I can assure you, every one that should know, is by now probably sick and tired of us actually calling on them,phoning and e mailing.

Sadly the main problem here in this County is simply there are few resources to meet our needs,and the many others like us.......... so of course there is that long waiting list ...............although we are nearing the top
Already the two Sheltered Housing schemes and several estate agents are on the ball.............but other than that we are unable to do much else and this is only adding to both our stress.

Hard though it is to consider please rope in all local resources panache to support a move. Tell your estate agent you will accept the offer if he/she can find you somewhere suitable to move to, should encourage them. As feelingmyage suggests make retirement housing providers and Housing Associations aware of your needs and that you are in a position to move. I know it’s hard when energy is low but it seems so important to help you both be able to relax a bit. Fingers will be firmly crossed for you here.

Be brave n&g, thinking about that appointment will be far worse than the reality. It will be worth it to be comfortable again.
