soop I am so pleased that you have a surgery date for next week- get it over and done with and it will be another buggeration out of the way.

I promise that we will not have a party and invite MacSporran because we know he belongs to you. If we do not get have a get together the weak willed will not be tempted so no worries there.

Have a really good time with your family over the weekend and please remember you are having an anaesthetic next week, the NHS can afford it- they do not want you reeling in with alcoholic poisoning to help dull any pain.

Have a super weekend Soop!

eilyann Thu 07-Mar-19 14:05:12

Have a wonderful family weekend Soop . We're all rooting for you - you are an inspiration!

soop Thu 07-Mar-19 15:46:54

you lot are amazing. Have I said so before? If not wink I wish to post that message right this minute. So there!

It is a glorious day, sunny and a wee bit blustery. The sea is shimmering. A beautiful shade of teal.

Cat visited again last night. We've been arranging all the creature food-stuffs in readiness for our house sitters. I couldn't be absent without providing for the flock of birds, three crows and a visiting black cat.

Bag packed. Not too heafty. Documents sorted. Camera recharged. Medication in safe place.

This isn't my final visit. I shall return later this after...smile

dragonfly46 Thu 07-Mar-19 16:11:45

Documents Soop? Don't forget your passport!! The weather is not too good down here in Leicestershire so pack a mac!
I am quite envious of you next Wednesday - it will then be over!
Hope you have an amazing weekend xx

Anneliese63 Thu 07-Mar-19 17:07:49

aggie Thu 07-Mar-19 17:33:49

Soop have a great weekend xxx

soop Thu 07-Mar-19 17:34:58

I shall most certainly raise a glass of bubbly to you all. The house is spic and span. Freshly bathed and hair washed. I'm wearing my tartan nightie. Very fetching it is too.

PLEASE take good care of yourselves and each other. I doubt that I shall have any quiet, spare time in which to send messages. If I can, I shall.

You will not be too far from my thoughts. Does that sound corny? Tough! It's the truth.

Dragonfly When your turn comes, you will have us lot to boost your spirits.
That is also true of all our Granspals who continue to deal with life's stressful buggerations. Remain positive. Enjoy the good times. smile moon

Looks like I`ve missed you Soop, but just in case you look in again, have a wonderful time with your family, MacSporran as well xx

NanaandGrampy Thu 07-Mar-19 19:11:44

Evening all!

Safe travels soop !! Enjoy your family time !! Glad you have your surgery date too ! We will TRY and behave whilst you’re gone , but if MacS pops in wearing his kilt I might be tempted to practice my gay Gordon’s with him ?

Thank you all for your kind words about my granddaughter . It’s such a worry but hopefully her Mum has got it under control , we shall see . I am still tempted to storm the school and explain the error of their ways but will wait to see how things pan out.

Young Jackson is seriously unhappy at being banned from PE and football for 2 weeks . It’s been a long road for him since Christmas and this just added insult to injury. He sent me a picture because he didn’t want me to worry! I’m hoping this is our last hospital trip for a while anno ?

We had a fabulous walk in Thetford Forest today with Sam , it was very chilly but bright ! I’ve added a picture of me ....... it might have been colder than I said?, but Sam enjoyed walk!

lol

Charleygirl5 Thu 07-Mar-19 19:20:26

N&G Sam does look happy but who is this Yeti woman all covered up? Was the snow 6 feet on the ground and still falling?!

2 weeks is a long time in a young man's life- poor Jackson.

Willow500 Thu 07-Mar-19 19:37:39

Just popped in to say have a lovely weekend Soop. Thank you for bravely posting the photos too - it's always good to actually see what we should be looking for. I'm pleased your surgery is going to be so soon so as not to have to wait and dwell. This time next week it will all be over and you can start the road to recovery.

kittylester Thu 07-Mar-19 21:20:10

We once took one of our boys into our little local hospital's a&e and the nurse said something along the lines of 'we were only saying recently that you hadn't been in for a while.' The boys seemed to make full use of the bus with broke bits and pieces but, as far as I can recall, we only took one daughter. She put a pretty stone up her nose 'to look like all the beautiful Indian ladies'.

I'm glad you got a date soop, that must be a weight off your shoulders.

We have just had such sad news. A friend of our 2 younger daughters has been diagnosed with MND. He's 37 years old. They were part of a lovely crowd of Nottingham Forest Football fans and went all over the place. I am really struggling to believe it.

To cheer me up I'm posting some World Book Day photos. Bertie would go as a character from a book but a favourite footballer from a magazine.

callgirl1 Fri 08-Mar-19 00:05:06

Lovely photos Kitty.
N&G, whenever did you meet up with Nanook of the North? Jackson looks quite cheery, bless him.
Best wishes to all who are poorly or waiting for health type news.
Lynne`s care package from Adult social care started today, OK so far, but she`s still not keen on the idea.

