I meant it is snowing in Leicestershire!!!!

It's doing neither in my bit ann but we have had both within the last hour. soop is rather more rural than we are but I expect they haven't noticed the weather yet.

I know only too well what you mean about your short and "different" surname Mamissimo we have a similar problem and people almost always spell it wrongly and the pronunciation is to be heard to be believed!!!!
Coupled with the fact my first name Florence precedes it on my Medical notes, and as I am not called by that name as a rule there are fun and games in these waiting rooms sometimes!!!

Been there,done that (and yes thoroughly enjoyed it ) Doodle back in time .......might even have won a T Shirt! but now I am buckling down to being just a humble wife!!!

This is my first time in Soop's Kitchen and what a lovely warm place it is. The cakes look so good, I'll bring some next time.
Greyduster your shipping areas tale did make me laugh.

Welcome linamillion - it is a cosy place but once you get to "know" the people who frequent it you will find how kind and caring people are and never a cross word is said here, not even in jest.

The sunshine has vanished but provided the white stuff stays away I will be happy. Anyway it will not fall here as it is 19C- rather too warm for it.

Hello the kitchen! A mixed bag of weather, then. We had no snow on our side of the city, but where DD lives they are higher and it sweeps in from the Peak District. There was talk of enough snow for sledging this morning!! However, football came first, they were playing on our side of the city so yes, we dragged ourselves out of bed (touch and go in my case) again, and stood in the rain and sleet. It was horrible for the boys to play soaking wet with half a ton of mud sticking to their boots, so the least we could do to stand and cheer them on. I bought myself a huge hot dog at half time and DD said “Mother, are you really going to eat that?” My reply? “Watch me!”?. I’m kind of regretting it now.
Roast pork for a late lunch today, but in the meantime feet up, coffee and warmth!

Well, what d’you know? The sun is out now! I will look in later, when I have thawed out a bit!

It is very windy here but the sun has shone nearly all day. I do not know what the long term forecast is but we have been very lucky in London.

I do hope that soop arrives home safely this evening- she has a busy week ahead of her. She also has to supervise the feeding of at least one feral cat.

We had a fair bit of snow in Leicestershire this morning. It snowed for about 3 hours but then rained so it disappeared.

Had a lovely weekend with DD and SiL (and Chow Chow) but I am shocked by how exhausted I am. I am hoping it is the medication I am on and not old age setting in. Late nights are not good for me!

Also Facetimed the DS and DG who are living it up in Dubai for a week. It looks amazing like a giant theme park.

Hoping Soop had a good weekend - it has been pretty wet, and that she gets back safely.

I have been out of action for the last couple of days so am behind on the goings on in the kitchen.Greyduster,loved your story of the shipping forecast,brought back many happy memories of my dear late dad who was a marine pilot.Urmstongran,I too am glad of the refuge of the kitchen,such a lovely comforting and friendly place to be.

Hi kitcheners. Just had a call from soop. She had just had very bad news about her friend who has died suddenly. As I understand it, this was the friend with whom soop used to go to the care home to visit the friend's husband. Soop visited others at the home too, I think.

Anyway, soop's in a state of deep shock, as you can imagine. She has had a wonderful, wonderful time with family, is staying overnight tonight in Glasgow, home tomorrow and back to Paisley on Tuesday to prepare for her operation.

I think the bad news has made a dent in the adrenaline flow that has kept our dear soop going and so upbeat of late. I know you will all do your utmost with kitchener vibes for her.

Such sad news for soop she will be in shock.
I hope she realises that these thing happen and she needs to be on form for Wednesday.
Harsh I know but she must put herself first.
What a sad end to a lovely weekend with her family.

Evening All. It’s been busy here and I’ve no chance of catching up. So apologies to all.

We’re newly returned from a huge treat. We’ve been to some very cold places in Norway in search of the Northern Lights and seen them. Three nights in a row. We still can’t believe our luck, truly breathtaking as was the pristine snow and a close encounter with some reindeer. Of course snow stops nothing in Norway, travelling was easy, we could learn a lot. Our final anniversary celebration. Back to normality now and an unreasonable amount of washing.

Delighted mr panache has made it home. The best place to recover in my view. Try not to exhaust yourself panache, care for yourself too.

Oh the shipping forecast greyd, there was something reassuring and soothing about it.

That sounds wonderful cornergran I envy you that experience.
We are of an age when we must take every opportunity.
Sadness is around the corner for so many but we must enjoy every minute.
I have made phone calls to two friends today, one where the wife has had a second stroke and one dear friend whose husband had an op for bowel cancer in Friday, he is still in HDU.
We must treasure every minute and every experience.

Soop so so sorry to hear the news about your friend. Thrilled you had a wonderful weekend and hope the news did not take that away.
We are all looking forward to seeing you back here where we can in part support you in this and your sojourn in hospital.