Feelingmyage55 Fri 08-Mar-19 06:25:40

Dear soop, wishing you and your family a lovely weekend. You need and deserve it. Enjoy every moment.
Woken early this morning, a busy day ahead, listening to a thrush singing in the dawn. Kind thoughts to all in need of them for themselves and those they care about.
Have left some bacon to crisp up in the kitchen oven and a tray of warm rolls for breakfast - nothing like some comfort food to warm us up. Enjoy.

grannyqueenie Fri 08-Mar-19 09:58:09

Probably too late to wish soop safe travels and lots of fun, but do hope she has a great time before her op.

kitty what sad news you’ve had, that’s so young to be diagnosed with mnd. Your lovely gd looks just the part!

Nanook of the North is one of our family expressions too, callgirl, it sprang to mind immediately when i saw that photo of n&g! Poor Jackson is not having an easy time!

Tied to home today with various tradesmen apparently coming, it’s never a good idea to leave the old boy to deal with these things unattended! Oh well i supose the silver lining might be getting some those “round tuit” jobs getting done.
Have a good day everyone! x

NanaandGrampy Fri 08-Mar-19 10:00:13

Morning all !

Flying visit this morning as I am off out to meet my friends from uni !

I know Charley I wasn’t quite so covered up on our walk but there was a whistling wind out there !

Love the World Book Day pictures Kitty ! Have added the little boys .... Jackson is a road! As you do ! His year have a joint book and there were 4 choices including a traffic cone lol

Cooper is Daddy Bear of course mainly because his girlfriend Jessica is Goldilocks. They’re going to get married soon and there will be a cake made of porridge and jelly babies at the reception - you are all invited !

I’ll grab a bacon roll as I leave - thanks Feelingmyage ?

Charleygirl5 Fri 08-Mar-19 14:58:25

kitty and N&G I loved the photos- all are looking so happy.

kitty to be diagnosed with mnd at any age is horrendous but at age 37- what can one say?

Tara is having another day indoors, attached to me today.

I hope that soop has arrived safely and will let her hair down this weekend.

Doodle Fri 08-Mar-19 20:30:44

I hope soop is having a good time too. Well deserved I think ?.
kitty so sorry to hear about your childrens friend. That’s a young age to be faced with such a diagnosis. Love your photos. I can’t believe you’ve got 9 DGC (think you mentioned it on another thread). I’ve only got 3 and find it hard to keep up with everyone’s doings and latest interests. I bet they keep you on your toes ?.
N&G I love the idea of the road outfit. Thank you so much for your invitation to Cooper’s wedding ?. I love the idea of a jelly baby cake ....not too sure about the porridge bit though! ?
charley do you and Tara plan your ‘girls day in’? Is it snuggled up on the sofa watching a romcom eating ice cream? If so, I might have to join you. Budge up Tara ?

Izabella Fri 08-Mar-19 20:54:42

Well I find myself on the final day of our foray to this island paradise. Currently in a hammock and surveying the world. We both have recharged batteries ready to face the world again after an uncharacteristic two weeks of “doing nowt”. We seem to have an action plan which will remain fluid

I have managed (mostly) to follow events in the kitchen although sadly there appears to be a dearth of lemon drizzle. May I pre-order for Monday please? I shall get some golden rum to bring home and hopefully remember to place some in the kitchen for those who would enjoy a snifter.

Kind thoughts to all kitcheners and families in need of support and care. My profound thanks to all of you who have posted and pm’d me with words of hope and encouragement. You will never know just how much it has meant to me. soop I have sent you a message

annsixty Fri 08-Mar-19 21:09:09

Izabella I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your break, you deserve it and it will help you face the future.
My D lived in Antigua for 3 years and we became very fond of Appleton's rum, if that is what you are offering I am there with my (large) glass.
My very best wishes to you in the future.
I am just in from a meal out with my GD and her friend.
It was lovely, Italian actually, with good food and wine, just what I needed,
Hope soop is in the bosom of her lovely family and enjoying every minute,.

Charleygirl5 Fri 08-Mar-19 22:05:47

Doodle Tara's idea of bliss is to stretch her body across my keyboard when I am attempting unsuccessfully to type. Her second is to lie on the top of my armchair with me in it. She is not a lap cat.

ann what a pleasant night out- enjoy a night's sleep.

N&G I love the photos of Cooper and Jackson- I hope I am not upsetting anybody by passing on the food. Have they sorted out accommodation? The outfits are fab.

Kitty also lovely photos of happy children.

megan123 Fri 08-Mar-19 22:12:40

Love the pictures of the children; a road! Who would have thought it smile.
Take care all. Hope Soop is enjoying family time.
